The course curriculum is very good and completed in a timely and systematic manner, so I like this procedure and am enjoying it. The course is also helpful for competitive examinations and campus placements.
Many companies visit our campus every year for internships and placements. They offer students stipend internships, which can be done during their winter and summer breaks, each of which lasts for two months.

Dislikes

Industrial exposure in our college is poor, mainly due to the lack of a permanent campus.
The worst thing about this college is that it has been functioning from a temporary campus. The opportunities and facilities for the students are limited because of this.

Senior are helping and friendly and guide in academics
Girls ratio is very good and is about 1:5

Dislikes

The campus is temporary and we have to travel by transport to reach hostel
Boys not allowed out of hostel after 7 pm

Placement Experience:

This year 2024 student got highest package by students is 51 lakh and lowest is not known and many companies visit here approx 50 company and placement ratio is very approx 80 percentage My plan is to get placement off campus

Likes

There faculty how they teach student with providing proper practical and real life knowledge
Each course which teachers teaches also have lab of that course which help in getting the topics more widely and keenly

Dislikes

Shillong climate changes very drastically, most of the time we faced raining and too much cold at the time of winter
Shillong traffic is also another reason for disliking that place

Placement Experience:

Generally companies come in NIT, meghalaya for hiring students and if you had a caliber you will definitely get good placements, we can also go through off campus placements, generally off campus placements are higher than on campus

Professor was very good, kind and always help students if they facing some problems in their academic or if they feel stress they motivates us with there kind words. They suggest many books for reading that help us in our studies & getting Good mark.

Students from 4th year are able to sit in placements. Many companies from the IT sector come to college to offer the placements and it will be as per your Knowledge. Nearly 70% of people who sit for placement will get a job.

Placements of our colleges is good and percentage of placements are goid
Maximum number of our faculty are highly educated and they have maximum knowledge.

Dislikes

Our college's permenant campus is under construction
Mess food of our college is not so good.

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester, students are allowed to sit in placements. Many companies visit our colleges like L&T, Powergrid, Microsoft, Alstrum, Tech Mahindra, and TCS as this many companies will come, the Highest package of our college is 45LPA, and the placement percentage is about 60%.

Dislikes

Food of college gets worse some time but it is ok
As we are in temprory campus we live in our hostel is far from college

From the end of 5th sem we are eligible for placement we get good internships also so many companies visit every in our college including software and core companies also comes the highest package was 55 lakh from Amazon

From 6 semesters students become eligible for campus placements. NIT Meghalaya has concluded its placement drive for the batch passing out in 2022. The institute has achieved an overall 70% placements for the academic year 2021-2022. The companies are Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, etc.

Remarks:

NIT Meghalaya is a decent institute as par as studies are concerned. You will have ample of chance to study and learn new stuffs, being a new institute you get a lot of stuffs and initiatives to be done and handled single handy which gives another chance not only to learn and showcase your skills but also to use it in future for organizing similar stuffs in future.Being a MeghNITe , it was always a cutting edge for me in interviews and people used to literally appreciate the exposure I had even from being a remote located college of India ( though it was not pretty different to what a normal NITian would had in other NIT).If you do same thing in limited resources to what your competitor does with ample of resources, even having same outcome it?Ûªs more likely to get appreciated and this is what happens when you are studying at new NIT.Coming to infrastructure : NIT M has decent labs ( comparable to even many of old IITs ) ,mix of youth ,energetic and quite experienced pool of faculties , prime location and technically sound students as college.I would suggest to go ahead with decision and consider it a fair Chance to study at NITM (Provided you do not have any better option).
