OUAT Admissions

The selection of the candidates for admission to the UG and PG courses is done on the basis of the Common Entrance Test (CET) is an entrance examination which is conducted by the university.

The candidates for admission can download the concerned admission application form available at the official university website and submit them online using the SBI website. The candidates for admission must also submit the required fees of Rs. 1000/- through the available online payment mode.

After appearing in the Entrance Examination on the scheduled date, the candidate shall have to download a hard copy of admission application Form-B’ available in the prospectus and submit it along with self-attested photocopies of required documents and testimonials to the following address through Registered Post / Speed Post / Courier Service within the due date.

Ans. There are no books for OUAT preparation as such, questions in the OUAT entrance exam come mostly from NCERT. So, prepare well from the 11th and 12th NCERT books. Go through the previous year’s question papers. Also, you can go through Arihant publication ‘all in one ‘ series for physics and chemistry.

Ques. Which entrance exam is good and easier: OUAT or ICAR?

Ans. Both examinations have the same difficulty level. Whether it’s OUAT or ICAR, you need to prepare hard for both the exams. The only difference between both the exams is that, if you qualify for the OUAT examination, you will get colleges that are under OUAT only. Whereas, if you qualify for the ICAR examination, you will get any State Agriculture Universities including OUAT.

Good campus and good studies

Likes

The campus Life will be very peaceful. Placement offers are newly added to the college. It was continuous process for every year.
Infrastructure will be old, but it will be good for our mind relaxation. Inside the college was installed with new technology for studies.
The teaching faculty will be good in teaching. In some cases scientists also take classes to the students.

Dislikes

The out looking infrastructure will be old.
All students are not taking the scholarship because of some fixed marks are provided.
It was combined with both Bsc and Msc students.

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

The curriculum of the college is suitable for students , because after every 2 classes they provide 10-15 minutes break for the students. Sports and cultural activities also provided in the curriculum. But in summer season curriculum is not suitable for students. There is no any sports and cultural activities in summer season. Every 5 months the exams will be conduct. In between the 5 months mid term exams also conducted. Timing of exams will be provided by examination staff which are provided especially for exams.

Various companies recruiting from the campus and average package being offered

Every year in our college provide the placement interview from the banking sectors and the agricultural sectors. Every year 4-5 companies will offer the placements. Canara bank, punjab national bank, agri seed companies are coming for placement interviews. 20-30 percent students are selected for the placement interview. Average package will be 3 lakhs per annum. I am planned for FCI after degree

Yearly fees structure of the course and scholarship

Year wise fee will be 65000rs including the hostel benefits. Tuition fee , admission fee, development fee, lab fee will be included in year wise fee. It will be around 5000rs. My batchmate were joined under NRI quota. NRI quota fee will be high. It will be approximately 7-8 lakhs including all needs. The scholarship will be provided under 2 categories. ICAR scholarship will be provided, monthly 3000rs and the local students will be awarded scholarship according to their marks , it is given by the government of odisha.

Students views about the campus life

My experience in this college is very good. It was students friendly campus. In every year athletic, dramatic, literary functions are conducted. But mostly favourable function is college annual function. In our college has big library with good technology. In our library has book atm machine. We can take the books by this machine. every sports has the different coach for teaching the technics. NCC and NSS are helps in social groups.Most of the AIASA members are from our college.

On-campus living facilities

Our hostel will be homely type. Food is good and delicious in taste. Most of the students will choose the mess items list. In our hostel also provided small library and reading room. Sports also encouraged in the hostel. Hostel Life is suitable for the student.

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

In each year they divided into 3 sections. Faculty for all departments will be 7-10 members. Teachers are friendly moving with students. Agronomy department faculties are mostly good, because they provided extra practical knowledge to the students and encourage in sports also. Some of the members are not favorable to the students, but now they are transferred to other colleges. Every year 2 semisters are there. For every semister 9-10 subjects will be there. Most of the students are pass in every exams. If there are any failed one's, then they pass in there first attempt. Because the teaching faculty will encourage the students in studies. Some subjects like Entomology and pathology are difficult, because they have most of the scientific names. Remembering the scientific names are difficult.

