Hostels have a unique radiant cooling facility which is very useful during summer. For every floor, there will be 4 pods and 8 rooms per pod. For every pod seperate washrooms. For every floor, there will be a washing machine and water dispenser. Every day there will be cleaning services and for every hostel there will be security. There is no intime for a hostel. Only one student per room. One hostel has 2 per room. Each room has a table, bed, fan, lights, cup board etc. There are 2 mess for whole campus we have to register at the end of the month for any one mess. The meal quality is very good especially morning there will variety kinds and healthy meals these include eggs, sprouts, bananas, bread, etc Registration is done only in the first year later if we want to change room we can ask in the hostel office. If we are sick food is supplied by security to our room of we inform them. There will be ambulance, bus service in campus

Single rooms are provided for all the students, except a single hostel named as Ramanuja. RCS is present to cool the rooms during summer days . Discussion on the mess food is debatable, most of us have an issue with mess food. Some days its good but most of the time the mess food especially lunch is quite pathetic. Breakfast is good providing every portion of nutrients. Dinner is also good comparatively. For day scholars, you have to stay either in Sangareddy town which is 6-7 kms from the campus or Hyderabad City which is 50-60 kms from the campus.

There is radiant cooling system in hostel blocks so that, every room will be cool even in the noon of summer. There are 2 messes(each with 1 storeyed) in this college.

First-year students in IITH are generally allotted double-sharing rooms. after the end of the first year, they are shifted to single-sharing rooms. In hostel rooms, a cot, table, chair, and cupboard are provided to every student with proper ventilation. Radiant cooling is provided during hot summer to maintain the temperature of the rooms. In IITH, there a 2 messes, the old and the new mess. The menu in both the messes is the same but the caterers differ. Fixed menu is decided according to the day. The taste and the quality of food in the mess is good. There is also a canteen in IITH which operates till 3 am. BTech students must live in a hostel rather than renting a room outside the campus. Hostel fees and mess fees are generally paid during the allocation of the course in the beginning.

Hostels are alloted to us on the day of reporting to college itself. Hostel facilities are quite good. Mess food is not bad here. Hostel fee nearly sums upto Rs.1,00,000 per year nearly. We can buy some extra items in mess other than the menu. Menu is designed on such a way that the foods of many regions are provided. Quality of food and cleanliness of mess is maintained neatly. You will like mess food here if you don't regularly eat in rastaurants.

IIT Hyderabad offers a variety of hostel facilities for its students. The hostels are well-maintained and equipped with all necessary facilities such as furniture, internet access, and 24-hour security.
Overall, the hostel facilities at IT Hyderabad are considered to be of high quality and are well-suited to the needs of students.
IIT Hyderabad has separate accommodation facilities for girls and boys through the facilities and infrastructure of both hostels’ are somewhat similar. Boys are not allowed to enter the girls' hostel.
IIT Hyderabad Hostel
Kandi campus of IIT Hyderabad has beautifully designed hostel buildings designed with unique infrastructure. IIT Hyderabad (new campus) provides single-seater rooms for all students. Girls are usually allocated to the new campus. Each hostel block has seven floors, with no rooms on the ground floor, and rooms on 6 floors only. Each floor has 32 rooms. So approximately, 192 students live in one block.
Some key highlights of the hostel are
All in all, IIT Hyderabad has excellent accommodation facilities for both girls and boys.
No, there aren’t ACs in IIT Hyderabad. Instead, there is a Radiant Cooling system that is equally good. In this cooling system, the walls and ceiling of the hostels have hidden pipes that have cold water running through them. The temperature of the water is controlled depending on the season and outside temperature. This system keeps the hostel rooms warm in winter and cool in summer.
To ensure judicious usage of water, recycled water from the rest of the campus is used in the radiant cooling systems. IIT Hyderabad takes water conversation very seriously and implements steps for the same.
There are many uncommon things people often forget to pack. Here are a few things to bring along with you to the IIT Hyderabad hostel.
Other essential commodities can be easily bought from the local market at cheap prices.
IIT Hyderabad has two accommodation options. Every student is allotted a single room irrespective of their year. Students are allotted double occupancy rooms.
Here is how these accommodation options are assigned to students of various courses
It’s important to note that this pattern of allotment is not fixed but is usually observed.
Yes, IIT Hyderabad hostel rules permit local students to go home after classes on Saturday and come back on Monday. However, in my opinion, I don’t think this is a good practice as you will be missing out on a major part of your IIT experience.
In reality, it’s the hostel life at IIT that shapes your personality and helps you grow as a person. Only academics cannot help you shape your career. Despite the mediocre hostel facilities, IITians always miss the incredible college life they lived. During weekends students look forward to many activities including interactions with their batchmates and seniors. While some may deem it as unimportant, trust me it’s the most important part of an IITian. The lessons you will learn from your seniors will help you go a long way in your life.
