I chose Mining engineering cuzz it's something which is not common and not offered by every college But the first year in college consists of common subjects for all and the actual course based study starts from the second year. Curriculum is a bit hectic as there is continuous evaluation and almost every month u will be having exams but hey u can manage it no need to worry.. As it is not as difficult as jee mains where in u need too much focus and dedication..

The curriculum here in NITK is one of the finest curriculums among all nits. The faculty here is very good they all are phd certified members. The curriculum of NITK is stress free and student likely. There will be no exam stress. The corrculum is designed in such a way that all should face real world applications

As a mining student in NITK , its a good branch you will get a huge of free time in which you can use it for developing your other skills ,like coding , video editing , photography etc... and in mining sector also many profesor are good they teaches well. Curriculum of mining is easy if you are ready 1 week beforb exam also you can wasily score 9+ cgpa . In NITK mainly 4 exams will be taken , 1st quiz(10%) , mid sem(25%) , 2nd quiz(15%) and end sem(50%). Quizes will be of 30 mins mid sem will be of 1.5 hr and end sem 3 hr

I had an interest in mining and it is a core job. The faculty-student ratio is 1:5 which is a good number. The teachers here have completed their Ph.D. in various iits so the teachers are great. The exams are moderate in nitk we are having main two exams one is mid sem and end sem.
Some of the new faculty (mostly phd students) are not very good, but all other professors are excellent in there respective field and are very intelligent , well qualified, very helpful and also support students in research field. We have regular classes, premium quality labs ensure amazing educational experience. The course curriculum is relevent and useful.
I get this course according to my rank The faculty and students ratio is good in my college There are approx. 5 faculty per 100 students. Faculty are well educated and also have great teaching skills with a proper degree. In a period of semester there are two terms exams mid term and end-term and they are average.
Faculty is best in all Nit's and most of them are ph.d holders and had very good experience in their respective field. Their way of teaching is very good and using all the tools like projector, videos etc. Curriculum is students friendly and any background student has the choice to take the few courses into others beaches such CSE, IT etc. It's flexible and student can choose as per their choice even management course too.Academics management is proper and exam and others college activities is being managed properly.
The fees structure is feasible for rich and some what a little bit tough for middle class and too tough for poor so banks are present when paying for fees they give loans and we pay and after getting placement we repay
There is no clear winner in this comparison. If you are interested in Mining Engineering and want to learn fundamental and core technicalities, then NIT Surathkal will be better. As an institute, NITK is better than other engineering colleges in Karnataka. It offers better academics, exposure, facilities, and campus life. For Mining, NIT Surtahkal placements are great. Coal India visits NITK for recruiting students. The average CTC received by the students of this bench is INR 5-6 LPA.
But if you aren’t particularly interested in Mining Engineering, then you should choose CSE at PES University. In the current industry landscape, CSE offers better placements with cushy salary packages.
