EACH AND EVERY DETAILS ABOUT IIT MANDI

Dislikes

  • A *developing* infrastructure, which cannot be compared to the present facilities at the old IITs. IIT Mandi is 15 kms away from the main Mandi city, so you get that Dominoz, and partying, and all that stuff at a stake of travelling 45minutes on bus
  • (IIT has its own buses running every hour between Mandi and the Campus). So if you are too much into city life and stuff then you may not like IIT Mandi. The inter-college fests they organize are less attractive than the big colleges however you get

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculam is not good. Focus is more on theory rather than on Practical knowledge. Students have to study on their own to be industrial ready. Students study through online and offline courses to be ready to work in industry. Course curriculum doesn't prepares us for the real-world applications, we have to learn it all by our own. There are two sessional exams in middle of every semester conducted by college itself and one final exam at the end of semester conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had completed a diploma in civil engineering that's why I was looking for a college to do my degree. The overall experience here was not on the good side due to many reasons. First, you'll find many teachers who'll come and teach here for 6 months and leave. So the quality of teaching cannot be assured since teachers are changing almost every semester. Exams and midterms were held timely even if they haven't taught you anything about a particular subject.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good the best placement is of the CSE branch. The Average package is about 5-6 lakh and the highest package is 20-25 lakh. It is all about your skills and the knowledge you have gained in your whole college life. Rest placement is good about 100-200 companies come every year.
