Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies provides regular trips to actual courts for law students to make them aware of the practical / on spot scenario. My unbiased review of VIPS

Likes

Campus is good , i like the gardens are canteen seating area.
Faculty is very good , very cooperative and helpful
Canteen food is decent for its price . Area is big as well

Dislikes

Hate the management.I guess its bad for bca only but yeah
Badminton court is bad , its very small and congusted .

Placement scenario and packages being offered

6th semester in bca you can get the placements, not before that. Number of companies like tcs is high as they take a lot of students in bunch. Offers are average like 3lakh per annum, highest i saw for bca was 6.6lakh per annum that too a couple of years ago I dont know the percentage of students getting placements. My plan is to go for MCA.

Internship opportunities through campus in various organizations

If you are in the ACE club which is a tech club , they have contacts and they get you internships under companies . I am not in the club so i cant give much details. I am going to give it a 6 because it is not available for all the students but only the club members

College events, various clubs and facilities available in campus

Lot of fests and events are there along with lot of societies , There is tech , dance , music , literary , sports etc clubs All fests are in the campus only , some are paid , most of them are free with no ticket . Like diwali , holi , ethnic days , freshers party, concerts(where big artists come), tedx etc etc. Facilities in the classroom is fantastic, good seating with good desks and space, amazing windows view with AC. Projector is decent as well

Fees associated with the course and scholarships being available in campus

Yearly fee is 118000 for BCA . You have to pay a little extra if you took the management quota . You get a portion of your fees back if you are from sc/st . (you have to provide them few documents and fill out a simple form) I dont know other courses fees but it is available in the vips brochure

Course compatibility and examination pattern

I had to choose this as i wanted to do something in computer and i didnt have science so i was not able to go for btech. You have to work on yourself , this cirriculum cant get you a real life job. Area of improvement for the course should be to teach what a company wants , not 20years old syllabus which outdated and not relevant . Exams are easy to pass as it is 40/60 system. 40 for internal in which teachers give minimum 30 to all . and 60 for external which we have to give in different college. and to pass we only need 40/100 in total.

Faculties, their bond with students and examination pattern

Faculty-student ratio is good as we have multiple teachers for the same subject. If you take the initiative to go and talk, teacher are very helpful and cooperative. Iti Goel (web) and gunjan maam(maths) are my favourite . I dont know I just like them, their way of teaching is very nice. Some teachers are strict but none of them is bad by any means , all the teachers are good. Exams are twice (internals) and once externals in end of semester .People rarely fail as exams are easy. In todays time the course curriculum is outdated

Admission process and eligibility criteria

I only applied for IP university as i didnt have science or maths . I had commerce with computer and IP was one of the only good university which had this eligibility . I had to give CET exam for this university . Syllabus was maths , computer , gk and english . I got around 900 rank. But if you avoid negative marking you can easily get a good rank . There are 3 counseling rounds, after your college is alloted just go to college and show the documents and pay the fees.

VIPS Delhi is a VIP College!!

VIPS Delhi has the latest infrastructure as the college might be old but our infrastructure is latest.
Law building of our college is envied by almost all the law colleges of Delhi.
Our huge moot court hall can accomodate 600 students at a time.

Dislikes

Too much crowded as we aren't just a law college and still law itself has over 2000 students.

Admission:

NLU Delhi as I never wanted to go far from Delhi because my parents are lawyers and so intenrship anyways I will be doing with them. Also, after I got rejected from there I made it a point that I will study hard and do something at VIPS as VIPS admission were based on IPU Entrance and I did quite well there.

A very beautiful basketball court to unwind after the college.
A great canteen to fill up us during breaks.

Campus is small in comparison to MAIMS and other private colleges.

Admission:

IPU Entrance score and CLAT entrance both are taken into banks as any score within required cut-offs are considered. Even walk in option is available or through site is also not a bad option for outsiders coming and taking admission in our college.

The campus of the college is very beautiful and vibrant classes are very nice with digital facilities and everything good college needs
The college has very good parties, including the faculties from IIM and many other good colleges

Dislikes

The department is a little bit small, but it is appropriate for around 180 students, which is the strength of the total batch in a year
Otherwise, everything is good in the college. Nothing is bad as such you can get the best output from the college if you work hard maintain your pace

It's around 200 students and every college Strength is around 300 to 400. Which will gradually decrease the placement so that is why I chose Delhi School Of Business because it is value for money, you get what you invest. I submitted applications to Amity University, Lloyd Law College and Galgotias University. Although I got accepted to Amity and Lloyd, I decided to attend Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies - Technical Campus (VIPS-TC) because it provided best facilities, helpful teachers and was located close by. One of the greatest campus facilities at VIPS includes well-kept buildings, cutting-edge classrooms, classrooms turned into halls for moot court, libraries and AC-equipped areas. Because I was just waitlisted at government colleges due to different cutoffs, I decided on VIPS The process for being admitted at VIPS-TC is easy. Boys and Girls Basketball at Law and Business accepts CLAT scores. Each year, the cutoff is set and it continues to be tough. After finishing centralized counseling with GGSIPU, students gain admission to colleges in order of their rank and chosen preferences.

