Course Curriculum Overview :

Choosing GIM's PGDM was a strategic move for me. The curriculum is dynamic, constantly evolving to reflect current business trends. Core courses in finance, marketing, and strategy provide a strong foundation, while electives let you specialize in areas like analytics, entrepreneurship, or sustainability. Plus, the faculty-student ratio of around 1:15 ensures personalized attention. Professors are industry veterans and academic thought leaders, bringing real-world expertise to the classroom. Their diverse qualifications – doctorates from top global universities, industry experience with MNCs and startups – enrich the learning experience. Teaching methods are interactive, with case studies, simulations, and guest lectures keeping things engaging. Term exams were generally on schedule, with a two-week window for preparation. Difficulty varies depending on the course and professor, but thorough preparation and utilizing faculty guidance ensured I passed comfortably.

Internships Opportunities :

GIM throws open doors to diverse internship opportunities! My batch saw stints at companies like Deloitte, ITC, Amazon, and startups in exciting roles like Marketing Intern, Business Analyst, and Project Manager Remember, your major, network, and proactiveness play a crucial role in securing the internship you desire. GIM's career services team provides excellent guidance and support throughout the process!

Fees and Financial Aid :

The total PGDM cost can range from 18.3 lakhs to 20.3 lakhs depending on hostel choices. While it might seem steep, GIM offers generous scholarships like the ACCESS award (5 lakhs) for merit and diverse backgrounds. Plus, there's a tuition fee waiver for families earning below 8 lakhs annually. I landed the GIM Merit Scholarship myself! Financial assistance through education loans is readily available, and on-campus jobs like library assistant offer stipends to ease the burden. I worked as a research assistant, gaining valuable experience while contributing to faculty research. Remember, the investment in GIM goes beyond fees. The network, skills, and career prospects make it well worth it!

Campus Life :

Campus life at GIM is vibrant and enriching! The annual cultural fest, Aarambh, and techno-management fest, Inception, held in February and March respectively, are buzzing with events, competitions, and celebrity shows. The Dr. Antonio Xavier de Almeida Library boasts a vast collection of books, journals, and online resources, catering to all your academic needs. Classrooms are well-equipped with modern technology and comfortable seating. Sports facilities like football fields, basketball courts, and a swimming pool cater to the fitness enthusiasts. Extracurricular activities range from dramatics and music clubs to adventure clubs and environmental initiatives. The student-run website, The GIM Chronicle, keeps the campus community informed and engaged

Hostel Facilities :

GIM boasts 9 well-maintained hostels, housing over 800 students. First-year students typically share double occupancy rooms, while seniors get single rooms. Each room comes equipped with a study table, chair, bed, wardrobe, and internet access. The common areas have laundry facilities, TVs, and recreational spaces.

Admission :

Go to college website for all information needed. No reservations. Application fees is high Application form is easy to fill up and there is shortlist and directly later you submit a Written aptitude test online. Then final interview

Interview Experience :

Absolutely! GIM's admission process has three stages: Application & Shortlisting: Based on your academic scores, entrance exam results (XAT/CAT/GMAT), and work experience (if any), you'll be shortlisted for the next round. Written Aptitude Test (WAT): I encountered a WAT on a current business scenario. It assessed your communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. Preparation through mock WAT and staying updated on current affairs helped me excel. Personal Interview (PI): My PI delved deeper into my motivations, career goals, and understanding of GIM's program. Be prepared to discuss your academic background, strengths, and why GIM is your ideal choice.

Placement Experience:

The placement record has been 100% for years now. The SIP process begins in the first year and final placement process starts in the early-middle of second year. The highest package went upto 55 Lacs last year, lowest was around 12 Lacs. I plan to take direct placement from the college and start my corporate career.

It is one of the best colleges in Tier 2 colleges. But being a tier 2 college also some cons. Study and analyse every aspect of a college before deciding on anything.

Goa institute of Management is one of the top MBA college of the country which has great faculty, placements, infrastructure, opportunities to explore and get ready to enter the corporate life. the only concern is the ROI because the fees is high but it is not relevant when we compare it with the quality and future life of the students.

Remarks:

Goa university department of management and studies is very good college for the student who was polish there knowledge through help of faculties who are expertise in there own field. It definitely help to grain more knowledge and improvements of skill but only major thing issue is of placement. There has been not proper placement over the years which should be given priority and introduction of new companies for placement should be brought. Also campus should be focused more and should be improve to some extent.
