IIT Roorkee Library houses approximately 4 lakh print documents, including 2 lakh books, 60K textbooks, more than 50K journal bundles, and so on. The library covers an area of 80,000 square feet.

  • Thomso: IIT Roorkee's annual cultural festival is called Thomso. More than 100K students from 500+ colleges attend the more than 150 gala events at this festival. The months of October and November are when this festival is held. 
  • Cognizance: IIT Roorkee's technical festival is called IIT Rookree cognizance. The festival is scheduled to take place from March 24 to March 26 in 2023. For the past 20 years, Cognizance has been popular among tech enthusiasts.
  • CONFLUENCIA: IIT Roorkee's Department of Management Studies' signature event is CONFLUENCIA. It was established in 2008 as a platform for knowledge exchange between the leaders of various organizations and the nation's up-and-coming managers
  • SANGHARSH: IIT Roorkee Sangharsh is a three-day sporting extravaganza that unleashes the manager-in-training in participants. IIT Roorkee is the new battleground for sports enthusiasts from top B-Schools, where they can compete to see who reigns supreme. It has excellent sports facilities that will meet the need.

Both indoor and outdoor sports facilities are offered by IIT Roorkee. The students have access to games like badminton, tennis, swimming, basketball, kho kho, table tennis, and hockey, among others. The National Sports Organization NSO program was introduced in 2007–2008 with the goal of encouraging students to participate in sports more.

  • There are ten hostels for boys at IIT Roorkee. The campus's hostels and canteens, which serve late-night snacks, are all connected to Wi-Fi and have deep internet connectivity.
