Course Cirriculum is mediocre . Since mostly students are intersted in CSE subjects . PEC provide may oppurtunies from different branches students to opt cse subjects . Class attendence is usually depends from teacher to teacher but mostly there is no attendence issue.

According to me the curriculum is very well planned. It might be a bit hectic at the beginning but it is actually beneficial for the students. The education is well divided to ensure both practical and theoretical knowledge of the students

Electronics and communication is one of the best branches. It provides anyone with an edge to choose from core or software field. Even as Artificial Intelligence is growing rapidly, this branch is expecting a rapid growth, even India is building up many semiconductor sites across different states. The curriculum is made according to our course and even daughter branches like VLSI have been added. Now, students are having to learn more by opting minor courses as per their wish. Even many other courses are being added by the college for students recently. This is the area where we might think that the college need to improve. Examinations are conducted on very sincerely basis with easy to moderate difficulty level mostly. But they are frequent throughout the semester and part of the evaluation. The Marking is relative like any other IIT.

I chose this course because ECE in PEC is a reputed course with high placements up to 84 LPA. The faculty is well qualified and teaching is done through PPTs which makes the learning process smooth and easy but some faculty is quite lazy and don't give a lot of time to the students. The exams were conducted in a hurry given the COVID batch.

This course (electronics and communication engineering) is a highly growing field and it is an interesting field also at my rank this was the best field and college for me at that time. Now coming to the college faculty each branch is divided into two sections one is for home state students i.e. Chandigarh ones and the other is for outsiders each section has 60 students so there is not much interaction between students and teachers if we see the ratio but the faculty is good they all are p.hd. holders from different good colleges But talking about teaching methods they just come and teach from the PPTs and go, so most of the time we just have to study on our own like the culture of Indian government colleges. The exams we give are mid-seems and end-sem which are in between the semester and at the end of the semester respectively. They are not that difficult one should go through the questions done in class and do a little practice, that's it, there will be some quizzes and assignments also.

In CSE and ECE branches college placements are quite good. The student-faculty ratio is about 1:15. Most of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders from renowned institutions in the country. They are always ready to solve problems faced by the students. College exams were of mediocre level i.e if you study well whole semester you will not face any problem and can pass exams with good cgpa. The curriculum of the syllabus is also not quite difficult.
The curriculum includes core courses targeting the electronics and communication field on the extended level. The faculty Staff is supportive and full of knowledge. The interaction in practical's and tutorials along with classes is the most fascinating. There are groups of 60 students per teacher. The exams are fully concept based which is required by most companies.
My course is Electronics and Communications engineering which is quite tough in its nature. The faculty is experienced in most of the subjects. Most resources can be found easily and classmates are a lot of help before exams.
Exams are not so timely. The academic calendar ran very fast for our year thanks to covid. So our exams got postponed by 10-12 days in view of non-completion of course work. It was very easy to pass. there is relative grading here So you fail only when you sit in your room all day doing nothing.
I have chosen this course because I love to work with electronics components. The faculty are quite good in PEC. The teaching method was awesome which included visualizations and all. It was like mid sems and end sems only difficulty matters on how you've prepared.
One of my friends studied at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, so I will be able to share some information about their placement process, drives, etc.

Students also get placed by mass recruiters like TCS, or Infosys. But it will be better if you get recruiters from core companies. Therefore, a package of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, is good. Most students get placed. So, if you are thinking of joining PEC, then go ahead with it.
For an ECE degree, PEC Chandigarh can be a better choice, considering the factor that there is quite a good number of core companies visiting the campus for placement. The table below gives a brief level of comparison among the two institutes.

Key Highlights:
Therefore, students can consider the above factors as a point of advice and make choices accordingly.
PEC University of Technology, which was formerly renowned across India as Punjab Engineering College is among the premier technical institutions of the nation. In fact, back in 1994, it was called the best technical institution India ever had by the National Foundation of Indian Engineers (NAFEN).
In brief, the department of electronics and communication engineering (ECE), which was primarily known as the Department of Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering started with an intake capacity of around 30 students. As the time passed, it subsequently saw an increment to 60 with regard to the competence of the infrastructure, besides the faculty of the department itself.
The intake capacity of PEC Chandigarh has gradually seen an upward slope of 75 students from 2014 - 15 and 120 students from 2016 - 17 onwards. You can check the recent stats of the intake capacity of the institution if necessary.
The department of ECE in PEC Chandigarh is considered to be extremely good. It also has a good placement record.

Choosing between NIT Patna in ECE and PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering can be a difficult decision. It depends on your interests, career goals, and personal preferences. Here are some factors to consider that can help you make an informed decision:
NIT Patna in ECE:
PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering:
Therefore, to choose between the two, you need to consider your interests, career goals, and your preferences. If you are interested in electronics, communication, and signal processing, and want to pursue a career in this field, NIT Patna in ECE may be the best choice for you. However, if you are interested in mechanical engineering, design, manufacturing, and robotics, and want to work in industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, or energy, PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering may be a better option for you.
My brother had the option of VIT for CSE on merit still he chose PEC metallurgy. There are various reasons as to why he took that decision:
Categories |
ECE at VIT Vellore |
Metallurgy at PEC Chandigarh |
Course Fee |
7.83 lakh |
6.39 lakh |
Highest CTC |
21 LPA |
17.75 LPA |
Average CTC |

Recruiting Companies |
Deloitte, Bank of America, IBM, HCL, etc. |
ZS Associates, Amazon, JP Morgan, JSW Steels, etc. |
I personally believe VIT is overrated because a friend who did not even pass mains received 2000 AIR in VITEEE. In the CBSE 2016 boards, he scored 78 percent, which was below average.
