Eligibility Criteria for IIT JAM 2025
Different colleges have different eligibility criteria based on chosen courses but there are some basic criteria to apply for the exam. Only those who meet the below-mentioned criteria are eligible for IIT JAM 2025 registration.
- Candidates must have a degree in any one of the following subjects – Geology, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics. Final-year candidates are also eligible to apply.
- The minimum aggregate mark required for graduation is 55% for general category candidates.
- 5% relaxation is given to reserved category candidates in the marks required in the qualifying exam.
- For candidates acquiring letter grades/CGPA, the equivalent marks will be decided by the admitting institute.
- There will be no age criteria/restrictions to apply.
- Candidates who are in the final year of graduation are eligible to apply for this exam.
IIT JAM 2025 Registration Process
The registration process for IIT JAM will be conducted on September 3, 2024. You can apply for JAM 2025 only through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) available through the "Candidate Portal" button on the website https://jam2025.iitd.ac.in.
You have to first register on the JOAPS website, by clicking the ‘Application Login (JOAPS )’ link. You need to provide your name, a valid e-mail address, an active mobile number and a password then click on the “Submit” button. After successful registration, you will receive an Enrollment ID sent to the registered email ID and Contact Number. You are required to use your Enrollment ID and Password to log in to the website.
After login, candidates are needed to click on “Edit Application Form” & fill the following details.
Enter JAM 2025 exam details like no. of paper, paper subject and exam city preferences.
Parent/guardian’s name & mobile number, city preferences, number and choice of test paper(s), date of birth, gender, address for communication, category & PwD status and other required details.
In this step, candidates will have to verify their email id and mobile number by entering the OTPs given to them through their mail and contact sms.
Enter the proper address with details of valid personal ID information (give ID proof number).
Next, you need to enter your qualifying degree, percentage of marks/CGPA, year of passing, college name and address, etc.
Next, you have uploaded all the required documents as per the mentioned specifications. Choose the scanned images of photograph, signature and SC/ST/PwD certificate (if applicable) one by one and upload them.
After uploading the images, you can proceed to make the fee payment. The application fee can be paid online only.
The fee payment can be done through debit/credit card or net banking account. Candidates are required to enter the payment details and pay the application fee.
After completing all steps of the application form, students can take the printout of the filled application form.Students are suggested to keep the printed application form safe for further use. There is no need to send the printed application form to the authority.
IIT JAM 2025 Registration Documents Required
You must fill all the required information in the IIT JAM application form. The information must be authentic as they will be used in the future admission proceedings. Some required documents are listed below.
- Class 10 Mark sheet and certificate.
- Class 12 Mark sheet and passing certificate. If only CGPA is mentioned in class 10 and class 12 mark sheets, enter the CGPA in aggregate marks field after converting in the percentile form.

IIT JAM 2025 Registration Form Correction
If you make any mistake in the IIT JAM application form then you can correct it when the authority will open the correction window. To correct the form, you need to visit the IIT JAM official website i.e. https://jam2025.iitd.ac.in/. Click on JOAPS portal or application form correction link and then click on the login button & enter user id and password. Ques: Is the application fee refundable if I cancel my registration?
Ans: The application fee is neither refundable nor transferable. Once submitted, there is no way that you can cancel your application. In case, the fee amount has been deducted from your bank account, but the JAM 2025 application portal does not receive the information due to communication failure or any such event, then the money will be automatically credited back to your account from which the money was deducted. However, this may take a week or more, after the closure of the application process.
