NITK Surathkal Scholarship 2024: Fees & Facilities
Several National and International Scholarship schemes are available for the students of NIT Surathkal which are offered on the basis of merits scored by the students in the last qualifying examination/entrances. Some of the popular Scholarship schemes at NIT Surathkal are mentioned below.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship:
- NIT Surathkal offers Merit Cum Means Scholarship to its top 50 meritorious students every year on the basis of merits scored by the students in the JEE Main exam.
- The MCM Scholarship is only offered to the students whose annual family income is less than INR 4,50,000 and should have scored a minimum of 70% marks or above in their 10+2 examination.
- Students are awarded a sum of INR 2000 per month as a Scholarship award.
Merit Scholarships:
- Merit Scholarships at NIT Surathkal are only awarded to the top 5 students every year on the basis of their merits in JEE Main entrance examination.
- In order to be eligible for the merit scholarship, a student should have scored a minimum of 90% marks or above in the 10+2 level examinations.
- A sum of INR 10,000 is awarded per annum as a Scholarship award to the students.
Pradeep Gundappa Memorial Scholarship:
- The Pradeep Gundappa Memorial Scholarship is offered on the basis of the merits scored by the students of NIT Surathkal in the JEE Main Entrance examination.
- Students having annual family income less than INR 3,00,000 per annum and a minimum of 70% marks at 10+2 level are eligible to avail the facility of Pradeep Gundappa Memorial Scholarship.
- Students are awarded a sum of INR 2000 for 8 semesters as a Scholarship Award.
Commonwealth Scholarship UK:
- The Commonwealth Scholarship UK is offered to the students pursuing master's and doctoral degree programs at NIT Surathkal.
- However, the Scholarship is only offered to the students of the internationally ranked institutions under QS Rankings of World Universities.

- The syllabus is not tough but lengthy, the classes and works aur too hectic here you will able to get enough to explore new things, see new domains work on your interests...
- Very small semesters are there nearly about 4 months odd sem and 25 days vacation after it in even sem it is even shorter than the odd one just of 3-3.5 months and rest are holidays nearly about 3.5 months vacation.. Such irregularity in conduction

- There is a lot to explore in college.. you get to be a part of multiple clubs and organise lot of events, this helps you to get experience in every field
- There is a private beach in our college, this is very helpful as whenever we feel stressed out, we find peace at beach

- There are lot of exams frequently, so there's a lot of workload we need to learn proper management
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The total fees yearly is around 2L.. it includes 1.5L of tuition fees and rest 30k for mess and other 30k for hostel room. This fee structure is for general category students.. for sc/st and other economic weaker sections the tuition fees is not considered and they have to pay just for mess and hostel

- I liked the exposure here as it is one of the best colleges of our country, great brains, great ideas
- I also liked the greenery here as there are trees everywhere well maintained.
Dislikes
- Disliked the discrimination here for northies although its very less.
- Disliked the management in some instances
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
?62,500 yearly tution fees. ?35,310 for hostel+ mess. For SC/ST and PWD candidates, the tution fees is none, and for Obc-ncl, gen-ews candidates, there is 66% tution fee remission if the family income is between ?1-5 lakhs, and full tution fee remission if family income less than ?1 lakh.
For SC/ST candidates:-
Engineers India Limited scholarship: ?3000 per month.
Academic performance incentive: ?18000 for scoring 8

- The weather is very hot and very humid .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Fees payment is done on a semester basis. There are two semesters in a year. The tuition fees are around 62500 per semester and additions fees come somewhere between 15-30k per year. Hostellers have to pay aditional hostel rent of arounf 6-8k and an additional 30k for mess and other hostel charges per semester

- The sports complex is the best part as it is very well made.

- The 75% attendance rule is very strict over here.
- Some of the profs that you get don’t really know what they are teaching .

