IIT Hyderabad Scholarship 2024: List, Amount, Eligibility, Apply online
Students of IIT Hyderabad can avail the facility of scholarships among a variety of institutes, governmental or private scholarship schemes. But for every scholarship, a student is required to successfully match the basic requirements for the scholarships. Also, a student can receive only one scholarship under any of the schemes by institute/-Gov/ Private scholarships. Some of the popular scholarships of IIT Hyderabad are mentioned below along with their details.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship:
- The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is offered by the institute and is available for only 25% of the students admitted and belonging from the Gen/OBC-NCL/EWS categories.
- The Parental income for all students in any category should not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs.
- The student should secure a minimum CGPA of 7.0 or above with no active backlogs.
- Also, the selected students will be eligible for a Pocket allowance of INR 1000 per month.
SC/ST Scholarship:
- The SC/ST Scholarship is offered to the students of SC/ST categories enrolled in the UG Programs offered by IIT Hyderabad.
- The annual parental income of the students from all the sources should not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs.
- The student should secure a minimum CGPA of 7.0 or above with no active backlogs.
- The selected candidates will be eligible for the monthly pocket allowance of INR 250 and also the refund of License Fee and Dining Charges at actuals and as per the eligibility.
Other Scholarships:
Apart from the Scholarships offered by the Institute, IIT Hyderabad also gives several scholarship schemes offered by various States & Central Governments. These scholarships can be availed by visiting the National Scholarship Portal and also, the students can check the NSP for detailed information for each scholarship. - The studies at IITH are really good when compared to many colleges outside in the country. And the curriculum is flexible for students of there won interest to learn other courses than of their particular branch.
- The Hostels are really good especially the single rooms which are given form the second year are really super. And the wash rooms are also good.
Dislikes
- Almost 80 to 90 % of the construction is completed, in the remaining 10 to 20% is left.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Tuition fee is set by the central government and it is same for all the IIT's and it will be constant in the coming years too. The complete cost of the education for an year will be around 3,04,119.50 /- there will many scholarships available to the eligible students.
Likes
- Firstly coming to infrastructure advanced Japan technology is inbuilt in every building, Radiant cooling facilities, modern architecture, especially library was simply superb,
- Healthy campus environment. 24×7 security services throughout the campus and medical services. Medicines and doctor consultation are budget friendly
Dislikes
- Some courses need more credits. More time need to be spent on important topics such as DSA etc. Programming languages need to be taught.
- Fests are not upto mark as it is one of high rated campus fest should also be in that range but it was not as expected.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The course fee is 1 lakh but there is a fee waiver for students having reservations based on IT returns. If total income is below 1 lakh is returned for ews and obc students. 1-5 lakhs 66.67% is returned. For minority students, there is no tuition fee. Some scholarships from buddy4study, other iits, etc. will be informed immediately to students. Some people get internships near lecturers as teaching assistants or projects. Provides placement drives by bringing various companies. Mess fees are reasonable as they provide various varieties. Other fees include hostel fees, transportation, medical fees, etc.

- Thirdly, most of the professors are quite friendly and approachable. The club culture is good in the campus especially the cultural clubs are very active. And the most beautiful thing I found was that our seniors were friendly including the Mtechs.

As per my knowledge the fees has been same since the last 3-4 years. The complete cost of education for the 4 years will be around 120k INR. Scholarships are usually for the reserved students and females , not for the general boys. So for reserved candidates there are lot of opportunities for scholarships.

- The infrastructure is awesome. There are many academic blocks,labs,etc..
- The sports complex is very nice. It has rooms for billiards, chess, Carroms and big halls for volleyball courts, badminton courts, basketball, scating,etc.
Dislikes
- There are many labs . But as I am student from artificial intelligence dept., we won't have any lab sessions in our curriculum.
- The hygiene conditions at the canteen will be very poor.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
At present the tuition fees is 2 lakhs per year. And if the annual income of a student is below 1 lakh , they no need to pay the tuition fees. If the annual income is between 1-5 lakhs , only 1/3 of tuition fees should be paid by the student. We can work under the professors and we will get the stipend from them.

- One downside was the campus's distance from the city, which sometimes made it challenging to access amenities
- While faculty members were knowledgeable, some were overly strict, which could occasionally create a stressful learning environment.

It is 300000 for an year.Tution fees is 1 lakh per sem.Mess fee is 10k.I dont have any reservations.They will not increase fees mostly.For the EWS candidates tution fees 1 Lakh is made not necessary .

- Sports avalability - seaprate sports complex , trained persons to help and seniors who would encourage is the best thing
- Fractal system - having to be in touch with subjects all the time is very good and not having burden all of a sudden
Dislikes
- okay so having single room is fin until you get depressed , feeling alone
- If you have no friends, almost everyone is so into themselves they almost dont care about other person
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Tuition fee- 3,00,000 each year, it doesnt change much, since IITH is still under construction if the construction is completely fee may decrease also, scholarships can be many there is institute scholarship ,and you could apply online - like Feabce excellence charpak scholarship in the structure - including mess and hostel fees it would be around 31,000 rupees, i know its a bit too much for middle class - but its worth it , we could take advantages of may things Campus employment- in Btech, you're pretty good in a course/subject you can apply for TA position(teacher assisstant) and could get some stipend of 500 rupees or something, and you can individually consult professors and you could make websites for their portofolio and can get stipend up to 10,000 rupees, and there is research centre here so you can do on your interested area, and you could do work for fests.

- I like the most is that timtable is very less here. so that it reduces pressure on student.
Dislikes
- There will be exams in one week continuously and other week will be free
- There is only one canteen for entire campus that to small

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The tuition fee was never increased, although out institute attempted to increase the bus fee by 5000 which resulted in students protesting against it. Although the institute didnt increase thee they reduced the number of buses. The complete cost of my education is 13,60,000. In this sum, The tuition fee for 4 years is 12 lakh, Hostel fee is 60,000, Mess fee is 60,000, Rest are other charges. There are various scholarships availble to students, caste based scholarships and Female Welfare scholaraships which the economically poor people can attain. There are some additional bonus scholarships such as Merit Scholarship: 1000rs per month SC/ST : 250rs per month I haven't taken any campus employments

Dislikes
- I dislike Many uninteresting course that our department contain.
- Many clubs are dead . They only do some things in whole year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
So , fees is decided in two parts one is Tution fee another is hostel fees . Hostel and mess fees is about 45000-50000 per semester and tution fees is 100000 per semester. Also in all Iit and Nits you get Full tution fees remission below 1 lack income and 2/3rd if you family income is between 1 to 5 lacs. Also there are many scholarship opportunities available.
