The core curriculum includes everything that is required for industrial area. Laboratories gives a brief idea of field work and give experience, there are 3 to 4 Laboratories scheduled every week, the core curriculum is quite interesting and professors make it even more interesting while teaching. There are more subjects in curriculum apart from core for overall development, like business, psychology, biological science, trading, economics and critical thinking. And anyone can opt these courses, there is no cgpa Criteria for getting registered in these subjects.

Its a pretty interesting as in such because a lot of concepts in first year are those which we learnt from class 12th and the laboratory courses like Chem lab , Physics lab, Computer lab and Engineering Drawing are really good and interesting.

Basically I belong to Jharkhand and there I saw many huge coal mines and steel plants. So as I grew up I came to know that we are continuously dependent on non-renewable sources and so I chose Materials Engineering so that as an engineer I can create new ways for renewable sources. My course is quite good in this college and the curriculum is very much intact. Exams also happen in a regular manner.

I am currently in my first year soon to become a senior. In first year , course for all branches is same . I chose this course because there were only few options for me to get admission in an IIT. Exams are conducted 2 times per semester within gap of approx 2 months .It's difficulty level depends on which faculty member is setting up the question paper.

Yeah it's good, course curriculum is very well designed for a students. No more stress/ pressure. They were lot of events, cultural programs etc. And we have 2 semesters in one yr. And the process is one mid-exams and end-exams. We have to get pass marks to eligible to nxt yr.

The course curriculum at Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IITBBS), is the standard curriculum followed by all other IIT's, but with some modifications here and there to fit for the Students according to the courses. I am from Metallurgy and Materials Engineering Department, we have a good enough curriculum, which involves fundamentals to practical applications of concepts. But there would exams, tests, assignments conduted very frequently, there would another test even before we recover the last test. Same with assignments, lab reports and submission deadlines. But I guess it goes the same for every Engineering college around the country.

The course metallurgical and materials engineering deals with the various kinds of materials in our lives and how to analyze materials and improve their performance in certain aspects. The curriculum is very well structured in that it gives us students an idea of how we can use the knowledge we gained in our studies for real-life applications and also gives us the ambition to further our studies. The course curriculum is impeccable in my opinion. The exams are placed at perfect intervals to not allow us time to laze around.

The course curriculum is fine..i expected much more interesting courses.. but some courses are really good. In our curriculum there should be the chance for students to opt there own interest course. Faculty are well qualified and supportive towards students. We have semester exams every year and we have two semester per year and during our semester we also have tests and seminars.

I chosen BTech in minerals metallurgical and materials engineering in IIT bhubaneswar. IIT bhubaneswar offers a high epupied laboratory and highly qualified professors in my college the faculty and student ratio is around 1/12 we have good motivation and highly supportive faculty and our faculty available for all the time and we get good and quick response from our faculty. Our are PhD scholars with a first class in the relavet branches with minimum 3 to 5 years experience in teaching field we will have term exams after 2 months of course begins and the difficulty level was moderate

I chose this course because i wanted to get into an IIT. The student faculty ratio for our current batch of 500 students might be roughly 5:1. The faculty is very qualified and teaching method id also of good standards. The exams are held every two months and they are moderately tough to pass.
Opting for Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar is a better choice than moving for metallurgy at IIT Kharagpur as:
IIT Bhubaneswar is renowned in the metallurgical engineering and material science department. It has well qualified and experienced teaching faculty. As IIT Kharagpur is the mentor institute of IIT Bhubaneswar, the coursework follows IIT Kharagpur’s curriculum. IIT Bhubaneswar is located in Odisha's mineral state and provides numerous opportunities for essential experience in fieldwork and job sites. According to 2019 placement highlights, 90% of students from metallurgical engineering and material science department got placed. The average CTC offered was around 11.4 LPA.
Now for IIT Indore, it has gained rapid popularity for its coding community and the quality of the computer science curriculum. This resulted in a step back at the development of other core branches, mainly metallurgical engineering. In 2019 the placement rate at IIT Indore was 99% with an average CTC of 16.06 LPA.
The fact is that there are not many students interested to enroll this field of engineering. This results in a lot of the students opting for electives/optional subjects like coding, data science, etc. and then get placed in a non-core job (not linked with metallurgical engineering).
Based on these above factors, Bhubaneswar is preferred than Indore as it is situated and connected to Steel and Mining Industry and hence provides more job opportunities.
If you ask me, I think Metallurgy at IIT Bhubaneswar is better than RVCE CSE. However, it is your personal preference whether you want to opt for RVCE CSE or Metallurgy at IIT Bhubaneswar.
Both IIT BHU and IIT Bhubaneswar are popular academic institutions known for their extensive academic offerings in the fields of engineering, technology, and management. It depends on your personal preference, academic choices, and career objectives which institution you want to opt for.
Metallurgical Engineering program in IIT Bhubaneswar is quite good. A few of the subjects in the course include Polymers & Nanocomposites, Materials in archaeology, Materials recycling and sustainability, etc. The faculty of the metallurgy department are well qualified and experienced. The college provides a research-oriented environment and the curriculum also includes a number of field trips as it is located in Odisha which is blessed with minerals. Students also gain a major exposure through internships which they attain the second year of the course. The annual fees charged by the college is close to 2.13 LPA INR for its B. Tech course.
120 students appeared for the placement season of 2018-19. 90% of the Metallurgical Branch got placed in the year 2018-19. The average package offered was 11.44 LPA INR. 89 companies visited the campus in the year 2018-19. Few of the top recruiters include TATA Steel, Reliance Industries, and PSUs like IOCL, DRDO, ONGC, etc.
Both IIT Indore and IIT Bhubaneswar offer good academics and placements in the field of engineering. As you must know, Metallurgy is a sub branch of Mechanical Engineering.
IIT Bhubaneswar collaborates with foreign universities like the University of Warwick, University of Southampton, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, University of Western Ontario, University of New York, University of North Dakota USA, and McGill University. This offers great opportunities for foreign internships and exchange programs.
Both the colleges have the same major recruiters such as COAL India, TATA Advanced Systems, TATA Steel Group, DRDO, Usha Martin, JCAP, etc.
Some other companies that visit IIT Indore for placements are- JSW Steel, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), VISA Steel, and Tata Iron and Steel Company Limited (TISCO).
Here are the 2023 B.Tech Metallurgy placements at IIT Indore and IIT Bhubaneswar:
Particulars | IIT Indore | IIT Bhubaneswar |
Average Salary | INR 18.95 LPA | INR 13.41 LPA |
Highest Salary | INR 38 LPA | INR 23 LPA |
Median Salary | INR 18.50 LPA | INR 12.50 LPA |
% Batch placed | 89.29 % | 76.47 % |
Both IIT Indore and IIT Bhubaneswar are a good choice for Metallurgy. But out of personal experience, I can assure you that IIT Bhubaneswar is a good choice for this degree.
