Chemical engineering is one of the most sought after courses in the world and one of the hardest to study. The curriculum is well structured with common courses in the first year and start of chemical engineering courses from the second year. Enough options of electives and interdisciplinary courses to choose from and build your know-how according to your interest. Exams are held twice every semester and the difficulty level is generally hard.

Curiculum is quite chilled as compared to other. The curiculum helps me in getting the expertise of the chemical engg plants and its functioning. Teaching is quite less attractive, attendance of 75% is must. Exams and quizzes happen every month, sometimes its tough and sometimes its easy based on the class notes.

B.Tech in Chemical Engineering curriculum at IITs typically includes foundational courses in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, followed by core courses specific to chemical engineering. Some common subjects you might encounter include: Thermodynamics Fluid Mechanics Heat Transfer Mass Transfer Chemical Reaction Engineering Process Control Process Design and Economics Material and Energy Balances Organic and Inorganic Chemistry Faculty:student 1 : 15 There are minor and major exams in each semster and quizes of small weightage.

I am enrolled in chemical engineering I chose it because it is a chill branch and considered the best in the core branch as it is less hectic than another core branch, I was not getting a circuital branch in any old iit so I chose iitd.

I chose this course because I had a great interest in chemistry and maths from the start. There's one faculty for every 30 students. Professors are post-graduates and have a good level of knowledge. There are exams almost weekly quiz and vivas weekly. Mid-sem is every 2 months and the semester exam is every 4 months. The level of difficulty is next level. But the only problem is the course is outdated.

I chose the course because I wanted to go to IIT Delhi and I could get the course based on my rank. I found the subjects of Chemical engineering somewhat interesting which I felt I could study in the coming years. Faculty are highly qualified but understanding concepts in lectures can be tough due to high pace, large classes, and requirement of high concentration. Each sem there are minor and major exams. Honestly, it's difficult to get a good grade because of course difficulty and high competition.

The positive comments I heard from several seniors about how "chill" this branch was my primary motivation for picking this course. At my level, I had to choose between branch and college, which was a really tough decision. However, when I saw that the Chemical branch offered a well balanced schedule that would allow me plenty of time to hone my talents, I was inspired to choose it. The professors here are exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled in their field. They do a variety of studies here and are sufficiently qualified to be well-known internationally. There are three types of exams: quiz, minor, and major. Professor-related quizzes can occur at any time, whereas minors and majors only appear in the middle and conclusion of each semester, respectively. They are clearly written in the IIT Delhi academic schedule.
Yes, irrespective of the branch, choosing IIT Delhi will always prove to be beneficial for you. IIT Delhi has ties with many big firms that visit the campus for placements and offer great packages irrespective of your branch. One needs to be proficient in DSA and other computer science core subjects such as OOPS, OS, DBMS, and Computer Networks. A good grasp of these will fetch you a high-paying job no matter which branch you belong to in IIT Delhi.
Although most companies that visit IIT Delhi also visit NIT, your IIT tag will always fetch you extra benefits and no one can deny that. For instance, the same role offered to an IITiand will have more salary than that offered to a non-IITian.You can easily switch roles and fields given the brand name of the institute you are associated with. IITians even have more opportunities for higher studies in Foreign countries than non-IITians.
IITians especially from Mumbai or Delhi are always given preference over non-IITians hence it is advisable to go for IIT Delhi in any branch.

Even though CSE is a highly sought after branch in the current market, I would suggest you opt for Chemical Engineering at IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi will offer a better ROI, and its brand name will be of immense benefit if you wish to pursue higher studies in India and abroad after graduation.
You can do some research on the career and research opportunities after Chemical Engineering, and see if this branch aligns with your future goals.
I will restrict my answer to Engineering Physics and Chemicals only as I know the same only.
I wouldn’t suggest anyone go for Engineering Physics if they have no intention of pursuing it later. Instead, look for other options in BTech and explore your interests.
IIT Delhi is consistently ranked among the top engineering institutions in India. Its brand name will significantly improve your employment prospects after graduation. Moreover, the ‘IIT’ tag will be beneficial if you apply for higher education in foreign universities in the near future.

Based on their closing rank, the branches can be arranged in the following order
Chemical>Metallurgy>Textile
This was based on general data, but if you have an inclination towards a specific branch, then go for it without much hesitation. Your passion will keep you motivated despite various challenges thrown at you. But in case you have no specific preference, then you can consider the college and branch ranking to make an informed decision.
Apart from CS and Electrical, students from most branches opt for non-core jobs which require much more than their core academics for placements. In that case, you can prefer IIT BHU over IIT Roorkee.
