NITK Surathkal Scholarship 2024: Fees & Facilities
Several National and International Scholarship schemes are available for the students of NIT Surathkal which are offered on the basis of merits scored by the students in the last qualifying examination/entrances. Some of the popular Scholarship schemes at NIT Surathkal are mentioned below.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship:
- NIT Surathkal offers Merit Cum Means Scholarship to its top 50 meritorious students every year on the basis of merits scored by the students in the JEE Main exam.
- The MCM Scholarship is only offered to the students whose annual family income is less than INR 4,50,000 and should have scored a minimum of 70% marks or above in their 10+2 examination.
- Students are awarded a sum of INR 2000 per month as a Scholarship award.
Merit Scholarships:
- Merit Scholarships at NIT Surathkal are only awarded to the top 5 students every year on the basis of their merits in JEE Main entrance examination.
- In order to be eligible for the merit scholarship, a student should have scored a minimum of 90% marks or above in the 10+2 level examinations.
- A sum of INR 10,000 is awarded per annum as a Scholarship award to the students.
Pradeep Gundappa Memorial Scholarship:
- The Pradeep Gundappa Memorial Scholarship is offered on the basis of the merits scored by the students of NIT Surathkal in the JEE Main Entrance examination.
- Students having annual family income less than INR 3,00,000 per annum and a minimum of 70% marks at 10+2 level are eligible to avail the facility of Pradeep Gundappa Memorial Scholarship.
- Students are awarded a sum of INR 2000 for 8 semesters as a Scholarship Award.
Commonwealth Scholarship UK:
- The Commonwealth Scholarship UK is offered to the students pursuing master's and doctoral degree programs at NIT Surathkal.
- However, the Scholarship is only offered to the students of the internationally ranked institutions under QS Rankings of World Universities.

- Students-run clubs are very active and very helpful, they help us learn valueable skills in academic as well as non academic fields
- Hostels are very well maintained and clean, even first-year hostels are spacious and adequate.
Dislikes
- The weather is very humid, anybody not accustomed to perspiring a lot will find it difficult.
- Some departments are very strict and very ambiguous in their curriculum. Its difficult to score good marks at such situations.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Since it is a government institution. The fees charged is nominal and very affordable with exemptions for reservation students. Its about a lakh a year for others, and even that is less than most colleges in the country
Likes
- I like college life beache and many more things. In my college there is good senior junior relationship.
- Their is tech fest called engineer and cultural fest called incident.
Dislikes
- I hate mostly exam dates. There is usually no gaps between tough subject exams.
- There is many group like telgu Tamil, north south people.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
There is not so much like in college fees this is standard per semester fees like other nits. The complete cost of your degree is somewhere 8 lahks for 4 year degree. There are a lot of scholarships like Nap, income-based tuition fee reimbursement, sc st scholarship. Scholarship for girls merit cum scholarship etc. I don't have any scholarship right now but I have applied for a merit cum means scholarship
Likes
- Main attraction for others and me is placement and internship. Return of investment is very good in undergraduate programs.
- Location of college is good. Transportation facility is nice and it is near to a big city 'mangalore'.
Dislikes
- Climate is one of the problems. There are only two things, one is rain and other is high temperature.
- Water shortage is another problem. Due to this, student suffer in his/her daily schedule as well as in other things.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Tuition is 62500 for a semester. Which sums as 500000. Then there are are other charge which include one-time charges and per year charges. Other fees will increase by 5% every year. Mess and hostel fees is around 35000 per semester. Total fees for a year is around 2 lacks. It includes everthing. Many scholarships are there such as merit cum scholarship and many are based on caste. So ST-SC-Pwd can avail them. Other than this, 100% tution fee remession is provided to students having family income less than 1 lack per annum or if they are ST-SC-Pwd. 2/3 tuition fee remession is for student having family income less than 5 lack per annum. I think there is no campus employement here.

- The indoor and out door games facilities are good
Dislikes
- Some of the rules during the exams are strict
- Proper dress code need to be followed daily.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Our campus is mostly famous for the On campus placements and we are also having a record of holding 100% placement success since 5 years. Coming to the course fee its not too high but we need to complete some certificate courses which we need to pay which is not included in the course fee.

