Dr. Anuradha Jain is the Principal of the Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies. She is a staunch academician whose resume boasts of the perfect blend of interest in curricular and co-curricular activities. Dr. Jain is a scholar from the University of Bombay and has been serving in the teaching community for over 24 years.
A fanatical economist, her areas of interest are in International Trade and International Business. An expert in Assessment and Accreditation she has also been awarded Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar in 2016, Innovative Leader Award in 2017, and the Best Academician Award in 2018 for her contribution to society.
You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
Teaching has always been my profound passion. I am constantly driven by the belief that nurturing students is the greater good. Being able to contribute to quality education paves the way for a brighter future for our country. One of the key factors that has kept me connected with the education sector is my passion for teaching and learning. As an educator, I take immense pride in shaping the minds of the next generation and empowering them to make a positive impact in their communities. Another factor that has kept me connected with the education sector is my desire to stay abreast of the latest developments and innovation in the field. I am proud to have played a part in growth and development of my Institution and look forward to continuing to contribute in the years to come.
Being the Principal of VIPS College, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
As the Principal of VIPS my philosophy of leadership centers around creating a culture of academic excellence, fostering a sense of community among students and faculty.
My leadership style is to lead by example while also motivating them to achieve their best. To achieve these goals, I believe in an inclusive leadership approach, which entails working collaboratively with all members of the college community to identify and address key issues that affect the institution's success. We also prioritize transparency and communication, ensuring that our stakeholders are informed about our decisions and the rationale behind them.
What strategy do you employ for building an efficient work team?
Building and efficient work team is a crucial aspect of any organization. A cohesive team that works well together can achieve results far beyond those of individual members. It was team work due to which we got A++ in NAAC. Moreover, we try to set out clear roles and responsibilities for all stakeholders. It provides a framework for everyone to operate within. Trust and mutual respect are the wheels to keep the engine of our institution running along with a positive work environment. Effective communication channels should be set up to ensure that information flows freely between team members. Feedback should be given regularly. (Both positive and constructive).

What are your college's greatest strengths?
My college’s greatest strength is its supportive work culture which is nurtured by the management. The college never compromise with the quality. our biggest strength is our faculty members who always give their best. Our retention rate for the faculty is very high. The infrastructure of VIPS is incomparable. It’s the best place for learning.
What would you like people to know about your college that they do not know?
VIPS is a unique institution in Delhi which has promoted multidisciplinary education much before the New Education Policy came in vogue. Its an institution with the motto of “In pursuit of Perfection”. The mission of the institute is to create capable and ethical human being. VIPS is the only institution with NAAC A++ in GGSIP University.
We have various skill-based activities that give them technical exposure to their field. There are opportunities for students to enhance their leadership skills and building team spirit. It is because of this we can produce good results and best placements opportunities. We have more than 60 students working in the judiciary now while others are studying in universities like the London School of Economics.
What should be the college's top priority over the next 10 years?
The top priority for VIPS would be to introduce more and more skill enhancement courses. We are making our students technically skilled so that they get the best employment opportunities in the industry. Our focus is to start more interdisciplinary courses according to the demand of the industry. In the next decade, colleges have the responsibility to adapt to the changing landscape of higher education by prioritizing research and innovation. There is a plethora of challenges that lie ahead, ranging from demographic shifts to technological advancements.

Any advice you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?
To all current youth and aspiring students, I would like to share some advice regarding their academic endeavors. As students, it is vital to constantly challenge themselves and strive for excellence in all their pursuits. They should always push themselves to go beyond the limits and explore new avenues that might be unknown to them.Additionally, time management and discipline are crucial skills that they should work on. Plan out time carefully, prioritize important tasks, and avoid procrastination. Moreover, remember to take care of yourself physically and mentally. Your well-being should never be compromised as it can have a significant impact on your academic performance. Lastly, remember that your education is not just limited to the classroom. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn and pursue your interests outside of school/college. Engage in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, internships, and networking events.
