IIT JAM 2025 Shift-2(Over): Question Paper with Solutions, Answer Key & Previous Year Papers

The IIT JAM 2025 exam was held today, February 2, 2025, across 115 examination centers in India. Shift 2, which included Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH) subjects, concluded at 5:30 PM. Shift 1, which included Chemistry, Geology, and Mathematics, ended at 12:30 PM.

According to the initial reviews, the difficulty level of the exam was moderate to high, with a distribution of 30-35% of difficult questions, 40-45% of moderately difficult ones, and 20-25% easy questions.

IIT JAM 2025 Expected Subject-Wise Difficulty Analysis

The difficulty level of IIT JAM 2025 will only be analyzed after the exams. However, by patterns followed in the past years, Mathematics and Physics are expected to be harder this time, while Biotechnology and Economics may remain at a balanced difficulty level.

Previous Year Difficulty Level Analysis (2024-2022)

To prepare aspirants effectively for IIT JAM 2025, the following is a subject-wise comparison of difficulty levels based on the last three years, (2024-2022).

  • Mathematics & Physics experienced a 10-15% increase in challenging questions, thus making 2024 the toughest year so far.
  • Chemistry was moderately tough, with a 5-7% increase in moderate questions in 2023 and 2024.
  • Biotechnology became more balanced, with 8-10% more moderate questions over the years.
  • Geology & Mathematical Statistics remained on par, while Geology had 5% more challenging questions in 2024.
  • The most stable of them was economics, with 5-7% fewer difficult questions in 2024 than in 2023.