- Campus is very huge, beautiful and secure. Hostels are also well built and equipped with all required facilities.
- Many opportunities are available like working under well established professors, technical and non technical clubs, sports, quality of education and even startup culture is appreciated and blooming.
Dislikes
- Hostels have issues like water and power outages, hostel mess is below average.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Tution fee is Rs. 62500 per semester which is very less compared to private engineering colleges. Not only the course, but working under technical and non technical clubs helps us gain experience and also teaches real life values like team management, work-life balance etc., Various scholarships are provided throughout the course.
Likes
- The campus is really very beautiful like which college in whole India have its own private beach but our college do have it xd. The infrastructure is very good like you will get proper lighted classrooms and even the classrooms are fully furnished.
- The course is very well prepared and even the curriculum is best. Teaching method is very good, the teachers are so cooperative and are highly qualified (ofcourse many of them are from iits). They are really passing about teaching and research. )
Dislikes
- There are no such bad things about the college but one thing that may bother some people is the language barrier (if you are from north). It will take some time to adjust to the food(but it is far better than other colleges).
- Common man you are in one of the top NITs there are no such rigid things which you can dislike about the college. It is the best place to spend your four years of graduation.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
As mentioned earlier the total tuition fee per sem is 62500 but if your family income is less than 1 lakh per annum complete fee remission is provided and if it is between 1 lakh to 5 lakh per annum then 50% of the tuition fee remission is provided by the college. And yes there will be lot of scholarships and financial provided by the govt. which any student can avail.

- The teachers are very knowledgeable and they teach us very well
- Nature is also very good. We have beach also in the college premises.
Dislikes
- Mess food is not goodb. It is below average
- Fees is also very high. They take fees of one semester as 6 month but semester is completed in 3-4 months . And they not refund the left money.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Total fees of master degree in technology for two years is 366000 including hostel and mess fees . You have to pay around 110000 at the time of admission and remaining is sem wise you have to pay. Education loan is provided if someone want it , by sbi bank and canara bank at very low interest. In nitk fees is less compared to other nits
Likes
- The college was good with good number of teachers who taught us the most challenging subjects within a short time. Real time examples were given during the class hours which helped in the learning process. During the exams, these examples were useful
- There is good scope to grow here and showcase your talent. Many industry leaders were brought here that provided a realtime glimpse of the current market trends and the skills that are required to accquire for the students on priority basis.
Dislikes
- Food of the mess could have been better and should have been more hygenic. North indian food options are limited. If you are late, you might miss the dinner in the late night. Also non veg counters are limited that leads to less number of items.
- The bathrooms in the hotels could have been maintained better. Water scarcity is a problem during the hot summer days. If you are running late then you might miss your bath and toilet. Maintainane and strictness could have been better for students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
This college is good in terms of ROI and charges less fess as compared to the other provate mba colleges. The intership opportunities are great and tgere are scholarship provided for the highest performing students.

- The college environment is good for the study . Here you you will get so many opportunities to learn new things. You will make good friends circle. Who will be always there for you at any situation
- Hear you can be part of so many different clubs. You can learn new things apart from study also you can follow you passion along with doing study
Dislikes
- Only thing that I dislike was that hear even sem get shorter than the odd sem due to shortage of water at the time of summer
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
So you will get 12400 per month if you are taking the admission through CCMT and I think cource fee structure is quite mediam. It may be varry nearly 5% percentage every year . Hear you can get education lone if you don't want take money from your parents . so It has affordable fee structure.

- Apart from academic there is so many thning to enjoy, like fest sports

- Course curriculum is not that much updated only 2 3 subjects are relevant others simply waste of time
- Weathere is too bad, too much temperature humidity and all

Actually fees is too high. In first semester I paid around 1,10,000 for college and hostel and this is too much. Around 3.6lac fees I have to pay in 2yr course. I am getting scholarship from gate 12400 per month. To get scholarship everyday we have to give biometric and maximum 30 leave we can take in a year. In my campus 2 banks are there and we can get easily loan