Admission:

I gave Clat exam in ehich i didn't score a great rank due to which i become inelligible for NLUs. After that i applied for SLAT and IPU. I got symbiosis noida but since i became elligible gor Vips, i choose it. As it is in delhi so it will provide location advantage. I heard that the faculty is great over here and i felt the same. The process of admission over here is that one needs to give clat exam and fill ipu form. After that based on cut off one will get admission. Although 80% of seats are reserved for delhi student.

I did apply to various colleges. As a Law Student, I did give CLAT examination. However, I did not get enough marks for me to secure an NLU. I also applied to several other colleges such as Lloyd college (Noida), Amity Law College (Noida). I also appeared for MHCET which I cleared with an amazing percentile of 99.27. I did get a green light from various colleges. Nonetheless, I chose VIPS because of its locational advantages. The college is situated in Pitampura, Delhi. It is at a walking distance from Rohini Court and also is surrounded with variety of Law firms and independent advocates. The college gives us a benefit of securing internships at variety of law firms nearby. I did apply to Christ University as well (Delhi-NCR). However, I could not clear the Interview Round there. Our college takes admission through the CLAT exmaination. One needs to secure a rank between somewhere around 6000-7000 to secure a seat. Also, the college provides a reservation for Management Quota. There is also a separate quotas for Delhi students and outside Delhi students.

The college infrastructure is very decent.
The crowd of VIPS is v. good and there are also many societies conducting events regularly

I chose VIPS because of the alumni network as other colleges do not provide with such big connection the admission process is simple . we have to just register with the IPU portal and there are 3 rounds and you will get allocated to the college according to your rank in CLAT

VIPS: An Overview

Likes

VIPS have a good infrastructure consisting of 3 buildings and a big canteen in between. Students can also relax as the campus have 2 big grounds with full of flowers.
The ratio of girls to boys is 55:45. Both girls and boys in this college comes from good families and have a believe that they have to work hard to achieve their goals.

Dislikes

The thing I disliked is that the lecture hours are too long sometimes.

Admission:

So, I made a very easy path for me. I chose to be rational while applying to colleges. I took every single aspect into consideration before applying anywhere, hence I applied to NLU's and 2-3 more colleges other than VIPS. Deep down I only wanted VIPS as my college. The level of activeness VIPS shows in every activity, event or opportunity is commendable.

The canteen has various outlets at more than afordable prices so that no one needs to think much before considering canteen
The infrastructure is really really amazing , we are provided with the best labs , intrenet connection along with well maintained classrooms.

Dislikes

It is far from metro station so it becomes very inconvenient sometimes

Admission:

I applied for Delhi University and some other colleges of IPU as well like that of Maharaja Surajmal . Although the Delhi University did not offer BCA so my main goal was a good college from IPU . In the first round I got JIMS, Rohini but then in my second round I got VIPS gratefully and I am very happy that I got this college as it is better in infrastructure , it offers higher placement opportunities andhas a good faculty. To get into my college you have to give IPU-CET entrance exam through which you will be alloted college on the basis of the marks you have scored in your entrance exam.

Candidates seeking admission to any of the courses offered by VIPS must apply through a common entrance exam conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University i.e. IPU-CET. The university allows only for online mode of application form submission.

Prospective candidates can apply online by visiting GGSIP University’s official website.
The online application form must be duly filled and scanned copies of all requisite documents such as passport size photo, signature etc. must be uploaded as indicated in the information brochure.
Upon successful submission of the application form, registration ID and password is generated for use in future references.
A sum of INR 1000 is to be paid as application fees on or before the last date. Payment can be done through BillDesk (payment gateway) using a credit/ debit card or internet banking.
Candidates who have successfully complete application submission and application fees payment are issued admit cards for use in CET exam-hall.
Seats are allotted during GGSIPU counselling based on marks/ rank secured by the candidate in IPU- CET.

VIPS offers full-time undergraduate level degree programs in the disciplines of Law, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Applications and Journalism and Mass Communication. Selection of candidates is done through GGSIPU counselling on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the candidate in respective IPU-CET. The basis eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is a pass in 10+2 with English as subject and minimum 50% marks.
