OUAT offers UG, PG, and courses in the field of Agriculture, Science, and Technology. At the UG level, the university offers B.Sc, B.Tech, B.F.Sc, B.V.Sc, while M.Sc, MCA, and MBA are being offered at the PG level. For admission to UG and PG courses at OUAT, candidates are required to appear for the entrance examination and participate in the counseling sessions conducted by the university for final seat allotments.
OUAT also offers admission to the Ph.D. program on the basis of scores obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the university followed by a viva. The selection criteria, dates, eligibility, and application process are discussed in the article.

OUAT UG Admission 2024
OUAT provides the undergraduate programs not only in the field of Agriculture, but in the fields of Home Science, Horticulture, Basic Science, Veterinary, and Fisheries as well. The selection for these courses are based on the merit score of 10th/HSC, 10+2 or equivalent examination, and the score obtained in the common entrance exam conducted by the university.

Selection Criteria
OUAT conducts a common entrance test to select the candidates for the UG courses. The test is composed of 200 multiple choice questions from the following subjects:
- Physics – 66 Marks
- Chemistry – 66 Marks
- Mathematics/Biology – 68 Marks
Weightage for the candidate selection is calculated as follows:

Selection Criteria
The university takes an entrance examination to grant admission to the PG courses. The exam is of 100 marks and the duration is 2 hours. The questions are composed of two categories:

Selection Criteria
The selection for the MCA, MBA, and M.Sc. (Bioinformatics) is based on the academic scores of the candidates. The candidates need to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.
OUAT Ph.D. Admission 2024
The university provides the research facility in the fields of Basic Science, Mathematics, and Microbiology. For the selection in these Ph.D. courses, the candidates need to have a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject and must qualify in the entrance test conducted for the PH.D. courses. Selection Criteria
OUAT selects candidates for its Ph.D. courses through a common entrance test followed by a viva test. The duration of the entrance exam is of 2 hours having a value of 100 marks. The questions are categorized in multiple choice of 40 marks and short answers of 60 marks.
How to Apply for OUAT?
Online Application Submission
The application forms for all the courses are available online in the official website of the university. The candidates need to do the following to apply for the courses:
- Go to the OUAT official website – www.ouat.ac.in.
- Click the Admission tab. All the important links will be listed on the Admission page.
- Click the applicable link for the course you want to apply for.
- The link leads you to the online payment of the application fee of 1000/- through the SBI Collect facility.
- After successfully making the payment, fill up the form and submit it.
Offline Application Submission
The application forms for the PG and Ph.D. courses are also available offline at the university campus. The candidates need to do the following:
- Get the application forms from the university campus or download and print the form.
- Send the duly filled up application form to the address:

- Make the payment of the application fee of 1000/- using the online SBI Collect facility.

Ques. Is there a direct admission to OUAT?
Ans. Yes, the university allows direct admission to under sports quota. But there is certain eligibility criterion set for them:
- Students involved in NSS activities are offered direct admission only if the volunteer has represented the country at the International level. The candidate needs to submit a certificate collected from “the Regional Directorate of NSS”.
- Students involved in sports activities are also offered direct admission if they have represented the country in any sports events at the International level. Such candidates are required to submit a certificate issued by “The Directorate of Sports and Youth Services/ Affairs from the respective State Govt.”.

Ans. Students are shortlisted for admission based on the following criteria:
- Highest entrance mark followed by the highest OGPA/ percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (10+2/ UG/ PG) + the highest percentage of mark in +2 Science/ equivalent, and the highest percentage of marks in 10th standard examination + Entrance exam marks.

- Ouat is a government college which provides you alot of benefits starting from education to sports.
- I got graduated this year and it was a very nice experience

- The classes are a little small and there is no proper presentation system
- They don't provide placement which is a demerit
Admission:
To get into this course at least you have to score 80% in your 12th. The application form you can simply get from SAMS website with all the required brochure mentioned there. There is reservation sits for sc, st, and obc But certain criteria are changed now so you must contact the office to know the details
Likes
- The best thing about this college are it's facilities and professors. You can reach out to anyone for help and they will help you everytime.
- Next, as the number of students are limited in an honours batch, we can easily grab the topics and understand them. Because it gives a coaching like vibe. And yeah all the rooms have AC (air conditioner) facility.
Dislikes
- The college building is quite small in size. It could be larger and more occupied
- The college has no hostel facility but soon it should have one.
Admission:
Any student with +2 science can apply here. He/she must have 55% in the exam. The application form can be found at the site samsodisha for +3 admission under state government of odisha. All the details of applications can be found at SAMS site. There are certain number of seats reserved for sports cadet, NCC, NSS and caste reservation for SC,ST and OBC (non creamy) as per national reservation policy. There's no suggestion for improvement at the admission process. It's already the best.
Likes
- The communication between teachers and students was so friendly. The doubt clearing sessions conducted before exams were so fruitful
- The campus life was so good that every function taking from small to big has equal importance.
Dislikes
- The internship availability in the scientific and applied science field was so required. Students should at least get scholarship from own university
- No doubt the teaching was good but guest faculties were teaching the best. So the permanent faculties don't show up much
Admission:
the admission process is completely online and is a straightforward process. The application form can be found online on the government education website. Reservations for the SC, ST, and OBC along with other Quotas are also available. The draft process is somehow timetaking
Likes
- College Festival is a good thing. But, it's is decided by the Administration.
- Some faculties know how to teach. Faculties are PhD holder from iits or top colleges.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure was underdeveloped at our time.
- Classroom doesn't have air conditioner. Also few of them don't even have fans and bulbs.
Admission:
First you have to appear for either ouat exam or icar entrance exam. Then they will count your 10th percentage, 12th percentage and entrance scorecard after calculating the weightage average they will give you shortlist. If you are lucky you will get through it.

- There is no placements for masters students in science background actually

I took admission in master of science (chemistry) , through CPET entrance exam, Which is conducted by Odisha Government for post graduation program. You should be in the maximum up to 200 rank, if you want to take administration in college, (If you are a general student).
Likes
- The instruction field, the poly house and well set farm.
- Library is good and you have ample amount of books for knowledge and it also have Computer access.
Dislikes
- It is little bit far from the main city .
- Course is vast and time is less so Course goes very fast sometimes unable to catch.
Admission:
As I am from GEN background so no reservations benefits As far as my case is concerned. Regarding Admission process you have fill the OUAT examination form(online) PCB/PCM/PCMB can opt for this examination then on the given dates you will give the examination in CBT mode. Difficulty is there as you have to attend 200 questions. You got be very fast. After examination we have an offline counseling then and there you may /may not get the seat depending on seat Matrix. You can join this University through ICAR also( but very limited seat under it.) All informations regarding the examination, application, registration etc will be available on OUAT official website.

- The faculty members have the great style of teaching and making the things easy
- Way more emphasis on practical knowlege and regular practical classes
Dislikes
- No market is near the college campus of ouat bhawanipatna
- High tuition fees for the cost sharing students and less scolarship

Ouat provides admission through offline counselling which student should get desired marks to get selected into colleges and the colleges have different cut off and two different types of seat one is cost sharing and another is general seat

Eligibility for my course required an additional medical certificate I was able to find the application form, application fees and application dates from the OUAT website Timing of the exam is 3 hour and difficulty is medium No need of improvement every thing is alright

- I liked the faculties, the campus the syllabus the system

- The travelling service should be developed
- Campus development and infrastructure is required
Admission:
The admission process begins with a screening exam which is done in cbt mode. Then the result of that test comes in the form of percentile and 25% of both 10th and 12th exam number are included along side the 50% of the cbt test result
