- For admission in B.TECH and MCA courses, the students must clear the CUSATCAT exam conducted every year through Cochin University of Science and Technology(CUSAT).
- For the B.TECH course the students need to full fill the following criteria:
- Candidates must pass 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as primary subjects.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Mathematics. + KEAM Score.
- Diploma or Vocational completed students are not eligible to appear for CUSAT CAT
- For the MCA course, the eligibility criteria is a Graduate degree with 60% and marks in CUSAT CAT.

- The syllabus is very impressive and worthy; most of it is from the IIT curriculum.
- Many companies come to our college, and students who are eligible and perform well in interviews get selected.
Dislikes
- This is not mandatory in case we want to intern; the college is not granting leave either, so the college administration sucks.
- Basically, there are no other extracurricular activities in which we can indulge. The only alternative is sports, which is also not supported by the college. Labs are inadequate, and students from certain branches have to go to Cochin to attend labs due to the poor facilities here.

- Location of this college is not as per your expectations. In rainy season, colleges are off because there is a lot of water surroundings in your hostel, colleges. Sometimes you have to vacate you hostel.
- Only one famous shop is available m.c stores where you get edible items if you want to go restaurants, theatre, then either you take bus or you have to go through your own bike.

The major eligibility of getting admission for this college is to pass CUSAT CAT examinations. Cutoff list will be generated from the university after examinations. It takes 1 months and then you have to do counseling for taking admission in this college. All admission process is online, also after online admission spot admission facility is available. Reservation facilities for Kerala student is too much they can take admission easily. CAT examination is not much hard you just have to learn ncert and crack the examination. Some more seats should have to increase for other states.

After a diploma in computer engineering from the government polytechnic college Kalamassery, I attended the lateral entry test for btech. Then I got a seat at cochin university college of Engineering, Kuttanad in alappuzha district. I got admission to the 3rd semester of btech. That is one advantage of this lateral entry test. And this entrance is only for diploma holders. The admission process was very simple. The details about the admission date, and available seats, all will be published on their college website. I am a diploma holder in computer engineering. So I applied for btech in computer science and engineering. You can choose any subject. There is no college hostel. There are a lot of hostels run by the local parties around the college. They will directly contact you during the admission process in college. You can visit their hostels and can select any of them.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose Btech in Information Technology because I am really interested in the field of IT and always wanted to learn how to create app, websites etc. The placements for IT in CUSAT is awesome. Almost every student in their seventh semester gets placed in MNCs. The faculty here is really great with friendly professors having masters degree. Almost all of them are well experienced and many have Phd in their fields.They are always ready to help you regarding your subjects. The teacher to student ratio is 1:20 and the university is trying to make it to 1:8. They teach the students with patience and always clears our doubts at any time. They never feel exhausted while teaching. During the course of study, ther are 2 internal exams and 1 external exam for each semester. The curriculum of IT is relatively simple and it is not that much difficult to pass the exam. First year wilk be little tough but if you work smart and hard you can easily pass it. Rest of the years are easy that you can pass it with just 1 or 2 weeks of preparation.
Admission:
Less tidy environment, salty water and lack of fundamental facilities like buildings.
