I choosed this course because of the growing opportunities in the field of computer science and i thought taking this course is nice for the future. The curriculum is very well structured so that it prepare us very suitable to land on a job as a software engineer without any difficulties. The area i thought they could improve is that they can make the computer science subjects a little more practical that the class should also be like a lab. Rather than theories. The examinations are conducted every 6th month and the difficulty is high.

the couse schedule is very tight, sometimes we get only 3 month time for class, later exam.this is a major concern,.the faculties was supportive towards the students and helped them to get a good score on exams.exams were a little bit difficult, but if you study the specific topics which are previously coming in question papers.

I have choosen the computer science branch and I am happy with that. Even though its my first year of being in this college, I can say that I have attended many workshops in the cs branch in this year. And I am sure these activities will surely help students to apply it in there future career.

The course btech electronics and communication is good enough for the good job and the betterment of the career.i think engineering the good field for the youth for the better society. The cochin university of science and technology is the best university in Kerala. It rank is first tm in the Kerala. And the good university among others and thr btech is good for job and led healthy life for the individuals.the course curriculum ithe best i think and it is good enough for the students. I think btech also so many negative. Nowadays there are so many btech peoples are around us but they didn't have good enough job for their qualification. Btech is good degree i think.... It have so many good quality and bad quality. The good quality of the btech is the it have so many opportunity for the job... At the same time the well job opportunity is less in btech

Cusat has an up-to-date curriculum which adds and removes portions to keep your syllabus relevent .Soe has a brand new curriculam since 2023.Its new curriculam has removed basic mechanics, civil, such subject from cs\ec\it\ee first year syllabus. This stops you from changing branch after first year.

The course is really interesting I am into computer science so I took this course There is internship every odd sem where you have to visit and work for the industry which makes you understand how the cooperative world works They could improve by reducing the time of classes as i think it's necessary for children to learn on their own ofcourse Exams happen every sem so like every 5-6 months you have main exam and 2-3 months your sub exam
CUSAT is a Govt. college and has a reputation around the globe. But it is up to you to make most of your time at the institute. One of my seniors attended CUSAT. Her experience at the institute was quite good. The institute has a great track record in each of its departments. You can read about its legacy on Wikipedia.
Faculty:
The faculty at the institute is great according to the students.
Infrastructure:

Funding:
You will get enough funding for your project at the institute.
Placements:
Over the years the institute has maintained a staller placement record. The table below highlights the recent placement statistics at the institute.
Average CTC |
INR 4.7 LPA |
Highest CTC |
INR 15 LPA |
Major Recruiters |
Cisco, L&T, TCS |
To conclude, CUSAT is a great option for CSE.
Choosing between two colleges can be a difficult decision, and it ultimately depends on various factors such as your passion to learn and attain knowledge, personal preferences, career goals, and individual circumstances.
Here are some key points to consider when comparing the B.Tech Computer Science programs at TKM College of Engineering (TKMCE) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT):
Both TKMCE and CUSAT offer quality B.Tech Computer Science programs, and the decision ultimately depends on your personal preferences and career goals. It's recommended to research and compare the colleges based on the factors mentioned above and make an informed decision.
The eligibility for admission in CSE at CUSAT depends on various factors, such as the number of candidates appearing for the exam, the difficulty level of the paper, and the cutoff trends from previous years. However, based on previous year trends, with 258 marks in CUSAT CAT, you have a good chance of being eligible for CSE at CUSAT.
As for the approximate rank, it is difficult to determine the exact rank as the rank is influenced by various factors, such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of students appearing for the exam, and the previous year's cutoff. However, based on previous year trends, your estimated rank could be in the range of 1000 to 2000.
Admission to CUSAT is not solely based on the CUSAT CAT score or rank. There are other factors, such as reservation policy, which may affect your admission chances. Therefore, it is recommended to check the official website of CUSAT for the latest updates and information regarding the admission process.
Both the Cochin University of Science And Technology (CUSAT) and Federal Institute of Science And Technology (FISAT) are very good institutes and have almost similar rankings in the state of Kerala. Now you can compare both the institutes on various parameters. I have taken two broad and the most popular parameters for this comparison.
Placement - In this regard, the School of Engineering (SoE) of CUSAT is better than FISAT. According to the recent placement statistics, the average and highest CTC offered at CUSAT is 4 LPA and 15 LPA respectively. Cochin University College of Engineering Kuttanad (CUCEK) campus of CUSAT is also similar to SoE in terms of placements.
Infrastructure - Here FISAT takes an upper hand and has better facilities than both SoE and CUCEK. SoE is slightly good and is comparable to FISAT but CUCEK lacks a lot of facilities compared to both.
So it totally depends on you and what your priorities are. If you only aim for placements then choose CUSAT. If you want good infrastructure, then FISAT is preferable.
CS in CUSAT is the 2nd most sought out subject after Naval Architecture. In the CUSAT entrance exam the first few seats are filled in the Naval Architecture branch then the CS seats. In all the branches first, the seats are filled in the main campus and then in the second campus.
According to the previous year’s report, the required cutoff for CS in the first round was 740. While in the third round the cutoff was 1037. Going by the cutoff trends, I will say you have a good chance of getting CS on the main campus.
CUSAT and TKM both take students based on CET. Students always land in confusion between these two. CUSAT also admits students based on the KEAM score. Being a student of CUSAT, I can say it is better than TKM in several ways.
Categories | CUSAT | TKM |
Course Fee | 3.53 lakh | 8410 (1st year) |
Highest CTC | 15 LPA | 12 LPA |
Average CTC | 7 LPA | 3.5-5 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | TCS, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, etc. | Oracle, Wipro, Microsoft, Infosys, etc. |
CUSAT is situated in Kochi which is a beautiful city and also an industrial hub. So students will definitely benefit from the nearby industries. CUSAT is a university established on its own hard work. It has its specially made curriculum and revised topics which proves beneficial to the students
SASTRA is a better option for engineering in Computer Science, considering the enormous opportunities provided by the institute. CUSAT is a better option than CUSAT, the notable differences are not below:
The table below gives a brief level of comparison between the two institutes.
Particulars |
CUSAT 2023 |
SASTRA 2023 |

9.3 LPA |
Highest Salary Offered (CSE) |

Therefore, SASTRA will be a better choice than CUSAT based on these facts. Although there are advantages to both universities, SASTRA stands out for its reputation for academic brilliance, extensive extracurricular possibilities, and state-of-the-art facilities.
