Course curriculum of our college is much better than the other colleges, reason for that is , here they start teaching the core subjects from the beginning of the semester not like other prestigious colleges where you have to study chemistry and all in the first semester. The courses are flexible and completely relevent to the subject. Only problem with this is, here they really don't give alot of opportunities to do the practical on each and every topics. Though their are alot of labs built in but still they do not focus on the practical knowledge. Frankly speaking, after attending the college for four years, I have not gained any real world experience, maybe because I was more focused on getting job in IT sector. In our college we don't have a system of midsem and end sem instead we have components i.e c1, c2 and c3. Because of that the frequency of exams of each subjects increases alot. It's as if we are giving paper every month.

Course curriculum for Electrtronics & Communication Engineering(ECE) is good but you will not find many student pursuing ECE core. Maximum students prefer to go or work in IT sector. Now , Exams are held in Mid sem-Endsem format. Before C1-C2-C3 system was applicable.

Course schedule's are a bit hectic which involves 6-7 hours of classes daily and a quite hectic continuous evaluation system which occurs thrice per semester which has now changed to twice per semester . Attendance criteria should be relaxed a bit.

I want to take IT jobs and so this college is well known for its placement in IT Industry. But My jee rank is not eligible for IT that's why I choose ECE here. The curriculum of ECE is quite good and solved practical problems but the schedule is very hectic here. As there is continuous Evaluation, the frequency of exams are very high. The ECE curriculum is not so easy . It consist of many labs and project works.

curriculum was a bit changed from our batch befor our batch there was cclc curriculum but from our batch it got changed from cclc to nep so this new curriculum is better than the first because the first curriculum was totally depended on the class topper marks this nep curriculum includes internal marks and externals

Well I had interest in ece. The curriculum is not that much good. There are opportunities to do research under professors. There should be an improvement in the frequency of exams. They take a lot of exams so we don't get time for other activities and core learning.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is really good in IIIT Allahabad. The ECE core subjects are FEE , Analog Electronics , Analog communication , Digital IC Design etc. The faculties of ECE are so good at their field . The curriculam subjects are good enough for internships and for higher education. When it comes to exams , the difficulty level of question papers are depend on the faculty in charge. In general , the level of question papers are moderate.

Course curriculum is decent but one has to have decent knowledge of physics along with some interest in electronic to do well in this course. The curriculum prepares well as there are many lab sessions held which gives an overall idea of all the concepts involved. For teaching methods I think the professors should more frequently use projectors which are a time saver and it helps in understanding the concept easily. The exams are held twice a semester and the difficulty ranges from medium to hard.

I am personally very much interested in coding and comuter science, and my collage is the best known for its coding culture. @HarshaSurnarayan, the legend of competetive coding, belong to IIITA. Every faculty is P.hd qualified from esteemed college like IIT-Kanpur,IIT-KGP,etc.. and highly interested in research. There are very supportive and always encourage for aligining us towards research. The exam patterns are quite simple, there is midterm and endsem.

I choose this course because first of all this college is very famous for its coding culture. And on the other hand it has one of the best placements in our country. IIITA has around 120 faculty in total and intake per year is around 450. All teachers are well qualified like they have their phd degree from IITs. Teaching method is also good. But this college is relatively more hectic than any other engineering colleges. From this year new education policy is adopted by this college so we have two exams one is mid term and other is end term. Apart from that they take some quizzes in between. You can pass easily in all subjects. But if you want to score good cgpa then you have to study hard.
IIT Allahabad is an excellent place for students looking for a well-rounded degree course in ECE. Here are some persuasive highlights that make it an attractive choice:
In conclusion, IIIT Allahabad's new campus offers an ideal blend of academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and a supportive environment. It promises to be a place where students can not only gain knowledge but also create lasting memories and develop important skills for their future careers.
There are a lot of things that come into consideration while choosing a course. One of my friends opted for ECE at IIIT Allahabad, let me share his experience, with which you might get a proper understanding.
Choosing the best college for you depends on the various parameters like your interest, location, professors, infrastructure, laboratories, culture, academic records, alumni network, and placement. Thus, choose wisely.
Yes, ECE at IIIT Allahabad is surely worth choosing over CS at NITs like Kurukshetra, Surat, or Bhopal. I may not have much information about Surat and Bhopal but here is a detailed comparison between IIIT Allahabad and NIT Kurukshetra

Another reason I am suggesting you join IIIT Allahabad is that if you work hard in the first year, you can upgrade your branch to IT and avail some amazing opportunities.
If you're interested in IIITs ECE program, then you should probably think about other schools as well. If you are going to study ECE at IIIT, you should think again. There are advantages and disadvantages of studying at IIIT.

