NIT Kurukshetra MBA Admissions 2024 are going on. The deadline for the online submission of the applications is May 05, 2024. The final selection of the candidates will be based on the performance of the candidates in group discussions and interview rounds. NIT Kurukshetra will display the list for GD and PI on May 08, 2024, and the same will be conducted on May 17, 2024. 

NIT Kurukshetra offers a 2-year-long MBA program in 5 different specialisations. Candidates are required to have valid CAT/ CMAT/ MAT along with a bachelor’s degree to be eligible for the MBA program. However, students have to appear for the GD and PI rounds which will hold nearly 30% of weightage during the selection procedure. The total fees charged by the institute for the MBA program is INR 2.15 Lakhs with a total seat intake of 53. Furthermore, as per the latest placement report released by NIT Kurukshetra, the range of packages remained between INR 4 Lakhs to INR 13.58 Lakhs. The average package stood at INR INR 7.15 LPA. A total of 24 students got placed out of a batch of 36 students. 

NIT Kurukshetra MBA Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to MBA program at NITR must satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates should have passed Graduation or equivalent qualification (10+2+3) of minimum 3 years duration in any stream from a recognized institute.
  • Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates must have qualified CAT/CMAT/MAT or any other National level test.

Selection: NIT Kurukshetra offers admissions to the MBA program to eligible candidates on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam. Based on the performance in Group Discussions and Personal Interviews and CAT/CMAT/MAT/Any other National Level Test Score, a merit list will be prepared and displayed on the notice board of the department and the institute's website. The weightage criteria is as follows:

  • CAT/CMAT/MAT or any other National level test scores: 70 Marks
  • Performance in GD & PI: 30 Marks

Ques. How well is the NIT Kurukshetra campus equipped for conducting presentations and the placement process for MBA students? When does the placement program take place?

Ans. The campus is equipped with a Senate Hall, presentation facilities, Computer labs (LAN connected) as well as multimedia and projection facilities. Conference rooms, presentation rooms, etc. can also be arranged if required. Most of the organizations start visiting campus from May - June for both hiring pre-final year (16 weeks to 20 weeks’ internship) and final year students.

Ques. Can an MBA student apply to more than one company once he/she is placed at NIT Kurukshetra placement drives?

Ans. No. The training and placement Cell has implemented a “One student, one job” policy wherein a student is not allowed to sit for further placement sessions once he/she is placed. However, all the students would be eligible to sit for further companies provided 80% of the eligible students of the particular branch are placed. For PSUs, the percentage rolls down to 60% of the eligible students for the second round of placement sessions.

Ques. Does NIT Kurukshetra provide any seats for the sponsored candidates for the MBA program?

Ans. For admission to the sponsored candidates, there is no requirement for the CAT/ MAT/ CMAT scores. However, candidates must have two years of experience to be eligible for the MBA program. NIT Kurukshetra offers a total of 7 seats to the sponsored candidates.
