How is WBJEE 2025 rank calculated?

The WBJEE rank is based on the candidate’s performance in the WBJEE 2025 exam. It includes the raw marks in both Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics and Chemistry).

There are two types of rank in the WBJEE 2025 exam:

Rank Type Description
GMR (General Merit Rank) Based on total marks in Paper 1 (Maths) + Paper 2 (Physics + Chemistry)
PMR (Pharmacy Merit Rank) Based on only Paper 2 (Physics + Chemistry) for Pharmacy (except JU)

WBJEE 2025 GMR Evaluation

To evaluate the General Merit Rank, the raw scores need to be calculated first. Raw marks are the sum total of Paper I and Paper II.

Mathematics scores (out of 100) + Physics + Chemistry scores (out of 100).

Once the scores are calculated, the candidates are sorted in a descending order based on their total scores. If two or more candidates score the same, tie breaking criteria is applied. The final sorted list becomes the WBJEE General Merit List.
