Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. As per NITC the impressive placement oppurnities for its students in the recent drive in present years the highest salary package offered was the 67.6 lpa,which the average stood at 12.1 lpa average. The students were placed and the average salary for b.tech student graduates while for m.tech graduates it was INR 11 lpa .

Plcements.For Computer science branch there is almost 100 percent placement.But for other branches it is not that much great.Only 40 percent of students from eee are placee till now.

Placement Experience:

For CS placements are great.Almost 100 percent students are placed with median ctc of around 20LPA.Im not sure about highest CTC (will be around 55).For other branches placements are not that good.Core companies visiting are very less and their ctc is also less.Most of eee and ece students are placed in it companies.Qualcomm which is the best company in electronics domain has only selected mtech students for hardware role.Thats why I'm preparing for gate and trying to get an mtech degree in microelectronics or integrated circuits which is the best option for eee or ece engineers.

The placement scenario of NIT Warangal, Surathkal, and Trichy is somewhat the same with minor differences only. One of my friends studied at NIT Warangal and shed some light on the placement scenario there. Here is a branch-wise analysis

CSE : The placements for the CSE branch are the best in NIT Warangal as well as Trichy and Surathkal. Students are placed in huge software giants like Microsoft, D.E.Shaw, Adobe, Directi, Tower Research Capital, Cisco, IBM, and some Investment Bankers like Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, etc The average package of CSE recorded this year was INR 30.8 LPA for BTech while INR 30.43 LPA for MTech.
ECE - The companies coming on the first day of placements are Qualcomm, Broadcom, Nvidia, SanDisk India, Redpine Signals, Samsung, and Caterpillar, etc., Software companies like Cisco, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Oracle, etc allow ECE students to sit for placements. The average package for BTech students is INR 23.6 LPA and for MTech students is around NR 20.4 LPA.
EEE - Companies like Alstom, Reliance, and PSUs like Power Grid, IOCL, HPCL, etc., offer core profiles to EEE students. They used to think most of the companies offer a 40 LPA salary package, but these only include the companies in the US. Even Google India, Codenation, Directi offer not more than 24 LPA to the students. Based on these salary packages offered we can see that placements at NIT Calicut are really good.

SOMS, NIT Calicut offers good opportunities to its MBA students. The curriculum is at par with other institutes offering this program and you will get a distinguished faculty. Many teachers from the NIT Calicut main campus visit SOMS to teach certain subjects, thus enhancing the value of this course.

The SOMS infrastructure is great and considered to be the best in the entire NIT Calicut. The students are placed with decent packages. To increase the placements, students have created committees and forums to look after placements, internships and public relations.

You have to begin with a very small package and patiently gain experience under the most renowned architects. I have a friend who studies in the ECE branch at NIT Warangal. I will break down his overall experience into simpler aspects

Academics: The curriculum and academic life at NIT Warangal for ECE students is a bit more challenging than others. Some semesters have too many courses and it’s difficult to get free time. The grades are given a lot of importance and students face tough competition. Also, the faculty is not very approachable.

Campus life: The campus life of students of all branches is similar. Equal opportunities and facilities are offered and students experience a productive ambiance where they can work on their passions.
Hostels : The hostel facilities are top-notch and both old and new hostels are available. Students get a home-like feel in these cozy buildings and make friends for life.
Mess food: Mess food is better than food served in intermediate hostels. However, students can opt for eating out if the food in the mess is unsatisfactory. The eateries outside serve decent food at low prices.
Sports : The sports culture here is not very prominent and you won’t be forced to be involved in any such activities.
Extracurricular : A number of clubs promote extracurriculars with ECEA being the most active association.

To decide a course’s worth depends not only on the subjects dealt with but also on the aptitude/expectations of the student.

It would be good to keep in mind that power electronics is quite a vast field. Electronics Design and Technology is like any other specialization offered by NITC.

If you go in-depth you get to know that this course is a blend of VLSI and embedded/system design.If you are interested in the VLSI domain, then EDT is definitely your way. Most of the subjects are shared with Microelectronics & VLSI branches.

Okay, let us take a look at the placement scenario:

Placements are a bit off for M.Tech students relative to B.Tech students at NITC.
Several core VLSI companies (TI, Broadcom, Nvidia, Synopsys, etc) end up hiring mostly B.Tech batch.
It also depends on your academics too.
Intel usually hires interns during the second year.
These internship opportunities are available only to VLSI and EDT students mainly.

Though, the chance for placement in core companies directly is relatively less. But, if you manage to maintain your CGPA on or above 8 you have a chance to get into a good internship opportunity. There will be internship opportunities available in companies like Broadcom, Intel, and Cypress.

Most of these guys selected will be converted to full-time after one year of internship. You can do an internship and Second-year M.Tech main project at the same time. If you are really good you can also try for an internship from other branches like Telecom and Signal Processing.

CSE- 96.1%, 148
Electrical and Electronics- 93.75%, 120
Chemical- 88.09%, 74

The highest package offered in the recent placements was 50 LPA. The average package was 13.77 LPA.

Students of NIT Calicut become eligible for placements interview from second last semester of the course. Besides this, the highest package offered at the placements is INR 50 LPA. The average package is INR 13. 77 LPA.
