Infrastructure of college is pretty good .it is located in large area with two big outdoor ground and indoor ground .Auditorium has capacity for 2000 people so big good setup.
The college play a big role in professional development from sports to academia

Dislikes

Location: For students coming from metropolitan areas, Durgapur might feel somewhat remote or lack certain urban amenities and activities.
Restrictions: For 1st year there is lot of restrictions such as they can't go out from hostel after 7pm .

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel room consist of three roomies which are supplied by 3 lamp.3 bed,3 chair,3 almirah,3 table,2 fans ,3 switch board. Mesh meal is of poor quality and they don't follow any fucking menu. For registration process in hostel first you have to submit hostel fee and mess fee and some of antiragging affidavit ,undertaking of student and parent etc. Hostel is mandatory for every students.

The infrastructure of nit durgapur is very good.
The faculties of every department are very experienced.

The schedule of the classes are in the afternoon time, which is very bad according to me
The weather of nit durgapur is very humid.

Hostel Facilities:

In the hostel room of 3 people, we get 3 separate beds, 3table ,3 chairs,3 separate almirah and 3 lamps. The size of the room is big. The meal quality is good when mess committee will form. In first year we got nice food, then in second year we get low quality of food and then from 3rd year we get best quality of food till 4th year. Registration process is very simple, first we have to go to office which is on the ground floor. Then you get your room, after approval of your documents.

The campus placements are pretty good with average placement of 11.58 lacs/annum
The campus is very beautiful and very lushy green.

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio is very less about 1:6
The laboratory equipments are pretty old and outdated

If you have taken admission in the college, you need to stay in the hostel. The hostel infrastructure is good. Each room contains three students. The bathrooms are shared. Each students is given a chair, a table and an almirah of his own. There is 24/7 supply of electricity and water. The mess food is not upto the mark. The mess food is unhygenic and tasteless

The thing I liked the most about NIT Durgapur is it's management, the management is very strict with first year student but it's for our own good . College is strictly against ragging and it's really efficient too.
The girls to boys ratio is quite good , like in our computer science batch theres a total of 187 students in which 36 girls and rests are boys which is nearly 1:4 good for a NIT. Also girls here are very friendly 😉.

Dislikes

The most disliked thing by me here is the politics, yes there is politics divided into zones from different States students of India. Here's a student body called Gymkhana which conducts this election which every year cause a real chaos afaik.
Here exist a culture called zone in or zone out , if u choose to zone in you'll get ragged but along with that you'll get help from alumnis and seniors and even in club entries but if u choose to zone out noone will ever touch u

Hostel Facilities:

1) Facilities in hostel rooms : well there is everything u need , in first year there is 3 sharing rooms , 3 lockers , 2 fans , the space is big enough, water coolers , common rooms , wifi with a speed of 15 Mbps but in library the speed of wifi is a lot higher so don't worry , bathroom with 1:3 Ratio of western to Indian toilets . 2) well while I can't share the menu here coz it's always changing maybe u will get different but only things I can say is on Wednesday there is special dinner , on Tuesdays there's only veg menu . In evening u will get snacks in mess but have to pay for it , there's several food courts outside the hostel where u can buy a lot other fast foods with money.

NIT Durgapur campus area is big. It's located on a campus of 187 acres.
NIT Durgapur's NIRF ranking of 2024 is 44th in the Engineering categories.

Dislikes

1st year's restrictions 1) Not allow in any feast in late night 2) don't allow out of campus without family.
The academic pressure of NIT Durgapur is too much

Hostel Facilities:

There will be 3 students in each room, 2 fans, 2 lights, 3 beds, 3 tables, 3 chairs for 3 people. The hostel provides food thrice a day, in the morning, afternoon and night. The quality of the food is not very good but it is not bad. After online admission, there is physical reporting. What documents are required for hostel allotment? You will get the list of those through email from the college. You cannot stay in NIT Durgapur by taking a room/PG.

The facilities provided in the hostel room is their is bed, table, chair, almirah . Meal quality is medium but not so good 750 per day is the locality if you rented a room and this is too much not affordable

The curriculum for all branches is good. The quality of infrastructure also top class in academic building. Along with this college has better laboratory in every departments.
Campus is very clean and green. The good thing about the night of NIT-Dgp is, it is supposed to be late evening rather than a night because the hustle and bustle is found in the late evening time.

