MHT CET 2025 Good Score

A Good MHT CET 2025 score depends on the candidate's preferred branch and college, specifically top institutes such as COEP, VJTI, SPIT, and ICT Mumbai.

More than 4.5 lakh candidates appeared for MHT CET 2025 in PCM and PCB groups, more than 140 out of 200 are likely to be competitive for top engineering colleges under Maharashtra CAP admissions.

  • Over 99 percentile will typically require a score of 160+, which is needed for Computer or IT streams at COEP Pune and VJTI Mumbai.
  • Students who secure 140–150 as their score generally fall in the 98–99.5 percentile and become eligible for top branches of ICT Mumbai, SPIT, and DJ Sanghvi.
  • A score of 120–139 puts students in the 95–98 percentile, in which they become eligible for colleges such as VIT Pune, PCCOE, and MIT-WPU in premier branches.
  • Those scoring less than 100 tend to struggle in obtaining government seats and would most likely obtain admission in tier-3 private colleges.
MHT CET Score Range Is It a Good Score? Admission Chances Example Colleges (Based on Previous Years)

How is MHT CET Score Calculated?

The MHT CET 2025 score is calculated from the candidate's correct answers provided in the test. The question paper consists of PCM (for Engineering) and PCB (for Pharmacy) groups, both having a different marking scheme, and there is no negative marking for MHT CET.

MHT CET Marking Scheme

Stream Subject No. of Questions Marks per Question Total Marks
PCM Physics 50 1 50
Chemistry 50 1 50
Mathematics 50 2 100
Total 150 200
PCB Physics 50 1 50
Chemistry 50 1 50
Biology 100 1 100
Total 200 200

MHT CET Score Calculation Formula

For Example:

MHT CET Score

In a PCM Exam, a candidate answers the following number of questions correctly:

  • Physics: 42 correct
  • Chemistry: 40 correct
  • Mathematics: 36 correct

Then,

Total Score=(42×1)+(40×1)+(36×2)=42+40+72=154 marks

MHT CET 2025 Marks Vs Rank

MHT CET 2025 Marks vs Rank gives the estimation of the expected rank for candidates based on the marks that they will get from the examination. Although the percentile score is released officially, ranks may be estimated from prior year cutoffs and trends.

  • 180+ scorers are commonly given a rank within the top 500, which is crucial for admission to ICT Mumbai, VJTI, and COEP in CS/IT branches.
  • The normalization process may result in difference in final rankings despite the same raw score across shifts.
  • A score of 120–139 is generally sufficient to get into the top private colleges such as MIT-WPU, VIT Pune, PCCOE, particularly in CAP Round 2.
