Campus Life

5

My experience with campus life at GCM has been nothing short of enriching and vibrant. The college offers a blanched environment that fosters both academic excellence and personal growth, with ample opportunities for social interactions, extracurricular activities and intellectual engagement. GCM fest annual cultural and management fest. library and research resources the library offers access to numerous databases like EBSCO,JSTOR and other academic portals. Study rooms there are dedicated spaces within the library where students can engage in group discussion, quiet study, or review sessions. Classroom facilities and technology they provide smarboards and projectors for sameless presentations and and interactive sessions. Sports and extracurricular activities are: Sports facilities the college has facilities for football, basketball, cricket and table tennis. The student run clubs and events are central of GCM's campus culture. They not only help develop leadership and teamwork skills But also provide an avenue for students to express themselves outside of academics.

Admission

I chose this college because this college stood out to me due to its academic rigor, location and overall reputation in the field of management education. While I applied to a few other colleges like XIMB,NMIMS, and KJ Somaiya, GCM offered a unique combination of a strong academic foundation. I applied for several colleges which includes: XIMB, NMIMS,KJ SOMAIYA Yes I get a rejection from other colleges I was unfortunately not shortlisted by IIMs and a few other top-tier B-schools.my CAT scores were solid, but I think my profile wasn't strong in terms of work experience, which is a significant parameter for these institutes. The admission process of my college is eligibility for admission to the MBA program in GCM, candidate need to a bachelor's degree from recognized University.

Faculty

5

The faculty of student ration in my college they have fewer students to manage and can give more attention to individual needs. I like the classroom and lacture halls faculties the are well-equipped,spacious classrooms with modern teaching aids, including projectors and audio visual systems to facilitate effective learning .The best faculties are library, computer lab, cafeteria.

Interview Experience

5

In group discussion I had topics on current affairs(eg,"impact of social media on youth," " climate change and it's effects") Abstract topics eg, " the glass is half full or half empty". Interview questions are: Tell me about yourself Why do you want to join this institution What are your strengths and weaknesses Test pattern as follows Aptitude and reasoning Verbal ability General knowledge and current affairs . Cuming to admission process and criteria as follows: Academic performance Performance in entrance exams Results from the GD, interview and written test I prepare for GDs and interviews I would practice my communication skills by engaging in mock sessions with peers and mentors.

Night Life

5

The nightlife of my college is relatively relaxed compared to major metropolitan cities, but it's full of charm and offers plenty of opportunities to unwind after a day of classes. Gym: the gym on campus is open until around 8:00PM,so students can usually hit the gym post-classes or late in the evening. Cafeteria:The campus cafeteria generally closes by 8:00PM. Library: The library usually closes by 9:00 PM, and through it's primarily used for academic purposes, it's also a peaceful spot for students who prefer quiet time to read or study. Public areas most public spaces on campus, such as the student lounge and common areas, generally remain open throughout the day until late in the evening, through they are less crowded after 10:00 PM. Hostel timings the hostels have fairly strict entry timings, usually with curfew hours around 10:30 PM for girls and around 11:00 PM for boys. Hangout places inside the college are cafeteria, common lounge areas,The garden area.Outside campus panaji

In the first year, students are eligible for summer internship placements from the first term onwards. Decent number of companies visit the campus and offer roles across various domains. The placement committee provides good placement support.

Placement Experience:

The placement record has been 100% for years now. The SIP process begins in the first year and final placement process starts in the early-middle of second year. The highest package went upto 55 Lacs last year, lowest was around 12 Lacs. I plan to take direct placement from the college and start my corporate career.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very good and faculties are also very qualified. I choose BDA because of its value in the market and my interest area. BDA of GIM is even beating it's flagship course in terms of placements. But the thing is you have to come prepared before coming to B-School. In term-1, there will be basic subjects only but companies coming for summer internship will expect more from you. So, my advice would be to invest the time students get in between admission in B-School and joining the B-School in improving their skills sets.

Goa university department of management and studies is very good college for the student who was polish there knowledge through help of faculties who are expertise in there own field. It definitely help to grain more knowledge and improvements of skill but only major thing issue is of placement. There has been not proper placement over the years which should be given priority and introduction of new companies for placement should be brought. Also campus should be focused more and should be improve to some extent.
