Mechanical Engineering studies are good at IIT Dharwad. The academics of IIT Dharwad has always been great, experienced faculty members from IIT Bombay taught courses to its students since the beginning of this college As for Mechanical specifically- The Mechanical faculty consists of professors from IIT Bombay, and other highly skilled academicians. The curriculum is the same as that of IIT Bombay Mechanical. The department has separate labs for different courses. The lab equipment is either new or from the IIT Bombay labs. Prof. Prabhu of the Mechanical Department is a highly respected faculty member at IIT Bombay. He is very hardworking and learned. He has over 2000 citations. IIT Dharwad BTech 2024: Fees, Admission, Cutoff, Placement

IIT Dharwad BTech admission 2024 is expected to commence in July 2024. Admission to this course will be based on the JEE Advanced examinations and further, the cutoffs will be released by the JoSAA counselling. IIT Dharwad BTech Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants who wish to join the B.Tech program are required to complete their 10+2 board examination with PCM from a recognized institute. Candidates must at least score a minimum of 75% marks in their examination. For SC/ST students, there is a 5% relaxation in the minimum required percentile of qualifying marks in the 12th class examination. Further, students will have to appear for the JEE Advanced exam and qualify with a valid rank. Selection to the course will be based on the marks secured in JEE Advanced. The seats will be allotted by the JoSAA based on the rank/ scores obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination.

Being a 3rd gen IIT since there are a few drawbacks there are also several opportunities in every way like you can personally consult any faculty for any help as per your interest.
You can hold various positions of responsibility and explore various virtues of your life.

Dislikes

Since its under construction we can't totally enjoy the IIT infrastructure.
Dharwad is not the location I prefer for the IIT it could have been a lot better although there are a lot of tourists spots around so it neutralizes the effect.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted electrical engineering as I was kindly interested in physics and communication over all the course curriculum is very good as it also includes electronics and communication courses along with the electrical. It overall prepares us for real life problem handling. Though I personally do not prefer core electrical courses I enjoy electronics and communication part quite a lot. There are also several electives and research opportunities you can take up to complete your degree.

IIT Dharwad: Potential to be best among iits.

Being a new college it is clean, infrastructure is brand new.
There is good natural environment. That is forest area of around 60 acres

Management is not good yet being a new college.
There are no sports grounds in permanent campus yet.

Its mentored by IIT Bombay and has a very similar curriculum which was the reason to chose iit Dharwad. In the first year every branch has the same curriculum. Curriculum (especially lab courses) really make us industry-ready. Everyone can choose elective courses from other branches if they wish to learn from different branches. Still, there are very few branches to date so that students can get diversified courses. Exams are moderately difficult and conducted 2 times in the semester

I like the hostel facilities provided it is really nice of being in this hostel.
As it is new campus the building are good.

This is a campus under construction so everything not completely set.
The infrastructure is not so good and facilities are having ups and downs.

The curriculum is good , as I am in second semister all courses are common courses so I don't properly about consult branch courses I hope those will also be better for my future.The need to remove some courses as common be for example why a CS student will study mechanical engineering drawing course because of that remaining students will suffer for their inconvenience.

I liked here to breakfast, tiffin is good.
Here badminton courts are good we can go to their any time.

For playing we have to go walmi campus,in permanent campus only indore facility available.

The faculties are good. All instructors are very highly knowledgeable persons in IITs. Based on instructor exams difficulty will be there. some professors are very good and they are friendly with us. In our college, exams will be conducted very strictly.

great experience here , we have well developed infrastructure and all the equipment here is new and advanced.
professor are very friendly ,also we don't have any communication gap , they help us clearing our all doubt

Not hundred percentage on campus placement. It is around 80%.
Grading is little bit con fusing. and physical library is not present in the permanent campus

Faculty review pros:_ 1. faculties are quiet young , so the interaction with them is easy, they are also freindly with us. 2. All the faculties have great background and most of them are from top university of the world like max planck, IIT bombay . 3. as they are young so they are used to our day to day life and teach in the modern ways. cons :- due to young age some professor have less experience or their starting from our college their teaching career.

My best 4 years

I like my hostel, campus and the nescafe coffe centre near my branch class
I like my friends who is from punjab and haryana

I disliked the attendance system in our college that is 75 percent
I dislike the timing of coming and going in hostel

The course curriculum is like all other iits but yeah quite difficult than another college of engineering and might that only makes a differ between iits and other colleges, while the syllabus is not so tough so it possible to achieve good grades

Hostel rooms are a bit good . We can experience a good college life.

I dislike the unavailablity of facilities in this campus.
I dislike the food here served in the mess.

Based on my ranking I got this course. There will be separate faculty for each course. All the teachers are from the best institutions. Exams are most frequently conducted based on teachers. It's very difficult to get good grades.

I liked the atmosphere of college . It is constructed in a forest.
We are the first batch to come to new campus.

I didn't like studies and curriculum of this college.
Food is not nice at all.No proper sources are there in this college

I want to become an engineer. The faculty-student ratio is 1:4. The teaching method is average and the qualifications of the faculties are fine. One semester takes four or four and a half months to complete. And it is difficult to pass the exams for some subjects and for some subjects it was fine.

Freedom, not overwhelming and simplicity
Faculty: Down to earth and not arrogant easy to approach.

New campus so a few challenges in lack of facilities
Wifi problems and lack of mobile signals

I am interested in Computer science. The student-faculty ratio is around 1:20. Faculty are highly qualified and trained in prestigious colleges like MIT and 1st gen IITs. Term exams were prescheduled and went accordingly. Not too tough but you need to put in your efforts.
