Campus Life:

Engifest (in the month of February) annual cultural fest of DTU focuses on innovation and cultural aspects, Yuvaan is literary Society fest, Invictus is tech related fest focuses on innovation and tech skill. Aahvaan is a sports fest of DTU. One can easily access library by visiting and online too with DTU student email I'd. Sports and extra curricular facilities are provided, there is a little lack of coach for every sports.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum should get change a little bit. It's a design course, so the curriculum should be more flexible and student should able to focus on one problem at a time, not many problems at one time. There is a lack of real world application, sometimes it's there but most of the time it's not. The exams are on time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was interested in product designing and in nift I was able to get in depth information to the topic related to the field of designing and this was the only government college where I was eligible to get admission right after my 3 year bachelor's degree. Faculty to Student ratio is good over 36 students we've 5 different Faculty each whom is at least post graduate in design. Passing criteria is not that difficult, everyone in our class has passed no matter their knowledge levele

Campus Life:

Social life of nift is cool, there are fest in both the session main fest of all nift campuses is held in December whereas the intra campus which is spectrum is held in February. College is equipped with all kind of outdoor games and there is spefic club for that. Also there's is cultural club and social club. Also the library has most of the resources and is opened my till 10 in night

There is a good life on campus in sense of social life, peer-to-peer learning, research, design, and exploratory in various domains to understand system-level understanding. Converse and spectrum are too major events for sports activities. There are so many industrial visits and craft clusters for incubative study.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose that course to gain system-level understanding and research. There are 70% girls and 30 boys. Teaching methods of nift are really good and hardcore learning. There are 3 tests for every semester it's all about presentation there is no hard thing to pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always wanted to pursue something creative and it felt like the right choice considering all my other options at that time. But I would recommend everyone to do their research properly before going for any course. The faculty is knowledgeable and well-qualified. For 36 students we have 4 faculty and the rest are visiting faculty. The term exams are fairly easy to pass and happen on a timely basis.

Placement Experience:

Students in PG become eligible in the third sem. Major companies are Aravind mills, satva consulting, Myntra, target, Aditya Birla, etc. The average package is 4 lac and the highest is 10-12 lacs. Students can get into visual design, brand management, graphic design, UI UX design, trend forecaster, etc. I plan on getting a job and working as a UI UX designer.

Placement Experience:

I did an internship with the Mind tree consulting and it was an amazing experience for me. Now coming to the full-time opportunity there were several offers made from some renowned brands like IBM, Flip kart, TCS, Kanbay, Cognizant, TCS, FICO, Virtusa India, Cordys, etc. We got the offers for the domains like Human-Computer Interfaces and Interaction Design, Design and Management Consultancies, New media and Game Design, E-learning & Web Technologies System Design and Information Architecture, etc. the average package I was offered was around Rs. 8,00,000.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It’s a two years long course and it is comprised of 4 semesters. We had been provided theoretical knowledge as well as practical knowledge through industrial training, workshops, etc. We did two thesis projects and during this time we got enough guidance from our teachers. We got work to develop skills in project design, innovation, creative designing, and many more. This course is perfect for those who love to think in both a creative way and an analytical way.

Campus Life:

My experience at the campus was ok. I attended fewer festivals and events since I was already preoccupied with a lot of classwork and projects. The cultural board of the institute organized some of the best events on the campus and people from all over the city came to watch. The problem I faced initially on campus was of language a little bit, rest everything was ok. I participated in "Alcher"- the annual cultural festival every year.

Placement Experience:

Due to the distinct location of the campus, few companies visit the campus for placements. A number of opportunities are less but very good. If you want to land in a great company, I suggest you start preparing from the start of your course so that you have a good understanding of the subjects. In my batch, the highest CTC went to Rs.1.5 CPA. Various job roles were offered like Product Designer, Graphic Designer, UX, and UI.

Placement Experience:

There are less but some pretty good opportunities available for the students of M.Des here at IIT. Every year placement percentage is 100. Most of the batch mates opted to go outside India for the job since there are much better opportunities available there. In general, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Tres Vista, Ford, GAIL Limited, IBM, Sapient, Reckitt Benckiser, Indiamart, HDFC Bank, Deloitte, Cognizant Technology Services were the major participants.

Campus Life:

My two years here at IIT Kanpur campus went well. I learned how to balance between enjoyment and study. Science and Tech fest of the college was always a big hit of the year as it attracted thousands of participants breaking up their barriers of thinking in the field of science. Clubs are very limited in number so one doesn't get that much social interaction. Canteens were the hub of gossips and social meetings.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is offered, even internships are offered within the 1st semester. Almost all of the placement and internship tasks are handled by the students itself hence they have a tendency to make sure maximum placement happens in their respective class, which is good. Design also has highest placement in the college. Mostly UI/UX companies come , for Visual designers , user experience design, and a few maybe 2-3 industrial design oriented companies sometimes come for placement season for design departments.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

Fees is standard 2.5 lakh for general category, i am not sure though. Stipend of 12400 was awarded to all Masters students. Although new regulation suggests they will stop the stipend soon. Job is mostly in UI/UX domain , a few industrial design companies also visit for recruitment.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

Scholarships help motivate students to pursue their dreams if they can't afford it. NIFT provides financial aid to students from humble backgrounds from the first year. The scholarships available are 'Sarthak' NIFT Financial Assistance Scheme and 'Udaan' NIFT Means-cum-Merit Scheme for Foreign Students. Loans are also available from banks.

Admission:

The admission process went somewhat like this: first I registered/applied online on the college website for M.Des. Then I had to write an entrance exam. When I passed it, there was a group discussion and an interview, and finally counselling was done about the course and the college.

Admission:

There was an entrance exam called NIFT entrance, which was conducted in January 2019. There are total 117 seats all over India, for MDes, except the NRI seats. The entrance test had two phases - the GAT and CAT. After which, there's GDPI round. I got common merit rank 112, and category rank 15. Then we had counselling round where you have to choose your center (available WRT merit ranks), and I chose NIFT Delhi. That's how I got my admission at NIFT Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like how the course is multidisciplinary. You have 4 major subjects, common to everyone, and then you can choose your specialisation. There are 4 available right now - Design for society, strategic design, theoretical design, and experience design. The exam structure is pretty simple. You are evaluated continuously on the basis of your assignments, and you have a final jury in the end.

Huge options available in Choosing electives even possible to select interdisciplinary.

Faculty:

The faculty were good and very academic focused. A lot of emphasis was given on methodology and process. All professors don't have too much industrial experience, so there is a lacking where latest trends in interaction are concerned. However most of the professors are PhD holders and have published alot of papers at International conferences.

Exam Structure:

Our schedule was very hectic with alot of focus on attendance. We never had exams. Only assignments. However, assignments were given on a weekly basis. Each module ran across 2 weeks. So there was alot happening and alot to learn. The last year had 2 projects. 1 students did in house where as the other was preferably done in the industry.