What is the admission process of the college?

I choose this college because, it was the 2nd oldest college in India. Most of the students in this college are crack the agricultural banking services. And odisha civil services. But in other colleges there students are not high for job holding which comparre to the OUAT college. Admission process will be done without any problem because the non teaching faculty will help to students for admission process. The odisha agricultural students from OUAT are mostly job holding students

I've applied to BJB college, RD college. No I did not get rejection from other colleges. The reason I choose this college over the others is because of the calm environment it offers as compared to other colleges. There is no student politics involved as such .

There are lots of conferences and national level training programmes occurs in the college.

The campus size is small.It should be a little large.

Admission:

I came into know about this college in my tenth class after that after I finally decided to join the college. To join the college you have to appear for OUAT ENTRANCE EXAM. This exam is of 200 marks which is computer based. The subject's are physics,chemistry and biology which have to study. You have to clear the minimum cutoff marks. For the evaluation of percentile 25% of class 12th and 11th are taken into consideration.

* I applied to colleges like Banaras Hindu University and jawarlal neheru krishi Vishwavidyalaya . But I chose ouat because of the faculty and best college among all. * Yes I got rejection because I was 0.5 marks behind the cut off mark. * Admission happens after entrance result is out counselling happens. Usually cutoff goes very high accordingly you have to prepare.

My College CBSH

Likes

Our college had a small garden inside its premises and I liked it the most.
There were excellent facilities in Math, Chemistry and Biology. I felt confident after I finished their classes and most faculties were friendly also.
My college had a very friendly environment and I learnt many things during this time.

Dislikes

Infrastructure was average and there was no college field for sports.
College election was very nasty as local people were also involved during that time.

Admission:

I also applied for BJB Autonomous College and I was unable to meet the cut-off. I got confirmed admission from CBSH , so I joined it. The admission process of CBSH includes form application, selection on the basis of marks and then the admission, which was very easy.

I did my graduation from this college only and so i was comfortable with the faculties the exam. Pattern so i decided to go for post grad from ouat only. I secured rank 5 in the entrance and also rank 25 in all india JRF to get into this stream. Once u secure rank in ouat entrance u get intimation letter for counselling and there u come and choose ur stream as per ur rank and availability of seats and get admission.

The syllabus is very oriented also the college provides many opportunities to show your talent in cocoricular activities like dramatics and sports.

Dislikes

Campus size and infrastructure is somehow underwhelming.

Admission:

Other courses like Bsc etc are not that great to get a govt job . In Bvsc it's nearly certain that after completion of graduation you will be posted as a veterinary surgeon on govt's duty. I didn't got rejection from other courses as my first preference was BVSc but due to some timing issues in admission I had apply in iiser .

OUAT (Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology) is a Technical University. Anybody interested in research in any discipline can go for a master degree in their area of interest.

There is huge scope for Research leading to PhD in OUAT in all departments of Agriculture, Veterinary, Fishery, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering, etc. Among all the branches OUAT is popular for B.Sc. Agriculture and Bachelors in Veterinary Science.

The 3 things that OUAT deals with are research, education and extension. To get into the research section you have to complete your graduation followed by your post graduation. After that you can apply for ARS or continue doing PhD and can apply for university vacancy.

You can get some advice from the seniors and even visit the college and see the ambience and their functioning for yourself. Research is a field that requires a lot of patience and perseverance, so choose after knowing every aspect of it.

Orissa University Of Agriculture & Technology does not offer Masters of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry in distance mode but you can apply to other colleges such as Madurai Kamaraj University Directorate of Distance Education, Annamalai University, Alagappa University, etc. The fee for the course in distance mode can be anywhere between INR 11,000 – INR 55,000.