However, if you really want to become an expert in electronics, then by all means go for it but make sure to give your best to acquire knowledge and get a good score. People often find it hard to see the value of electronics, but if you've already decided to focus on it. Don't get distracted by college. Work hard in your field of study. Don't put too much emphasis on college.
If you are concerned about the brand then definitely go for IIIT Allahabad. But, if you are clear with your choice of stream you can choose either of them. If you choose NIT Jamshedpur CSE it’s good and so is the same with IIIT Allahabad.
I can share one of my cousin’s experiences, who passed out from NIT Jamshedpur.
Let me make it more clearly for you by categorizing engineering colleges:
Tier - 1 |
IIT B,K,KGP,D,M,R, BHU, HYD,BITS Pilani-Pilani campus,IIIT HYD, IIIT Allahabad, NIT K,W,T, DTU, NSIT, ISM(Dhanbad) |
Tier - 2 |
New IITs like Mandi, Gandhinagar, Patna, DAIICT, BITS HYD, BITS GOA, BIT Mesra, IIIT Bangalore, IIITM Gwalior, NITs - Calicut, Nagpur, Rourkela, Kurukshetra, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jaipur, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Jadavpur University, IIIT Delhi, LNMIIT, Thapar university. |
Tier - 3 |
Rest of the NITs |
Tier - 4 |
Lower Level State Government Colleges. |
Tier - 5 |
Amity, LPU, ITM, Manipal, SRM Main, GLA-Mathura, Galgotia, BML, SRMS, VIT, JNTU , BMS Bangalore , RV Bangalore and other private engineering colleges and other IIITs Like Vadodara etc and other top state government colleges. |
This categorization might help you to decide. Also, skills do not depend on the branding of the building. It is something you learn eventually. Moreover, choose a college which has easy access to transport, shops, etc.
Also, if you see around there is infinite demand for highly skilled electronics engineers with impressive TopCOder and GitHub profiles. So, choosing either of the colleges won’t be a loss. But, if you have a specific interest in a particular stream like ECE in IIIT Allahabad or NIT Jamshedpur will prove a good choice too.
An ECE at IIIT, Allahabad is preferable to an IT at BIT, Mesra. Of course, the choice of the branch is subjective and should be chosen based on our own interests and preferences. But still, a degree at IIIT Allahabad is much more valuable than that of BIT Mesra.
The best thing about IIIT, Allahabad is its focus on research and thus will provide you the extra edge over other similar level candidates. The course structure is very focused and you will get subjects such as integrated robotics and many others. IIIT, Allahabad also offers the best facilities to hone your programming skills.
The table below will give a few stats of both the institutes.
BIT Mesra |
IIIT Allahabad |
|
Average CTC (2019 - 2020) |
INR 11.76 LPA |
INR 20.83 LPA |
Highest CTC (2019 - 2020) |
INR 49.76 LPA |
INR 43 LPA |
NIRF Ranking (2020) |
38 |
103 |
And then the fee structure of IIIT Allahabad is also much more affordable, 1.65 lakhs first-year fee to BIT Mesra’s 2.85 lakhs first-year fee, compared to BIT Mesra which gives the degree much more value with all the facilities, research opportunities, and placements it has to offer. Thus IIIT Allahabad is favored.
According to the recent placement highlights, IIIT Allahabad ECE average package is INR 10 LPA. Not many core companies visit the campus placement. But this is the case for most colleges. Companies visiting the campus placement are mostly from IT sector. Companies like Samsung, Sandisk, Qualcomm, Google, etc. hire through campus placement.
If you have some knowledge of programming, Data Structures, CS fundamentals, etc. you can get decent placement opportunities.
IIIT Allahabad is unquestionably superior to NIT Durgapur. But this isn't to say that NIT Durgapur isn't good.
Here’s a brief comparison of the ECE branch at these two institutes.

Apart from that, just like NITD, IIIT Allahabad is an institute of national importance that is entirely funded by the Ministry of Human Resources Development.
So, for ECE, IIIT Allahabad is definitely the better option.
Before deciding on any institute you should analyze it based on different parameters. Check if the college provides good facilities like hostels equipped with a good and stable internet connection, good food, satisfactory infrastructure, and the most important, a good campus placement drive. Both IIIT Allahabad and NIT Durgapur offer above-average facilities. Here is a brief outline of the institute.

If we look at the placement scenario closely, we can see that IIIT Allahabad has a better placement record and gets more companies. They also provide a higher package to their students. This does not make NIT Durgapur bad. Even NIT Durgapur provides good placements as well as opportunities for higher studies as well.
Both the colleges have a similar kind of course curriculum and nobody can force you to study.
It is not fair to compare the two universities because both of them are unique in themselves and have their charm. So, choose according to your convenience.
It is unfair to compare IIIT Allahabad with NIT Hamirpur. If you take a look at the closing cutoff for IIIT Allahabad and NIT Hamirpur, the difference will be clear.
If you have the option to choose IIIT Allahabad, go for it without giving it a second thought. Now if you clear the cutoff for IT at IIIT A, you will be eligible for ECE as well.
