About College of Engineering
College of Engineering, Trivandrum was established in 1939 by Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, the Maharaja of Travancore. It is the first Engineering College in then Travancore State. The college has been accredited by NBA and affiliated to the University of Kerala and its architectural department is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram. It has been approved by AICTE.
The college offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, computer applications and architecture. Admission to the College of Engineering, Trivandrum to these courses are conducted every year.
The college aims to establish national level excellence and international visibility in every facet of engineering education. The college has maintained its prominence as a leading engineering college in India. It has proved its eminence in academic and co-curricular activities.
College of Engineering has started its 2022 placement drive, in which, 890 placement offers have already been made. 60% of the placement drive has been completed. 270 students received salary packages INR 6 LPA & more. 150 recruiters visited the campus. - The course curriculum follows the best syllabus. It follows the Kerala Technological University syllabus. The exam structure is also very good.
- The students are brilliant, and most of them find themselves according to their wishes.
Dislikes
- The syllabus revision for the Semester Based examination conducted by the University of Kerala was a bit slow and contained outdated content.
- The college does not provide internships. We have to find internships ourselves. They do offer opportunities for the same. Some companies, such as Saint Gobain and Benz, come to recruit students for internships; however, their selections are limited.

This college is the top engineering college in Kerala engineering. So the admission is little difficult. I had to write KEAM entrance exam. So if you can score within the first 1000 rank then you can get admission for computer science.

Admission is given by the office of entrance commissioner Kerala. It is based on the Kerala state engeneering entrance exam KEAM. Admission procedures are smooth. The entrance exam is computer based.semester begins usually on mid August

- The administration is a little lagging on providing proper and new lab equipments

Admission is through KEAM Exam and its based on The rank it may varie depending upon the reservation category of students. For generL the last rank varies from 3000-4000.the exam is comparatively easier the hack is to answer more question with lesser time. If you have a stronh plus two mark then. Prepare well for keam.

- The infrastructure.The college was built in 1939.Our new campus was built in 50 years ago.So it is very old and never maintained properly

The KEAM (Kerala entrance for engineering and Medicine) is the only way to get the admission.if you can achieve below 2000 rank,you will get the admission in core branches.you need below 500 rank for computer science.There is much amount reservation seats

Students who passed their +2 exam's are eligible for writing the entrance exam named "KEAM". Students are then allocated to different college under keam according to their choice and rank obtained in keam. Getting circuit branch in cet is difficult as your rank shoud be within 1500 for general.

- The fees!. College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) have a very low fee structure compared to NIT's IIT's and other private universities. We have a very good return of investment since most of the students first salary is their 4year College Fees.
- Have a very green environment and location of college is just 9km from Trivandrum city so a very peaceful environment but just a 20min ride to any hangout spaces
Dislikes
- Faculties are well qualified but somewhat lazy to teach
- Mechanical labs are getting less updations.
Admission:
The admission to the college is based on your rank in Kerala Engineering and Medical Entrance Examination (KEAM). Which will be notified in every newspapers and also in CEE website. From this year the entrance exam is computerised just like JEE which have 150 questions, Mathamatics - 75 Questions Physics -45 Questions. Chemistry - 30 Questions Total Time - 180 Minutes. Students who have high ranks in the entrance will get admission based on the demand to the course The starting admission rank in CET for State merit Category is from 100-150 and closing will be 6000. Courses like CSE,ECE etc have high demand hence need high ranks. There is OBC- NCl, Muslim,Gen-EWS and other reservations according to government orders. There will be certain rounds for allotments and the admission process after allotment is very simple and with proper documents it will be cleared by half a day.

- College provides a ton of opportunities to explore your talents outside the academic field.

- The temperature is usually very high. Some days in summer are unbearable .
- The faculty sometimes resort to teaching in malayalam which is difficult for non- keralite students to understand.
Admission:
The admission of a student is based on the rank published by CEE Kerala. The rank is decided by a student's score in KEAM exam and his/her 12th Exam percentage. Other details are available in KEAM Official website. The exam is easier thean JEE Mains exam. The cutoff is usually high as this is the best college under the Kerala Government. The rank list was published very late and admission process took a lot of days to complete.

- Vibrant campus with lots of cultural diversity. Students from all over Kerala are coming to this college to gather the best education they can. Each of them teach us different lessons on how to live In a society.
- The fests both cultural and technical gives alot of exposure

- Ktu syllabus the college is under is outdated
- Stray dogs are a growing concern that might be a harm for students

The admission is based on keam exam. Kerala engineering entrance exam. Inorder to be eligible you need a minimum pass mark. And to get into cet you need atleast a min cut off of 1700 rank for Circuit branches and 5k for non circuit branches.
