GATE exam i always want to be an IITian and especially one of the oldest IITs as IIT Kanpur is one of the most prominent institute in India. I always want to do higher education from the best options available.
GATE 2004, I secured AIR 79, GATE Percentile of 99.58I joined M.Tech at IIT Kanpur as I got selected in their interview. IIT Kanpur is good in academics and near to my native (Karnal, haryana).
IIT JEE, I chose this course over others as iron and steel making was my interest area, which forms an integral part of the metallurgical eng. course. Admission process included 2 exams, 1 for screening through an objective test of Maths, Physics and Chemistry, while the other being a subjective exam for each of these subjects. Around top 5000 of the total 3 lakh candidates were finally granted admission into the IITs.
Best opportunities, best facilities, lot of flexibility but lot of pressure to perform and study hard also. Not so easy to score.
The college management is mostly good, although it depends on the department in which you are but in general, everything is good you make a lot of friends. The hostel life is amazing. I loved the hostel life and will never forget it.
No bad remark excellent infrastructure and good quality classroom as well as nice student teacher relationship.
Location is little issue as it is not connected nicely from air (nearest airport Lucknow 80km)I found culture of UP is little bit different.
Everything is good here. However, students may get used to this good environment and good corruption free behavior with comparatively smart people in company. Once they will step outside in normal India, it can be realized, it's not so much good and peopl
Nothing much. It is very good experience to study in prestigious college. And you will not only explore technologies but also your self.
Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
