Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is moderate in Nit Durgapur college. During 1st year, in both semester Everyone have to study all the subjects that are common for all the branches, like physics, chemistry, maths, environmental studies, mechanics, DSA, computer programing, etc. There is also one subject that is extracurricular activities in which we have to choose yoga or taekwondo that have class one day every week, in the morning. Most of the proffs. use ppt to demonstrate the topics, that is very good point. So that all the students take interest in studying. There are 3-4 classes of 1 hours every day from Monday to Friday and holidays in Saturday and Sunday.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes there is internships opportunity in our college. since I am a 2nd year student. The internships are meant for final and pre final year students. Almost 80% of the students participating in the internship drive have obtained the internships. The companies that came for internships include Microsoft, Apple, Reliance etc. In the end there is so much compitition for internship.
Placement Experience :
The best part of this college is the placements. The highest package last year was 51 lac/year and the minimum was 4.5 lac/year with the average of 11 lac/year. The main companies that came for placements are Microsoft, apple, reliance, iocl, etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In nit durgapur 1st semester fees will be 113100 including caution money and excluding mess fees and in 2nd semester fees will be 82800 including caution money and excluding mess fees. So, total 1 year fees will be approx. 2lakhs. In this tuition fees - 62500 per semester Caution fees - 5000 per semester (refundable) Admission fees- 3500 only in first semester Development fees - 10000 only in first semester Lab fees - 2000 per semester Library fees - 1200 per semester Electricity and water fees - 1700 per semester Maintenance fees -1700 per semester Health care fees - 1000 per semester There will be 100% scholarship in tuition fees for SC ST and PWD students For GENERAL EWS there will be scholarship according to annual income. Mess fees - 24600 per semester including 5000 caution money (refundable). Mess and hostel fees is for all students.
Campus Life :
Recstacy and aarohan are the two fests of this college. Aarohan is the tech fest whereas the recstacy is the cultural fest. Library has an adequate number of books for all department. There are over 20 clubs in this college. In clubs there are limited seats so, all the clubs take auditions to admit the students in clubs, and give them tasks to complete.
Hostel Facilities :
In the hostel room of 3 people, we get 3 separate beds, 3table ,3 chairs,3 separate almirah and 3 lamps. The size of the room is big. The meal quality is good when mess committee will form. In first year we got nice food, then in second year we get low quality of food and then from 3rd year we get best quality of food till 4th year. Registration process is very simple, first we have to go to office which is on the ground floor. Then you get your room, after approval of your documents.
Admission :
With the jee main score, I apply for josaa councelling. I which I got chemical engineering nit durgapur, it is very good college. I choose this college because of its infrastructure, west bengal culture, placement of chemical engineering which is very good. I also applied for nit jaipur and allahabad but for God sake I got nit durgapur which is also a top college. On the very first day, during admission process, we have to complete our documents with us, then I go to the office to check my documents by the invigilator. Then I went to the hall, which is allotted to me that is hall 11. Then go there, book my room which is on first floor. If I go late then I got room for top floors. In one room there are 3 peoples of your choices.
Faculty :
All the faculties of chemical engineering department are very good and frank with students, so that all the students can clear their doubts. There are 3-4 faculties of one subjects. So, students can clear their doubts. according to me GNH sir of thermodynamics are very good, he complete there syllabus 10-15 days before the exams, so that all the students can prepare for their exam. And AKS sir of process calculation are very good in teaching because they interact with each and every student. The marking scheme is very easy, if you prepare the class notes and revise them, then you can score good marks. There is no one, that I don't like, because every professor is good.
