placement is very good in iit kanpur most of the students get placed with good packages. The highest pakage of the year 2022 is 4cr and the average pakage is around 20lakh companies like google, microsoft come in on-campus placement

Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum of IIT Kanpur is a bit tough. A semester usually ends in 4 months and has 5-6 subjects. Most of the subjects in 1st year are Institute Compulsory courses which are taught to students of every batch. Department course starts from 2nd year.
Placement Experience:
Students from the second year can apply for internships and students start getting placed in the third year. Top recruiters are Amazon, Apple, Axis Bank, EXL, Google, ICICI Bank, Intel, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Sterlite, Vmock, and Zomato. In 2022, a student was placed at Jane street with a package of 4.2 Cr. Almost all the students who apply at placement cells get placed in good companies. My plan after getting a Civil Engineering B.Tech degree is to go for Indian Engineering Services.
Placement Experience:
Placement starts from the 7th semester starting. Almost 90 % of students got placed on campus. almost 400-500 companies came for recruitment. Some students go for UPSC after graduation. I am preparing for the Quant profile.
Remarks:
Best Infrastructure in all IITs. Lavish Lifestyle, excellent living standards and maximum freedom. You can see Piyush Patel vlogs and Blogs on YouTube to get a heck of it. Though Academics are a little tough as compared to ay other college of India, still you enjoy the enviourment.
Placement Experience:
Already known that placement in a top IIT is very easy as compared to other NITs or Private colleges. Most of the placement offers are On-Campus . So percentage of Students getting placed is around 90-95 % Left overs include students opting for further studies, or civil services or research oriented. All big tech giants offers job in placement season like Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Google and almost all companies are open for all branch students (except a few wanting a particular niche) Popular startups also offers jobs during placement season.
Placement Experience:
IIT Kanpur has excellent placements. about 85% of students got selected in different fields of jobs such as core jobs, software, finance etc. The highest package was 150 LPA and the average package is around 15 LPA. My plan, for now, is to getting placed with a decent salary.
Admission:
Admission is through jee advance.
Remarks:
The postive remark are that- Students get all the opportunity regarding their academic/ sports life. Library are open till mid night so that person can study till 12 mid night. Negative remarks are- Grading are of even system that is 10/8/6/4/2/0 Faculty are sometimes doesn't tech well.
Remarks:
In campus transportation is through only cycle. Only cycles are allowed for students. Hostels are very facilitative and have good infrastructure. The hostel rent is charged along with the semester fee.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?
Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
