IIT Dharwad offers BS-MS in interdisciplinary sciences for a duration of 5 years. It is a dual degree program with an exit option after 4 years with a BS degree majoring in one of the four science disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics. The program provides knowledge in basic sciences and engineering and aligns with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.Apart from getting a Major degree, students can obtain an additional Minor degree offered by the Institute. IIT Dharwad offers a College Library and Technology Center, a Central Instrumentation Laboratory and a Central Instrumentation Facility, a wellness center, an auditorium, a seminar room, a library, a computer center, and a cafeteria. All classrooms and laboratories have wi-fi facilities, and the same is provided throughout the campus.In addition, the institute provides two hostel blocks with a total of 550 rooms. Life at IIT Dharwad - What to expect

Likes

The campus is really peaceful and away from the big city noise and chaos so it is good for studies and focus.
The professors here are very helpful if you reach out. They answer all queries and needs peacefully and respectfully. And if you are into research you can also reach out to them and do your research work under their guidance and mentorship.
The student community here is very active and well connected because it is a new campus and batch size is small, you'll probably remember all your batchmates both by their names and faces.

Dislikes

The only thing I feel could be better is the core branch placements, they still lag behind CSE, so you need to put some extra effort during placements if you are from core branches

At IIT Dharwad, internships usually start from 3rd year(6th semester) but some students get 2nd-year, internships too if they're proactive. Companies like Adobe, Amazon, Texas and a few startups also hire interns from the campus. Common roles are Software Developer Intern, Data Analyst Intern, Research Intern etc. All the Internships on Campus are paid.

as our college is newly constructed i liked the hostel rooms which are brand new
i liked the infrastructure of the college
and the facilites provided by the college like gym,indoor sports facility and wellness centre

Dislikes

the course structure because we will have 1/3rd of the year as holidays that is 4 months
the placements,as this is the new IIT placements are quite less
i didn't like the college loction because as we know dharwad is a small town they are very less chill out areas

Presence of Highly Qualified Professors in every branch
all the hostel and mess facilities that are being provided
Central library is the best place to study silently and with focus

Dislikes

Big workload, many lectures, labs and assignment
no outdoor sports facilities only squash and badminton court are available which are indoor.
somewhat curriculum which seems outdated

There are many options that students can avail for getting an intership that may be paid or unpaid. It can from professors, self founded or offered from career development cell. Major interships are placed during the winter and summer breaks.

A little about IIT Dharwad

Likes

We actually need more students as it is a new iit i know it is not possible but we need to expand .
Engagement is nice we pretty have some nice quizes events competition.
Well as it is a IIT some teachers are from IIT mainly as of my knowledge.

Dislikes

As I said no of students are less. And some events more please .
We should have some industrial visits like things.
Mess should of multioptions like of every culture we should have some options

Internships Opportunities:

Companies data are not known to me but some nice companies also come We have a maximum oackage of 52 lpa It is good for a new iit . Rest on us as we are future of our college Projects are given by some swniors sometimes.

faculty and staff are open minded thy don't middle in students personal business , they just teach and leave
the atmosphere, climate is pretty good , it's all green campus
they maintain good hygiene, when it comes to toilets and all they are pretty clean

Dislikes

damnn very bad placement offers internship offers too very low you will feel blessed if you got placed actually
food is good you can survive with this food but you will find insects around mess hall
events are boring here. it is not as u expect

Placement Experience:

you are elible from 4-1 for most of the companies that actually depends on companies but on campus inters you will get from 3rd year beginning it self .highest package is 55lpa and avg you can say 13lpa . 40% of students got placed last year i really hate this college just bad placements broo my plan is to get a job i have no plans for higher studies

Likes

College campus is located is beautiful and green. Weather is really nice in Dharwad.
Some professors are very good. They are very helpful.
College provide lot of opportunities in different fields.

Dislikes

Placements were not good enough in my time.
So many rules about everything feels like its not an IIT sometimes.

Internships Opportunities:

Many companies come for internship in college. Some of them were Hugosave, Iambesideyou, Dvara Solutions, Doctorspectra, EagleEyeNetworks etc, and stipend was between 5000 to 50000. They all were for software engineering. For EE and ME also some came.

Likes

Being a 3rd gen IIT since there are a few drawbacks there are also several opportunities in every way like you can personally consult any faculty for any help as per your interest.
You can hold various positions of responsibility and explore various virtues of your life.
I like that the campus is away from the city uts quite green and healthy environment.

Dislikes

Since its under construction we can't totally enjoy the IIT infrastructure.
Dharwad is not the location I prefer for the IIT it could have been a lot better although there are a lot of tourists spots around so it neutralizes the effect.
Placements are not very good being an IIT it should perform a lot better hope it does in the near future.

Internships Opportunities:

There are several companies such as intel resolute and several other that provide internship opportunities there are also several rnd projects in campus in several domains you can take up. The students are compensated fairly.

I like the hostel facilities provided it is really nice of being in this hostel.
As it is new campus the building are good.
Curriculum is good and if I study properly the cpi will be nice

Dislikes

This is a campus under construction so everything not completely set.
The infrastructure is not so good and facilities are having ups and downs.
No proper sports facilities available in the campus.

Placement Experience:

My campus placements are not so good mainly for my branch the avg is so low that I couldn't imagine my job offer without proper cpi.Only 60% of students are being placed remaining all should apply by there own to owe a job.

For playing we have to go walmi campus,in permanent campus only indore facility available.

We can do this after 1st year in summer campus will provide this opportunity, first they will ask for an interview if you are eligible then you may have a chance to get per month more than 10000. Based on your IQ level you will get money.

great experience here , we have well developed infrastructure and all the equipment here is new and advanced.
professor are very friendly ,also we don't have any communication gap , they help us clearing our all doubt
here Placement cell constantly organizes contest for boosting ours skills

Dislikes

Not hundred percentage on campus placement. It is around 80%.
Grading is little bit con fusing. and physical library is not present in the permanent campus
we don't have proper connection with the city . i.e Transportation is little difficult.

Internships Opportunities:

we have proper department( career development cell) which look after internship oppurtunity from all the company and provide their detail to the student and also students itself search for various oppurtunity at other foreign companies.
