- I like the mapping of campus as every important places are nearby the hostels like lecture halls,sports area and food and snacks shop
- I like that there is no restriction in girls entering boys hostel and vice versa

- Outside the campus there is no place to visit as the campus location is outside the main city.
- According to me the academic are tougher in iit kanpur in comparison to other iits.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I decided to choose this course on the basis of my jee advanced rank. So the branch of civil engineering was available in IIT Kanpur so I decided to opt for the following. The faculty to student ratio is also quite good.
Likes
- When i visited the college for the first time a year ago, i was astonished by the beautiful campus. The campus was lush green, beautiful and drones and other technical instruments flying and what not. The hostel was also quite nice .
- During my first semester, the academics was not much touch as i had heard of, it was easy and you could pass by starting to study a week before the exams. However, they became slightly tough in the second semester, but it was manageable.
Dislikes
- There is not much but the attendance criteria in some courses.
- Some professors are very intelligent but they lack the ability to teach or to convey the knowledge to the students.
Placement Experience:
Placements are good . Some of my seniors are placed in very good companies and almost all students get placed. The student placement office cooperates a lot in your placement year. Various options are available.

- There are a lot of trees here which I liked the most.
- The college infrastructure is very nice.the buildings here are of some 70 years old.
Dislikes
- I don't dislike anything in my college.I like everything.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chooser this course not with my interest.Actually I want to study in iit and with my cutoff I got this course.But the teaching here is very good.There are weekly labs and they enchance our understanding of the course.There is enough time to prepare for exams. There will be atleast 3 exams per week.

- Placement is quite low it can be increased . ITS average is good.
- campus life is sometimes chill and somtimes you got acadmic presssure .
Dislikes
- College is in mid of various tree feel like jungle sometimes. Once a leopard comes in the campus which is very interesting tale.
- Infrastructure is very old and calassy looking.
Placement Experience:
The place in our college is average. When you reach your 7th sem or 4th year you are eligible for placements. There are lots of companies such as Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, flipchart, zomato, swiggy, etc. The highest average package is 22 lakh. There will be more than 50% placements. I will get placement after my degree.

student typically eligible for placement in 7th semester, of their UG programme. many multinational companies ,startup, and research companies like CTC , Microsoft , Wipro and etc. highest package - 1.9 cr per annum (domestic) and 2.5 cr per annum(international) average package is 26.25 Lakhs per annum. almost 80% students got placement in iitk. I will choose higher study in abroad.

Placement Experience:
From 3rd year students start working on their interns and placements.They year their were a lot of prestigious companies offered.Avg package was 25 lakhs and highest not sure.This yr 949 students got placements.

- The toxicity that people pursue , their inner jealousy.
- Many students are drug and cigarette addicts.

After 7th semester u are eligible for placements. A lot of companies like graviton,Accenture,samsung, Microsoft etc visited and more than 850 offers were made. Highest domestic package was abot 1.5cr while average package was about 25lpa. Around 90 percentage of students got placed.

- Profs are also much appreciable they support us help us.
Dislikes
- Nothing till now I spent around 10 months in the college I seem nothing to be disliked

From seventh semester students are allowed for campus placement companies like Google Microsoft apple Amazon quant and all other named companies come in the campus placement for offering placement highest package gone upto 4 CR last year and the average package is 19-20 lakh per annum about 95% students get placed each year my plan is to secure a good placement

- Campus life will be awesome and it's around 1200 acres.
- You will get a lot of freedom and access to maximum things.
Dislikes
- Grading is bad and toughest among all IIT's.
- No supplies if any student fails in any course.

From 4th year students are eligible for placements. Many companies visit and there will be around 900 to 1000 offers in a total batch. Highest package of civil engineering will be around 20 lakh and avg will be around 7 lakh. around 80 to 85 percent students will be placed. getting a job is my first priority.

- Big campus, best peer group and good mess quality
- Security at IITK. We can freely roam in the campus 24/7
Dislikes
- Some professors keep absolute grading sysytem which makes us difficult to score
- Double and Triple seater rooms in IITK .I wanted single room

Students of 4 th year are allowed for placements. Around 250 companies visited this year. Around 1000 offers were given this year. Quadeyes securities gave offer to around 15 students-93 lpa ctc. My plan is to prepare for upsc after graduation

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?
Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
