What is OUAT 2027?

OUAT 2027 is the undergraduate entrance examination conducted once a year by Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar. It is the single gateway for admission to all UG courses offered by OUAT and its seven constituent colleges. The university was established in 1962 and is recognised by the UGC and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It has an NIRF rank of 19 in Agriculture and Allied Sectors — one of the top 20 agricultural universities in India.

The OUAT 2027 exam will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode with 200 multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics. OUAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

You must check your eligibility before filling OUAT 2027 Form-A. Applications from ineligible candidates get rejected during document verification, which means you lose both the seat and the application fee. Confirm all conditions before applying.

Educational Qualification

• You must have passed the +2 Science (Class 12) examination from a recognised board — or be appearing in Class 12 in 2027, subject to clearing with the required marks before the admission date.
• Physics and Chemistry are compulsory for all courses.
• For B.Sc. Agriculture, B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Sc. Horticulture, B.Sc. Forestry, B.Sc. Fishery Science, and B.Sc. Community Science: You must have studied Biology alongside Physics and Chemistry (PCB stream).

Minimum Marks Required

Domicile and Age

• You must be a permanent resident (domicile) of Odisha. Admission through OUAT is primarily for Odisha state residents.
• Candidates whose parents are permanent residents of Odisha are generally also eligible, even if the candidate studied Class 12 outside Odisha.
• There is no strict upper age limit for OUAT, but you must be at least 17 years of age by July 1 of the admission year.

If you hold an Odisha domicile certificate but completed Class 12 in another state, you may still be eligible. Do not assume ineligibility — read the OUAT 2027 information bulletin carefully once it is released.

OUAT 2027 Application Process: Form-A and Form-B Explained

The OUAT application process has two forms filed at two different stages. Form-A registers you for the exam. Form-B registers you for counselling. Many students miss Form-B after the result and lose their chance at a seat despite having a good rank. You must act on both forms at the right time.

Form-A vs Form-B: What Is the Difference?

Form-A is the examination registration form filed before the exam — it includes your personal details, academic information, exam city preference, photograph, signature, and the application fee. Submitting Form-A means you are registered to appear in the OUAT 2027 exam.

Form-B is the counselling participation form filed after the result is declared. It collects your OUAT merit rank, preferred courses, and preferred colleges in priority order. OUAT 2027 Admit Card

The OUAT 2027 admit card will be available for download on the official website at ouat.ac.in. Based on the 2026 pattern — where the admit card was released on June 24–25, 2026 for an exam held on July 1–2, 2026 — the 2027 admit card is expected about 6 to 8 days before the exam date in June 2027. You cannot appear for the OUAT exam without a valid, printed admit card.

How to Download OUAT 2027 Admit Card

OUAT 2027 Preparation Tips and Study Strategy

With the OUAT 2027 exam expected in June–July 2027 and the notification expected in March 2027, you have approximately 9 months from September 2026 to prepare. The entire exam is based on the CHSE Odisha Class 11 and 12 Science syllabus — no special coaching material or out-of-syllabus content is tested. Strong fundamentals and regular objective-type practice are the two pillars of a successful OUAT preparation.

1. Understand the Exam First — Solve Previous Year Papers Early

Before diving into revision, solve at least 5 to 10 previous year OUAT question papers. This tells you which topics appear most frequently, how questions are framed, and what the difficulty level looks like. Identify your weak chapters from these papers and prioritise them in your study plan.

2. Use CHSE Odisha and NCERT Textbooks as Your Primary Source

• Biology: NCERT Class 11 and 12 Biology textbooks are the most important resource for PCB students. Read every diagram, in-text question, and example box — OUAT frequently picks questions directly from NCERT content. Cover both volumes at least twice before the exam.

3. Prioritise Biology if You Are a PCB Student

Biology carries 68 marks out of 200 — the largest share of any subject. Most PCB students find Biology the most scoring section. If you can score 55+ in Biology, 50+ in Chemistry, and 40+ in Physics, your total crosses 145 — enough for a competitive rank for B.Sc. Agriculture. Do not neglect Biology preparation in favour of other subjects.

4. Attempt All 200 Questions — No Reason to Skip

Since OUAT has no negative marking, leaving a question blank has no advantage. On difficult questions where you are unsure, make your best guess based on elimination of wrong options. In a 200-question paper, even a few additional correct guesses can shift your rank meaningfully.

5. Time Management During the Exam

You have 120 minutes for 200 questions — about 36 seconds per question on average. Do not spend more than 50 to 60 seconds on any one question. Skip difficult questions, attempt the rest of the paper, and return to the skipped ones with remaining time. This strategy ensures you attempt every question at least once.

6. Take Regular Mock Tests

Take at least one full-length mock test per week in the 3 months before the exam. After each mock test, review every wrong answer and identify the chapter it came from.
