NIT Durgapur Scholarship 2024: Fees & Facilities
NIT Durgapur offers several scholarship schemes for its needy and meritorious students on the basis of their scores/merits in the last qualifying examination or entrances. Also, the students seeking admission to the full-time M.Tech program of NIT Durgapur with a valid GATE Score are able to get the scholarship of INR 8,000. Regarding fee.. I fell that it's really high for students who doesn't have lesser income certificate. Because paying around 1 lakh a semester is really painful for the people whose economic background goes just beyond 5 lakhs
Likes
- Decent placements with good companies providing a variety of opportunities to students.
- Competent peers to grow and collaborate with for both skill and self development.
Dislikes
- Traditional curriculum and Teaching methods are decent.
- Campus is relatively distant from major cities which is a drawback
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The Tution fee is 150000 and hostel fee is around 50000 anually. Numerous scholarships are available to eligible students which can be applied either from college or independently .However,there are no campus employment oppurtunities provided.
Likes
- Infrastructure is very good , The class rooms are very newly built the NAB.
- Labs are very well maintained, all the equipments are there.
Dislikes
- Hostel are pretty descent put require maintainnance.
- Medical unit is not that well equipped and require huge upgradation.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
There is no much scholarship plan for you if you are not in ews or any other reserved category.Some central and few state government scholarships are although present. Again for reserved categories and ews the tution fees are waived to a affordable limit.
Likes
- Library has a very good infrastructure and also Internet facility there is quite good
- Ece department labs are well equipped with equipments and infrastructure and facilities there is quite good.
Dislikes
- Grounds here are small with less sports facilities.
- Sports , gym and extracurricular facilities are very limited.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Fees for the reservation students is very less, but for those of general category, it is quite high. Some additional fees are there in 1st year which gets waived off in subsequent years. For general category, per semester fees from 2nd year is 76k + 19 k mess fees. There are lots of scolorahips available from West Bengal government for ews and category students.

- Faculty is very much experienced, qualified and approachable too.
- Placement is top notch.For CS,it,ece,ee, mechanical engineering courses opportunities are much more.
Dislikes
- Hostel mess food were not upto the mark and they also sometimes provide lower quality food
- For branches like chemical,metallurgy and biotechnology, placement committee not putting enough efforts.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Fee structure includes regular course fee, security deposit,hostel charges,wifi, library charges,exam charges, sports and other extracurricular activity charges,mess charge,caution money deposit and few other charges. College does provide scholarships to students whose family income is less than 5 lakhs per annum and whose family income is less than 1 lakh,they get some extra scholarships.

- NIT Durgapur is renowned for its academic excellence,especially in engineering and technology field
- It has wel-equiped labs,libraries and sport complexes
Dislikes
- The campus might feel overcrowded at times despite having modern facilities

The fees are much less than those of the private colleges. Moreover, a lot of scholarships are provided to students from backward classes and economically backward students. There are also some scholarships for meritorious students as well

- The campus environment and availability of things
- Hostel facility is very good and mess food is excellent

- The management and restrictions for 1st year
- The size of campus is very small and some labs are very hard

The fees structure is very normal like other government colleges. The hostel fees are very minimal and the hostel food is amazing. there are a lot of scholarships available. Placement rates are high and most people get placed.
Likes
- Firstly, I like the campus of NIT Durgapur which covers over 187 of land. The location of the campus is quite good, main market and city centre of Durgapur is at walking distance and one can easily visit market anytime he/she wish.
- There are very less restrictions in our campus, one will really enjoy his/her time here.
Dislikes
- Hostel are not very good in terms of basic facilities like washroom and clean rooms.
- Hostel Mess are average. You will not be satisfied with the food.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Fees structure is affordable as there is also fee waiver option for the students with less family annual income. Hostel fees are also not much high. If a student has family annual income less than 100000,he have to pay around 35000 per semester including hostel and Mess.

- The new academic block has good facilities and equipments, suitable for the students and teachers.
- Library facilities are better for the reading environment and to study
Dislikes
- The food given in the hostels are pretty much worse than the food we get outside. It needs to be improved.
- Some teachers doesn't have to approach to teach easily to students. They don't make it understandable to us.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The semester fee policy is is 13800 for Caste. For income less the 5 lakh, 1/3rd fo the fee is paid and greater than 5 lakh income people have to pay the full amount Full amount fee is around 74k per semester. Many scholarships r available for the students, National scholarship scheme and many other schemes are there for students.

- I liked the environment its peaceful and campus is not that big don't have to travel a long distance to get to classes
Dislikes
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good

Dee structure is good same for all and waivers for categories, mess fees are equal for all. Scholarship opportunities are pretty less but the state government allows you have somewhat scholarship 60k per semester thats of bengal government
