My new world

Remarks :

There are only positive remarks I could think of highly skilled profs, good infrastructure, variety in courses offered, it's location, tremendous amount of extra curricular activities available, all types of sports, clubs for different activities.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Well in my opinion the course curriculum in this college is fantastic. You can choose over the list of courses provided, which course you want to do in this semester and which course you want to postone for the rest of semesters. We have 2 quizzes and 1 end semester exams in each sem.

Placement Experience :

Placement and job opportunities are really good here. Companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon, TCS, Goldman etc. come every year to provide jobs. The average package of a student graduated from IIT Mandi is around 15 lacs per annum. Yes, my college provides intership opportunities in the field of research, data science, machine learning and many more.

College Events :

There are many events celebrated in our college. 1. ) Ranneeti - Sports fest of IIT Mandi. In this various colleges from North India come to take part. 2. ) Exodia - Cultural and technical fest which is the biggest fest of Himalayas. Aagaz and Aagman are also celebrated here to welcome the first yearites in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee for each sem is around 1, 35, 000 including the tution fee, mess fee, hostel fee, medical fee, transportation fee, etc. I don't think it's that expensive. Well the figure I told was for general boys whose family income is more than 5 lacs per annum below that we have to pay one-third of it and if it is below 1 lacs per annum we have to only pay hostel and mess fees. For OBCs, SCs and STs and all the girls the tution fee is 0.

Campus Life :

Well we have a gender ratio of 1:4. Talking about the sports we have a hockey ground, football ground, cricket ground, badminton court, TT court, basket ball court, tennis court and what not. We have many labs for electrical engineering students and mechanical engineering students which the students can use for any research or for any academic work.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel infrastructure is really good. As it is a new IIT all hostels are almost new. We have a study room in each floor of the hostel which has almost 10 rooms. Since here is very cold in winter we have heaters available in the study room. Projectors are also available in each study room. Along with that we have a common room which has a led and a TT table for the entertainment.

Alumni/Alumna :

Obviously the alumni network is really helpful for getting a job. They can recommend you in there company for employment. The alumnis try to come to the campus almost every sem to guide the students. Other than this our seniors also help us by giving us the brief idea what we actually have to do.

Admission :

I cracked jee mains and jee advanced to get admission in this college. I took Electrical branch from the four choices available to me that is CS, EE, ME and CE. Well you can also change your branch after first year by getting good college.

Faculty :

Some faculties of my college are graduated from foreign universities and some from old iits. They are highly skilled and have a good amount of research experience. They inspire the students in the field of research.

Course Curriculum Overview:

They have followed Nep which implement latest curriculum and subjects have latest knowledge. It have mix of theoretical and practical knowledge that help in real world scenarios. It may need to exclude things that no longer needee or used. Timing of exam leaves us with enough time to prepare but extending it would be good too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum InfluencesInnovative Course Structure: The curriculum is designed to integrate technical education with humanities and social sciences, ensuring a well-rounded education. Entrepreneurship Focus: The presence of the IIT Mandi Catalyst, a technology business incubator, encourages students to develop entrepreneurial skills alongside their technical education. Broader Elective Options: Some students feel that offering a wider range of elective courses would allow for more personalized and diverse learning experiences. Enhanced Practical Exposure: Increasing the number of industry visits, internships, and practical workshops could further bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications Faculty Training: While the faculty is highly qualified, regular professional development and training sessions could help them stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and technological advancements
