The Campus is very beautiful with all those greenery and with a very pleasant weather
The faculties are very friendly. They try to help us in every problem. A faculy Advisor is assigned to each student.
The Hostels and Gym equipments are top-notch which you find in a proper GYM

Dislikes

The path from Mega Hostel to campus goes through a steep mountain climb which we have to climb when we miss the bus.

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college. And one has to do PCM in their 12th. Cutoff is Generally Between 97-98.5 percentile for General Student to get Mechanical Engineering

Echoes Of NITC : A memoir of life and learning

Likes

College Ambience, Facilities, Labs and faculties
The ambience which NIT provides is so nice and you hardly needs 30 mins to Calicut town
Each hostel is having separate mess and you can try different ones each month

Dislikes

First year is packed with courses for masters and no much time to relax
Sometimes the food quality in mess used to decline based on whether it is a vacation time
Midnight services to Calicut is limited and you need to depend on cab at midnight

Admission:

Being a keralite I always enjoyed to be at home, so NITC was a solid option for me and I love the culture of calicut more . The people in clicut are too loving and care for each other. The legacy which NITC holds over past decades was also another factor.

Likes

campus life is very vibrant with lot of fest and programme
campus is full of greenery , buildings in the campus are well maintained
faculties in college are well experienced and educated

Dislikes

sports facilities are very poor compared to other nit
academics here is very tough and it can be made little easy
students and faculties don't have good relationship

Admission:

i chose this college because it was the best i could get with my rank in jee examination . to get into nitc you need a minimum of 96 percentile in jee examination. you can secure your admission through josaa portel

Very vibrant college life at NITC

Likes

People and professors are nice. Teach very well
Good college enviornment and coding culture
College fests are next level. Ragam and tathva are the best.

Dislikes

A bit overworked. Compulsory attendance for some classes
Humid and hot weather. You ll be sweating a lot here
Administration is very bad. They even try to cancel our college fests

300 Acer huge campus eco-friendly green campus. hostel are good some are old hostel but the new hostel mega hostel they are really good. although campus is not in the heart of Kozhikode city. we do have facilities nearby
no 1 college in Kerala for engineering. nirf ranking of 27
placement are great for computer science students

Dislikes

placements are good for core branches like mechanical and electrical
girls to boys ratio is very low. not many pretty girls
I've noticed that substance use is present on my college campus

Likes

Campus and its surroundings(clean).NITC campus is green campus and proper cleaning is done.
Tech and cultural Fests.NIT Calicut is famous for its cultural fest called Ragam(which is the biggest cultural fest in kerala) and Tech Fest tathva
Labs and Facilities are very good.They are well maintained.I basically belong to electrical engineering and machines are properly maintained and working properly

Dislikes

Plcements.For Computer science branch there is almost 100 percent placement.But for other branches it is not that much great.Only 40 percent of students from eee are placee till now.
frequent strikes.(conflicts between students and administration)

Admission:

I applied for NIT TRichy but didnt have enough jee mains rank to get in.However I'm planning for higher studies.For students like me NIT is not a great option as it demands huge fee.I got ECE in CETwhich is second-best college in kerala and is much cheaper than nitc.And now I regret not choosing CET

Likes

College campus is nice,clean and big.it also has gym and swimming pool.
College is great at education and it is tier 1 college.there is no ragging
For sports it has badminton court, table tennis, basketball, volleyball. Every hostel has indoor sports

Dislikes

There is reservation for Kerala students,so Kerala has more students than every other state students
Here girl to boy ratio is 3:1 , not Many girl are here
It has activate point system which is very bad

I applied to nit Trichy, warangal,surathkal etc. Because of my rank in jee mains I got this college It not bad college but other nits are better It is still tier 1 college and good college to got admission

Actually I thought to go to nit warangal and I also got seat in nit warangal in electronics and communication engineering (B.tech) but instead of freeze my mother kept float so the option above this one came in the next round . My worst mistake in my life time

Likes

Vibrant campus life with reserved events
Excellent placements for students with a good cgpa
Well equipment in lab and can gain good practical knowledge

Dislikes

Minor ragging with does not come notice to management
Lab expectations are not upto the mark .
Hostel facilities are not so good and old

Admission:

Nit is brand of respect in society so i choosed this college it is one of top 5 nits so placements are also at top peak I applied for few other college to just normally but my main focus is nit I got admission through JEE mains examination which I got a cut off of 99.59 percentile and a rank of 7355 of open category rank which made to get a seat in this college

Well, the answer is, it is completely depended on the branch that the student selects. However, the students' board examination and caste percentage also matter a lot in this regard.

Thereby, the actual thing is that if the student is from the OBC category and has 92% in the previous board examination, then only 160 marks are just enough to get right of entry in any decent branch, including Civil, EEE, Mech etc. but, if the student wants to get admission in CSE or ECE, then he or she has to score 180-190, at the minimum.

In the following previous year, cut-off (2020) is listed so that the student could find it beneficial.

The B.Arch. 2023 cutoff had been increased higher in comparison to the 2022 cutoffs. The OBC NCL category 2022 cutoff opening rank was 169 which increased to 69 in 2023.
