IIT Delhi MBA Admission 2024: Dates, Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility, Placement, Syllabus

IIT Delhi MBA 2024 admissions are currently ongoing. IIT Delhi MBA GD and PI is scheduled on 9th/10th & 15th, 16th, 17th March. IIT Delhi final admission results will be released in the first week of May 2024. IIT Delhi MBA admissions are based on CAT Scores. IIT Delhi offers a 2-3 year-long MBA program in full-time mode. The IIT Delhi MBA Admission process consists of shortlisting based on CAT score followed by a personal interview. 

In the year 2023, IIT Delhi selected 25% fresher and 75% experienced candidates where 66% were males and 34% were females. The average work experience of the batch is 23 months. Furthermore, the maximum selection came from Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical & Automation Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering followed by CSE, IT and Mathematics & Computing specializations. The 58% of the IIT Delhi MBA batch was from IITs/ NITs/ SRCC. In the MBA 2024 selection criteria, IIT Delhi gives special preference to candidates belonging to tier 1 colleges and 6 marks has been allocated to this parameter.

IIT Delhi has also released the revised selection criteria for the year 2024. This year CAT score has been awarded a weightage of 60% while preparing PI Calls list. Bachelor’s degree/ class 12/ class 10 score and work experience have been awarded a weightage of 7 marks each while preparing the PI Call shortlist. To encourage gender diversity in the batch, female candidates will be further awarded an additional score of 6 marks. The PI Call cutoff for PI category is 46.65 marks for 2024. 

IIT Delhi's final selections will be based on an aggregate of shortlisting Index score (65% weightage), interview (30%) and Extra-curricular activities (05). The average CAT percentile of IIT Delhi 2023 batch was 98.6 (freshers) and 97.6 (Overall) and for the IIT Delhi Admissions 2024 the CAT percentile is expected to remain same.

IIT Delhi MBA Eligibility

The basic eligibility criteria required for IIT Delhi MBA admissions include CAT exam scores, work experience, and past academic performance. Given below is the course-wise eligibility required for applying:

For MBA:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
2. A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent in the qualifying degree.
3. A relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e. min. 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e. min. 5.50 on a 10-point scale) for the SC/ST/PwD candidates.
4. Candidates appearing for the final year of the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the program provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate by a certain date.
5. Those having applied to IIT Delhi MBA programs on qualifying for the CAT 2023 will be shortlisted and then invited for an interview, which will be held at IIT Delhi.

For MBA (Telecommunication Systems Management):

1. Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering (minimum 4 years after 10+2)

OR

1. Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Physical/Chemical/Mathematical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture, or Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Economics, CA/ICWA.
2. A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent in the qualifying degree.
3.  A relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e. min. 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e. min. 5.50 on a 10-point scale) for the SC/ST/PwD candidates.
4.  Candidates appearing for the final year of the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the program provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate by a certain date

For Executive MBA:

• Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Operation Research, Computer Application, Economics, Commerce, and CA/ICWAI

AND

• A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent in the above-mentioned degree programs are essential for admission.
• For SC/ST/PH category Students, minimum performance in the qualifying degree with postgraduate qualification is relaxed from 60% to 55% (CGPA relaxed from 6.00 to 5.50).
• A minimum of 2 years of post-qualifying degree work experience as on 01 August 2024.
