- KEAM 2024 Result Date is June 20, 2024.
- The document verification, and choice filling for COMEDK UGET 2024 counselling process is expected to begin in July 2024.
- For admission to M.Tech, MBA and MCA courses, candidates can apply for Karnataka PGCET till June 20, 2024. The exam is scheduled for July 13, 20248 to July 14, 2024.
About VTU
VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) is a public university established in 1998 in Belgaum, Karnataka. VTU is one of India's largest technological universities. VTU has also been approved by AICTE & UGC. Visvesvaraya Technological University has 182 affiliated colleges, 1 constituent college, and 25 autonomous colleges. VTU has four regional centres spread across Belagavi, Bengaluru, Kalaburgai, and Mysuru. It was certified with Grade "B++" by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). VTU Admission 2024
VTU is a multidisciplinary institution that offers a wide range of engineering, technology, and management programs. Around 3 lakh engineering students attend the university's associated institutes, where they study under 37 UG programs, 96 PG programs, and Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.) research programs taught by 7 faculty members. The UG program offers degrees such as B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral), B.Plan, and B.Arch, and admission is based on scores in JEE Main, KCET, and NATA.

The VTU provides financial assistance to the students in the form of scholarships and fellowships so that they can continue their studies without facing any financial hurdles in their way. VTU Youth Fest, also known as Intercollegiate Fest, is organized by the university. Student to get admission in this college he/she should passed out in puc/ diploma, have pursed good rank in the kcet/comdek/jee examination so that he /she can join the course which they opted for. Application form is given by college itself and there is no application fee in this college and application dates are mentioned in the order copy of the KCT and the student should join the college within that date as mentioned in the kcet order copy of the particular student. The students who have completed their education in the rural sector and the studied in the government college/school can come under the rural Kota and have reservation in the particular field and some other fields like Hyderabadi Karnataka and ews . Admission process in the college should be digitalized because of travelling issue in the offline admission process. They conducted to internals in every sem which consists of 25 marks and include internals and externals exam which consists of maximum 100 marks.

Dislikes
- The college campus is very huge which means we students have to travel long distance by foot everyday. The distance from the main gate to the college is 1km which sometimes has to be covered on foot.
- The teachers though having good knowledge about the subject they are not so good at teaching. Some lectures have attitude problem and this tends to discourage the students.
Admission:
The cutoffs vary for different streams. As I joined through Comet ke examination the cut off for me was around 30000 in the third round of comedk counseling for the course of information science and engineering. There are three internals that are conducted on a monthly basis and the same and examination is conducted every semester. The difficulty level of the examinations is medium. The admission process is pretty easy and convenient for the students.

The admission is only offline and the application forms are given at the admission office.The eligibility for the course is that 12th/2nd puc the student must have gotten minimum 60% and should have written any competitive exam .For the lower castes/weaker economy there are many scholarships.

My friend graduated from Visvesvaraya Technological University with a gold medal. She ranked amongst the top ten students with the highest aggregate in CS.
It is calculated by the average of total marks of the last four semesters. A Gold medal becomes a dream if you fail in any of the subjects.
There are 2 types of Gold medals are of two types:
- Merit Gold medal is given to those with the highest aggregate in their major/branch.
- Endowment Gold medals are sponsored in different categories like for bright students of different categories and gender-based distribution.
Getting a gold medal is not impossible. Follow 2-3 additional books, study throughout the year and understand the core engineering and mathematical concepts. Internal assessments should be taken seriously as well. Be clear in your intentions and don't budge because there'll be distractions, but you can make your mark if you will it.
Should I apply for VTU revaluation?
One of my friends applied for revaluation in 7 semesters for more than 20 subjects. His scores also increased. The only thing to keep in mind is to apply for it if you are confident that your answers are not checked properly and deserve better marks.
Consider these points before applying:
- Go ahead with it only if it feels extremely necessary.
- Mainly review the questions you have answered and left, Check the answers again.
- See the scoring pattern of your classmates selectively.
- Check the University analysis on the subject in ‘fast VTU results’.
- Your presentation of answers on that day.
- Discuss it with your faculty.
- Judge the gap in mindset between you and the 1st evaluator (If you are familiar with it).
Make a wise decision. Do not fall for rumors, apply only if you are confident about it.
Why is VTU called the worst university?
Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is not considered the worst university but surely has many flaws. These include the following:
- The syllabus is more than a decade old and the rate at which technology and science are growing, VTU is failing to catch up.
- The evaluation process is very poor. There is a very high chance that your marks will increase every time you apply for revaluation.
- VTU is one of the largest universities in India with 212 colleges affiliated with it. Most of the colleges have below-average laboratories, campus facilities, research centers, and poor placements.
- Students graduating from these institutes score less marks and thus lose placement opportunities.
- VTU’s standard of faculty is really low.
One of the things that bother aspirants is the reservation system. If you are an SC/ST belonging to the state of Karnataka then you have no problem in getting a good college with little effort through CET. If you are a general candidate then everything depends on your work.
I have done my B E from VTU and my aggregate is 52 I had many backlogs What is a way to calculate my VTU percentage if anyone had backlogs?
The aggregate marks do not carry much importance as they are the passing marks you scored in all semesters. Don't worry about backlogs that much. Calculate your marks after clearing them.
Now, degree percentage is different at every university, and VTU will calculate your score based on your performance from 5th-8th semesters and show that on your degree.
However, the good news is that outside VTU, you should state your overall percentage which is your actual percentage.
How can I change my branch in VTU?
In order to change your branch, you need to be a 3rd-semester student without any backlogs in the previous 2 semesters. If you satisfy these criteria then go through the following steps:
- Consider talking to your faculty advisor (proctor) in your present department and highlight the reasons for your change of branch.
- Take his/her permission and signature on your application addressed to your Head of Department (HoD).
- If you do not have a faculty advisor (proctor) then, directly talk to your HOD highlighting your interest in the new branch you aspire to change and then take his/her permission and signature on your application.
- If the HoD agrees, then he/she will forward your letter to the Principal.
- Once you get it approved by the principal, you need to go to your college's administrative office.
- Pay the VTU fees (INR 2500) and required semester college fees (depends on your college).
After this, you will have successfully completed the procedure.
How can I get a migration certificate from VTU? What are the details and signatures required on the form?
According to the information I got online, if your college is affiliated then you just have to fill the migration application form that is provided on the VTU website and then fill in all the details.
In the last line forwarded to VTU registrar ”...this is to certify…” you can either ask your new college academic person to fill it.
Or ask your college a bonafide certificate or study certificate and pin that with the application form alongwith the e-payment SBI fee receipt.
Get your degree certificate / provisional degree certificate attested from any gazetted officer by showing them the original copy.
Then post the whole document by speed post to the address mentioned on the website of VTU that is to the registrar.
After receiving your post they will transfer the migration certificate to your new college.
VTU had recently cancelled the year back system. Does it apply for CBCS students too?
VTU hasn’t canceled the year-back system. You will still get a year back if you get more than four backlogs in a year. But having backlogs previous to the previous year won’t result in a year-back. The rules are as follows.
- Students who have less than four backlogs in the first two semesters are eligible for the second year.
- Students who have less than four backlogs in the four semesters of the first year and second year are eligible to move to the third year.
- Students who have the required credits for first year and don’t have more than four backlogs in four semesters of second and third year are eligible for fourth year.
So, you will still get a year-back, if you have more than four backlogs in an academic year.