Tuition fee is 62500 in 3rd sem and 4th sem. Then there is library fee of 2440 Career development fee of 1220 Health care facilities 1220 Student activities fee 5470 Campus amenities 1220 etc All these extra payments only need to be made in the first sem of the year. Hostel rent (water/electricity charge) 7300 And then total fees comes to 154730 per year

- Overall it is completely fine.Clg has good infrastructure,good climate.
- Good placements, Decent mess,All the fests and events in college.

- Schedule sometimes.And politics during student elections,groupism.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
SC & ST students have no college fee.They need to pay only hostel and mess fee.During my period it is 36500 per semester.where as students from OC,EWS etc and other commitments have to pay both college and hostel,mess fee.It is around 62500 per semester.Meritorious students and students from SC/ST and other communities used to get scholarships too based on few parameters considering their family income and some other rules.Fee might increase or decrease yearly considering various factors.

- The clubs here are good enough to conduct many good events almost every week, and infrastructure here is also good which they are more developing now. Academics wise this college is pretty decent, to learn things and all, labs here are best.
- The girls to boys ratio is like below than average only, coming to my class, that ratio is like 1:5, out of which almost all the girls are already committed,
Dislikes
- The people family who have annual income more than 8 had to pay loads of fees for everything, that is much more burden, and makes no sense in not giving scholarship to them, so that systen is to be changed
- Because my college nitk is on beach, we only have 2 seasons here, either rainy or summer, in both seasons its full of humidity, early morning here itll be like 70% humidity, here it sweats alot.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Iam doing btech in ece branch , where for each semester the academics fee will be some where around 75k, and other than that mess fee is different which is 33k for each semester. And iam from obc and have income certificate with annual income of 11lpa+ , so i won't get any fee remissions and no scholarships also, where many people get almost 100% fee remission and extra scholarships. For people having income certificate with less than 2lpa , they will not be charged with any academic fee, that means only 30k for mess for each semester will be charged. For sc and st people they don't care about income certificate, directly they clear your academic fees.

- Cultural fests and celebrating all kinds of festival without any religious dispute
Dislikes
- Introverted people will have to face issues becauss a lot of talented people are present
- Tough to find like minded people and socialising is important and making connection with good seniors is also important

Hey guys, firstly I'm pursuing my btech in mining engineering from nit surathkal the fee structure like normally is around 60500 for the tuition fee and hostel and mess would be 35800 (approx) and the category students are not supposed to pay tuition fee and the people whose family income is less gets small amount of fee back and the scholarships offered here at nitk is pretty good there are Saperate scholarship scheme for females as well Overall i would say that nitk is pretty good with campus life and placements

- First thing I would like to address is beach . NIT K have its own private beach .where you can rejuvenate yourself if u are looking for peace wit the hectic day.
- Seondly , I would like to address on the Placements .NITK have diverse placeement scenario in various domains such as in core and Tech roles

- Things I dislike is weather. Since there is a beach over here ,You can expect high humidity with respect to your home towns and residence
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
For Particular Semester the tution fees is 62000 .If your Income is less than 1 lakh for a OBC and EWS ,then tutuion fee is exempted . If your Income is in between 1 lac to 5 lac ten you need to pay 1/3 rd of tutio fees and If your fees is above 5 lac then you need to pay whole tution fees. Hosel fees is around 8k ,Whereas Mess fees is around 22K and Other miscellaneous such as Caution fees , sports fees , career development fee , Student activities fees and more will be around 20 k. Those who cant afford as this huge amount then they can think of about Loan from educational institute or Can apply for various scholarships sucha as Foundation of Ecellence ,reliance Foundation Scholarship ,NSP and SSP

- The people who get admitted here are mostly very knowledgeable so the company we have is good.
Dislikes
- Since it is a government college the hostel rooms arent that of a good standard.
- The weather in this side of the state is hard to get used to considering extreme heat and rain

Since it is a government college the tuition fee for the first year is a total of 1.4 lakhs. After this each semester fees is dependent on the course opted. For a mechanical degree every odd sem is nearly 70000 while an even semester fee is 80000.
