IIT Kanpur to Organise 57th Convocation Ceremony on June 29 for Over 2000 Students

The convocation ceremony will be held in two sessions in the Main Auditorium of the institute, which has a seating capacity of 1250. The distribution of degrees will take place in Lecture Halls in Session II.

IIT Kanpur to Organise 57th Convocation Ceremony on June 29 for Over 2000 Students

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, IIT Kanpur is preparing to organise its 57th convocation ceremony for its graduating students on June 29, 2024 to celebrate their academic success. The event will be attended by 2332 students who completed their UG, PG or PhD degrees.

This year, the graduation ceremony will be held for 226 students from PhD, 457 from MTech, 842 from BTech,165 students from MSc (2-year), 36 from MBA, 12 from MTech-PhD (Joint Degree), 1 from MDes (Joint Degree), 17 from MDes and 77 from MS (by Research) program.

Additionally, degrees will be awarded to 40 students from PGPEX-VLFM, 26 from Double Major, 89 from Dual Degree, 14 from MS-PD (MS part of the Dual Degree), 125 from BS, and 205 from the eMasters degree programs.

The IIT Kanpur’s 57th Convocation Ceremony will be graced by the President of Oregon State University, USA (OSU), Prof. Jayathi Y. Murthy, an IIT-K alumna. Prof Jayathi completed her Bachelor's in Mechanical engineering from IIT Kanpur. 

Key Highlights of IIT Kanpur 57th Convocation Ceremony

As per IIT Kanpur, the ceremony will be held in two sessions in the Main Auditorium of the institute, which has a seating capacity of 1250. The distribution of degrees will take place in Lecture Halls in Session II.

Session 1 of the ceremony will be held from 9:30 to 12:30 for UG and PG students of IIT Kanpur who are selected through a lottery. The session will be attended by dignitaries such as the Chief Guest, the Chairperson of BOG and the Director of IIT Kanpur.

The first session will accommodate 900 to 950 students and family members of such students will have access to a live webcast of the ceremony in the Lecture Hall. Session 2 of the ceremony will cover the distribution of degree certificates to students.

Informing about the convocation, the official notice reads, "We extend our most cordial invitation to you to attend the Convocation and to receive your degree in person. We hope that you will be present on the occasion. Please note that you must reach the campus well in advance for the occasion so that you can participate in the rehearsal on June 28, 2024".
