WBJEE Mop-Up Round Seat Allotment is now released on the official website. No other mode is used to declare the seat allotment of WBJEE 2024. You have to use your mode of registration, password and and roll number to check seat allotment. The exam officials will also release the opening and closing rank of colleges. The seat allotment process is done based on total number of candidates qualified and several engineering colleges under WBJEEB.
Candidates who will be allotted seats during allotment, will be required to pay admission fees for confirmation of seats.The conducting authority releases the merit lists in the form of GMR and PMR. However, the participating institutes will also release their merit lists for seat allotment. The candidates need to know that if they fail to get a seat in the first round, they may be allotted seats in the second round. Similarly, if candidates are not satisfied with the allotted seat in Round 1, they can choose for up-gradation of seat in Round 2. This year nearly 35000 seats are avilabe for the candiates across 83 institutes. Among them 10 are state universities, 9 are government engeering colleges, 56 are private colleges and 7 are private univeristites.

Candidates meeting the seat allotment eligibility Criteria can participate in this process. The board has specified certain requirements which a candidate needs to possess to be eligible for counselling and seat allotment rounds.
- Candidates qualifying WBJEE with GMR are eligible to participate in the seat allotment round.
- Those with AIR are entitled to participate in the seat allotment round against 10% sanctioned seats.

Seat Allotment Process-Round 1
Candidates who find a place in the first merit list will proceed to choice-filling. Let’s check the other details:
- Students securing a seat in the first round must report to one of the WBJEE Reporting Centres to complete the admission formalities.
- Failing to report to the venue will lead to the cancellation of provisional seat allotment and will not be considered for subsequent rounds.
- It is mandatory to carry the relevant documents and allotment letters at the reporting centre for verification.
- After the successful seat allotment, one can opt for the up-gradation or no up-gradation of seats.
Selecting up-gradation means the seat allotted in the first round will be preserved. However, the candidates will be eligible for the seat allotment procedure in the subsequent round of seat allotment.
Candidates selecting no up-gradation option must report to the allotted institutes. The institutes will accept only those candidates who will report to the reporting centre and will opt for no up-gradation.
Seat Allotment Process- Round 2
No fresh registrations will be done for the second round of seat allotment. The choices filled by candidates in the first round will be considered for this round.
- The registered candidates who will not get seats in the 1st round will be eligible for the second round.
- The Board also offers admissions to JEE Main candidates based on marks scored by them in the exam.
- However, such candidates are required to attend the counselling procedure and participate in the online seat allotment process.
- They will also be required to produce their JEE Main Score Card at Reporting Centres.
Seat Allotment Process- Round 3
On the basis of Round 2, candidates will be allotted seats in Round 3. Candidates who will be allotted seats for the first time will be required to report at any reporting centre for the provisional seat allotment.
- Seats are offered to the candidates on the basis of availability and the preferences opted for from the available combinations.
- The candidates who will be granted admission must report to the allotted institute to complete the admission formalities.
- If there are seats vacant under SCPH, STPH, BCAPH and BCBPH category, after the 2nd round of seat allotment, then they will be directly converted into OPPH category.
- However, even after that, if seats are left vacant, then the categories will be converted and allocated to the candidates:

What Should You Do After Seat Allotment?
- After successful completion of seat allotment process, candidates can download a provisional seat allotment letter. The letter consists of details including seat allotted to the candidate, paid fee, and details of upgradation after the conclusion of the document verification process.
- Provisional seat allotment letters should be downloaded and kept, and the candidate needs to report to the reporting centre as per the scheduled date and time.
- Necessary seat acceptance fee will have to be paid by the candidate to download seat allotment order. The fee can be paid via online mode or offline mode (e-challan).
- Once document verification is over, only then can candidates express their wish to appear in the further rounds of counselling and seat allotment process. For this, they will be asked to sign a declaration stating that their earlier allotted seat shall be cancelled.
- “Freeze” option should be used by the candidates in order to lock their seats and retain them for further counselling rounds.
- Post completion of the entire process, candidates will have to report at the allotted institute and pay the requisite tuition fees to confirm their admission.

Ques. How do I upgrade my WBJEE Seat Allotment 2024?
Ans.: Candidates can opt for degradation of Seat Allotment 2024, in this case, candidates who have been allotted Seats in the first round will be preserved and such candidates will also be eligible to participate in the further rounds if Seat Allotment. Candidates can select the degradation option which will be made available once WBJEE Seat Allotment 2024 starts.
Ques. How many seats will be offered to the candidates having their names in the JEE Merit list?
Ans.: Candidates having a rank in JEE merit list will have 10% approved seats in all Self-Financed Engineering & Technology Colleges of West Bengal.
Ques: If I secure a WBJEE 2024 rank, Am I eligible for e-counselling?
Ans: Everyone who secures a WBJEE 2024 rank may not be eligible for e-counselling. To qualify for e-counselling, you will have to score above the cut-off marks determined by the Board apart from securing a rank in WBJEE. The cut-off score will be announced at the time of WBJEE 2024 Result declaration.