Dislikes

In academics, You can feel the pressure of a student which the departmental profs. It can be identified by the student face. in some semester of B.Tech, there is more number of labs subject which is time waste sometimes.
In final year also, The professors are very strict to their subjects, The students placement is not in their priority list. It your responsibility to manage the academics as well as your skill which will you take to the Placements.

Hostel Facilities:

Three students are allowed in a room and the hostels are also good in these years. But in final and prefinal year three students are allowed in a room and that room is not for three students. along with room some hostel like Hall-2, Hall-1, Hall-3 are required to rebuild again or renovate. but i think ther renovation can't impact much because the hostel are of time of 1980. which is not good to live in. During tehe physical reporting, The hostel also got alotted. registration form is to be fillefd by the students physically and they are allowed to choose room whichever they want.

Hostel Facilities:

1st year hostel (Hall 14) is well furnished and in good condition as it was built recently, but the mess is handled by a private vendor, due to which food quality may not be as expected for some. Whereas later during pre-final and final years, we get Hall-2 and Hall-1, which were built in 1960s and not much upgrades on them were done since then except the electricals. But the mess in those older halls are way better than those handled by private vendors.

College seniors are very helpful they helped a lot for covering the syllabus before night

In first year no student are allowed to explore campus due to high restrictions even they are not allowed to go out of hostel gate go out of hostel
Lecture delivered by professor are so boring that students tried to give just proxy

During my B.Tech from NIT Durgapur, I stayed at Halls-9,3 and 5. I can tell you about the condition of these halls.

The infrastructure of these hostel buildings is in a poor and dilapidated state. They are located in one corner of the campus. The rooms are old, and these halls aren’t well maintained. The mess food isn’t good.

Despite all of this, you’ll find solace in your hostel rooms. You’ll form close bonds with your hostelmates. Once you move out of NIT Durgapur, you’ll miss these times. Over here, you’ll enjoy plenty of freedom with practically no responsibilities.

For the most part, the condition of hostels isn’t good. Still, you’ll eventually adapt to this place. You’ll form close friendships and lifelong memories over here.

What are the hostel facilities in NIT Durgapur?

Here are the facilities available at NIT Durgapur Boys’ hostels-

In Hall 11 (for freshers), Wifi facility is provided. For the students in other halls, LAN facility is provided.
Its mess committee members decide the menu for a respective hall.
Mess food is average. But once a week, you’ll be served good meals. Every month, there’s a special dinner where you’ll be served dishes like mutton, pulao, ice cream, cold drink, rasgulla, etc.
First year boys can go out between 6am-6pm as a preventative measure against ragging. However, this in-time is extended to 10 pm later on.
There’s a weekly laundry service for which the bill gets added to your mess bill accordingly.
Barbers are available on Saturdays and Sundays.
The campus has strict security.
Hall 11 has a canteen on the third floor which offers good food and 100+ dishes. As you become seniors, you will get the freedom to visit malls and “jhoops”.
Common rooms contain TT tables and carrom boards. The hostels also have Badminton, Basketball, Cricket and football equipment.
Common rooms contain TV.
There are small shops near the halls to provide items of daily use. Water coolers are provided on every floor.
Sweepers clean the rooms on a regular basis. The cleaning staff cleans the washrooms on a daily basis. Once a week, the halls are sprayed with pest control sprays and powders.

You will enjoy your stay at NIT Durgapur and make endless memories while at its hostels.

I am an alumni of NIT Durgapur. As I have never been to JU hostels, I can tell you about the condition of hostels in my college.

The fresher rooms are much better than those allotted to senior boys. Hall 9 consists of four-seater rooms which were allotted to me, back when I was a fresher. These rooms are small. However, they are still bigger than the four-seater rooms we were allotted during the second and third years.

Presently, freshers are allotted Hall-11 which is newly built and has all the facilities. It is well-built. During the fourth year, you will be allotted single-seater rooms. These single-seater rooms are below expectations. They are quite old.

Here are some facilities provided in hostels-

LAN/Wifi Connectivity
Clean drinking water via water coolers
Common washrooms for each wing
Mess for each hall
Sports facilities

The hostel facilities at NIT Durgapur aren’t really good, especially for a college of national importance.

Yes, NIT Durgapur has amazing hostel facilities. The accommodation facilities are amazing for girls who are allotted the HALL-13. Students are given huge double occupancy rooms. Other hostel facilities include common rooms with indoor game facilities and a big LED television. Students also get 24×7 high-speed internet connection in hostels. Most importantly you will be making some amazing friends for life!
