IIT Delhi MTech admissions 2024 will start on March 20, 2024 and the last date to apply for MTech courses is April 04, 2024. The institute accepts MTech admissions based on GATE Score and further seat allocation of seats is done via COAP counselling. IIT Delhi offers an MTech program in a total of 43 specializations. IIT Delhi M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

IIT Delhi MTech admission requires candidates to have finished or be in the last year of an approved degree program. Applicants who have passed or are appearing in the final year of their qualifying degree from any Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and have a minimum CGPA of 8.0 are eligible for direct admission to IIT Delhi without having to meet the GATE requirements. Admission to postgraduate programs at IIT Delhi is available to UG candidates with advanced standing. The course is available in three modes, and eligibility varies depending on their status. IIT Delhi MTech Admissions are based on a GATE Score followed by valid COAP counseling. For Part-time candidates, Candidates are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority in the organization. Candidates in the final year of their programs and who expect to complete all their qualifying degree requirements before the third week of July 2024 are eligible to apply for admission. Admission to M.Tech (part-time) programs is restricted to personnel of Public Sector Undertakings, Government Departments, Research and Development Organizations, and Private Companies (as permitted by Faculty Boards). For the IIT Delhi M.Tech Program, the minimal experience (full-time) necessary after the qualifying degree and as of the date of registration is 6 months.

IIT Delhi M.Tech Admission Procedure

Candidates for admission to IIT Delhi's MTech program are invited to apply by advertising the programs in March/October each year. The candidates must then apply online in accordance with the instructions provided in the advertisements. For M.Tech degrees, admissions are often conducted through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The detailed IIT Delhi M.Tech admission process is as follows:

  • Filling IIT Delhi M.Tech Application - Applicants must first complete the IIT Delhi M.Tech admission 2024 online application form. Candidates must indicate their admission mode on the application form, whether they are an IIT graduate with an 8.0 CGPA or through GATE.
  • Register for COAP 2024 - Candidates must register for GATE COAP 2024 after completing the application form to be considered for admission to the institute. In the GATE COAP process, candidates must select IIT Delhi as their desired college.
  • Seat Allotment- Applicants who applied using their GATE scores can verify their allotment status using the COAP seat allotment timetable. IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher must check in to the IIT Delhi candidate portal to schedule personal interviews. The interview will take place online.
  • Admission process - Applicants who are assigned seats must complete the additional admission process as directed by the IIT Delhi webpage.

IIT Delhi does not provide scholarships for students pursuing M.Tech., M.S. (Research), and M.Des programs. However, there is a financial support program in operation. In addition to teaching and research assistantships, businesses, alumni, and private citizens offer these students a variety of grants and scholarships. There is a scheme in place for the award of Teaching/Research Assistantships to help with student finances.
