Faculty:
Courses NIT Durgapur offers a variety of courses, including BTech, MTech, MSc, MCA, MBA, and Ph.D. programs. The flagship course is BTech. Entrance exams The entrance exams accepted by NIT Durgapur include JEE Main, GATE, CAT, and CCMT. The entrance exam score is the basis for admission to most courses. For example, the JEE Main rank is required for BTech, GATE for M.Tech, and IIT JAM for MSc. Curriculum The first and second semesters are common for all engineering branches and the 5-year Integrated Chemistry program. Some courses are grouped for interchange between the first and second semesters. Disciplines NIT Durgapur offers a wide range of disciplines for graduation and post-graduation in engineering. It also offers M.Sc on core science subjects like Physics, Math, and Chemistry.

- Infrastructure of college is pretty good .it is located in large area with two big outdoor ground and indoor ground .Auditorium has capacity for 2000 people so big good setup.
- The college play a big role in professional development from sports to academia
Dislikes
- Location: For students coming from metropolitan areas, Durgapur might feel somewhat remote or lack certain urban amenities and activities.
- Restrictions: For 1st year there is lot of restrictions such as they can't go out from hostel after 7pm .
Faculty:
?faculty to student ratio is 1:4. ? like I am from electrical department i like my faculties They are little bit strict but they teach better Not only core but how to survive in that fields of electrical engineering .dr somya chattarjee sir ,dr suman halder sir. ?I didn't like faculty of chemical engineering department they are very lazy and slacker. ?they are two exam in each sem mid sem and end sem mid sem carry 25 marks and end sem carry 60 marks and internal assessments marks which is in the hand of professor is 15. The exam is of moderate type easily any of average students can get about 50-60 marks in each subjects but some of students who are not serious about exam they got supply . Around 5 to 6 students in each department got a supply. I think Course curriculum is upto the marks they tach us the useful things which have application in real life.

- The infrastructure of nit durgapur is very good.
- The faculties of every department are very experienced.
Dislikes
- The schedule of the classes are in the afternoon time, which is very bad according to me
- The weather of nit durgapur is very humid.
Faculty:
All the faculties of chemical engineering department are very good and frank with students, so that all the students can clear their doubts. There are 3-4 faculties of one subjects. So, students can clear their doubts. according to me GNH sir of thermodynamics are very good, he complete there syllabus 10-15 days before the exams, so that all the students can prepare for their exam. And AKS sir of process calculation are very good in teaching because they interact with each and every student. The marking scheme is very easy, if you prepare the class notes and revise them, then you can score good marks. There is no one, that I don't like, because every professor is good.

- The campus placements are pretty good with average placement of 11.58 lacs/annum
- The campus is very beautiful and very lushy green.
Dislikes
- The girls to boys ratio is very less about 1:6
- The laboratory equipments are pretty old and outdated
Faculty:
All the faculties are very good and highly qualified. The professor to student ratio is about 1 : 8 per year students. The professors are highly knowledgeable and easily approachable over phones and mail and are very helpful. Two exams are held per semester - one mid sem and one end sem. The questions are of medium difficulty but if have attended the lectures properly then the questions are easy.
Likes
- The college provides a steady platform for developing one's own skills, through tech clubs and hackathons. People interested in self improvement through learning will never be short of opportunities here, as there is always something new to try on..
- The research culture in the institute is quite well developed, especially for the Computer Science, Electronics and Metallurgy departments. The research output is excellent and the Professors are well known in their respective fields.
Dislikes
- The administration can be slow and inactive sometimes, and requires a large push before taking any steps on any major decision.
Faculty:
The class size is around 80-100 on average. Most faculty are quite good, while some are excellent and a few are not up to mark in terms of teaching. Examinations are frequent and rigorous, and need continuous study to excel.
Likes
- The thing I liked the most about NIT Durgapur is it's management, the management is very strict with first year student but it's for our own good . College is strictly against ragging and it's really efficient too.
- The girls to boys ratio is quite good , like in our computer science batch theres a total of 187 students in which 36 girls and rests are boys which is nearly 1:4 good for a NIT. Also girls here are very friendly 😉.
Dislikes
- The most disliked thing by me here is the politics, yes there is politics divided into zones from different States students of India. Here's a student body called Gymkhana which conducts this election which every year cause a real chaos afaik.
- Here exist a culture called zone in or zone out , if u choose to zone in you'll get ragged but along with that you'll get help from alumnis and seniors and even in club entries but if u choose to zone out noone will ever touch u
Faculty:
Faculty-student Ratio: 224 faculty members and more than 3300 enrolled students so the faculty to student ratio is somewhere around 1:14 Relationship with faculties: well some of them are really really good and easily approachable I'll even say most of them are but not anything is perfect so basically a few professors are bad too , in my section H the faculties are quite good and they explain everything perfectly such as Rp nanda sir in mechanics, Rajiv sir the best in Cs , prof Sahoo in physics and others but in section F math faculty Anita pal is bad , also our math faculty Md Firoz Ali is godly , his explanation is extremely good never thought a college professor can explain that good. Exams: (Odd semester)Mid semester in September mostly, end semester in November or early December (Even semester) Mid semester in March and end sem occur in April or early may the students will get a summer break of 2.5 months Difficulty: it's not difficult to get a cgpa of 8+ here.

- NIT Durgapur's NIRF ranking of 2024 is 44th in the Engineering categories.
Dislikes
- 1st year's restrictions 1) Not allow in any feast in late night 2) don't allow out of campus without family.
- The academic pressure of NIT Durgapur is too much

The faculty to students ratio is 8:10 Relationship between students and faculty are good Our mathematics faculty is good his teaching methods are good and he is very nice to students Mr. MD Firoz sir.he is such a good person

- The curriculum for all branches is good. The quality of infrastructure also top class in academic building. Along with this college has better laboratory in every departments.
- Campus is very clean and green. The good thing about the night of NIT-Dgp is, it is supposed to be late evening rather than a night because the hustle and bustle is found in the late evening time.
Dislikes
- In academics, You can feel the pressure of a student which the departmental profs. It can be identified by the student face. in some semester of B.Tech, there is more number of labs subject which is time waste sometimes.
- In final year also, The professors are very strict to their subjects, The students placement is not in their priority list. It your responsibility to manage the academics as well as your skill which will you take to the Placements.
Faculty:
To be honest, The Faculty member of the branches like CSE, ECE, EE, CHE are very supportive to the students. They provide notes and they are very casual to the class. They even cancel some classes if students requests for that. They give some hints and selected topics to the students for the semester examination. Even they give marks very easily, they don't expect much perfection in answers. On the other hand for some branches like Civil, MME, ME, BT, faculty members are very strict and even they pressurise the syudents too much. generally they don't support the students in their academics like they don't provide note, they don't give some hints and selected topics to the students before the semester exam. They expect perfect answer from the students even though they don't make students understand themselves. along with theory classes, They don't provide lab manual to the student. Students search on the internet before they start writing the manual. They don't give marks in lab also.

- Student representative body for addressing students' need to the administration
Dislikes
- Restrictions on basis of gender and accessibility
- Hostel infrastructures are decades old and need upgrades
Faculty:
Faculty to Student ratio varies between 1:8-1:20. For Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering departments it was the highest as number of students were greater than 160. Though all the faculty members and professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable, and guide well throughout the path of college life.
