IIT JAM 2025 Eligibility Criteria outlines the essential requirements that candidates must meet to qualify for admission to the IITs. Here are the key eligibility criteria:

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree: Candidates must hold a valid Bachelor's degree from a recognized university or institution.
• Qualifying Degree Examination: Candidates should have successfully passed the qualifying degree examination. In cases where candidates have been promoted without receiving a mark sheet, they must provide a promotion certificate or a document endorsed by the Head of the Institute, specifying the subjects studied in that semester or year. This information is crucial to determine the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) criteria for admission to a specific program.
• Eligibility for Foreign Citizens with Indian Degrees: Foreign citizens holding Indian degrees can apply for admission based on the rules specified by the admitting institute.
• Conversion of CGPA/CPI: If the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) is not on a 10-point scale, it will be linearly mapped to a 10-point scale for evaluation purposes
• Proof of Completion of Qualifying Degree: Candidates must provide evidence of completing their qualifying degree and meeting the MEQs required by the Admitting Institute before September 30, 2023.
• Equivalence of Letter Grades/CGPA: The Admitting Institute will determine the percentage equivalence for candidates who have received letter grades or CGPA instead of the traditional percentage of marks.
• Physical Fitness Certificate: All admitted applicants must submit a Physical Fitness certificate in the prescribed form, obtained from a qualified medical practitioner, at the time of admission. Additionally, admitted applicants may be required to undergo a Physical Fitness test conducted by a medical board appointed by the Admitting Institute. If candidates are found physically unfit to pursue their chosen course of study, their admission may be revoked.

Medical Criteria for IIT JAM

• Candidates with color blindness and/or Uni-ocularity are not eligible to apply for IIT JAM.
• For candidates belonging to the Persons with Disability (PwD) category, it is necessary that they can independently walk in the field without any assistance or escort, considering both on-road and off-road conditions.
