Attempt and Analyze Strategy for MHT CET Mock Test 2025
First of all, the purpose of mock tests should be clear. Mock Tests are a means to identify your weaker topics and mistakes so that you can work on them to improve your score in the real exam ultimately. You have to learn so well that you answer all the questions on those topics correctly without any mistakes.
Time Management
While analyzing a mock test, see where you spent your time, both on question and subject levels. For individual questions, look for the reasons for spending more time on them and check if they were correct. Similarly, learn to divide your time wisely between the exam sections. Ideally, you should not spend too much time.
Analyze why you spent more time answering some questions. Most probably, it would be your ego that arose and made you think you have read the topic well, so you would complete the question, no matter what. But this is a wrong approach, don’t take any question on your ego. There are some alerts that you should move to the next one.
- First Alert is when you read a question but don’t understand anything, or you start to solve it but cannot reach anywhere in more than a minute. In this scenario, you should skip the question and move on to the next.
- Second Alert is that you have an idea about the question, and you have already spent 3 minutes on solving it. In this case, too, please move on to the next question. Time Management can be assumed to be very normal, but in reality, it can do wonders if worked upon properly.
Round-wise Strategy
You don’t have to keep solving the questions serially but solve them using a roundwise strategy. You can use the 40-30-20 rule to implement the Roundwise strategy. There are 90 minutes in each section of MHT CET.
For the first 40 minutes, attempt to solve the easy and doable questions from the section. You have to identify the easy questions and solve them, leaving the difficult ones for later. Try to be within the time limit. For the next 30 minutes, attempt to solve the moderate questions you think can be solved. Now, in the last 20 minutes, attempt the hard questions, or you can work on some easier questions that might have needed more time. This strategy will ensure you leave no questions unattempted, which generally happens otherwise.
Analyze Mistakes
After attempting a mock test, you have to analyze your mistakes generally of three types: Silly, Conceptual, or Random Guess.
- For Silly mistakes, try to find and eliminate the reasons behind them. Some reasons for silly mistakes may be that your rough sheet got filled and turned the page. You might have made some calculation mistakes. Just try to eliminate the causes of silly mistakes.
- For Conceptual mistakes, you might have forgotten some concepts or made some errors. To overcome them, you should learn those topics well and practice their Topic Mock Tests.
- For Guesses, you need to analyze whether it was an educated or just a random guess. Guesses don’t always work, and everyone needs to analyze what works for them.
Learn to Handle Pressure
While sitting in the real exam, three factors determine your score: Time, Questions, and Pressure to perform well. We have talked about the first two. Now, let’s have a look at Exam Pressure.
So, in a real exam, there is pressure to perform well as it is the final attempt, and your mind thinks you can’t mess this up. This actually messes things up. But while attempting mock tests, there is no such pressure. So, your goal should be to attempt the mock tests under such real pressure. You should sit in a place where no one should disturb you, and you don’t get distracted. One more tip that most toppers use to compensate for the exam pressure is to try to attempt the mock test in less than the allotted time.
Accuracy
There is no negative marking in MHT CET, so you must attempt all the questions in real exams and mock tests, too. But when analyzing the mock tests, analyze your accuracy in the mock test. Ideally, your accuracy should be at least 85 to 90 percent for easy questions and around 70 percent for moderate questions. Without this accuracy, there is no guarantee that your answer will be correct. You can practice for accuracy using our Topic, Sectional, and Full Mock tests.

Subject wise Strategy
As we have provided the important chapters with the number of expected questions for every subject above, make sure to master them such that you leave no questions unanswered from them. They are must-do topics from each subject, which are easy and high-scoring.
Physics and Chemistry
- These two subjects are merged into one section of 90 minutes, with 50 questions for each. Hence, you have to solve 100 questions in 90 minutes. Here, you must decide how much time to spend on each question and subject.
- For Chemistry, the questions are generally straightforward and don’t require much calculation except for physical chemistry. So you can try to attempt Chemistry questions in 30-35 minutes. Here, you can also use the round-wise strategy to solve easier questions first and difficult ones later so you don’t miss out on any easy questions.
- Now, you would have around 60 minutes to solve the Physics questions, which generally involve calculations and formulas, resulting in more time requirements.
Mathematics
- Mathematics has a separate section of 90 minutes, in which you need to solve 50 questions.
- Here, to get a good score in Mathematics, make sure to cover questions from Must Do Chapters or your strong chapters before trying harder questions. This way you will fetch a good score, as you will cover most of the questions from these chapters only.
- Don’t leave any questions unanswered, as there is no negative marking, and keep key formulas and unit conversions at your fingertips to save time.
- If a question seems too complex, skip it and return later to ensure you don’t waste time and have steady progress.
Biology
- For students opting for PCB, instead of Mathematics, they have a Biology section of 90 minutes, but here, they have to solve 100 questions. Here, 50 questions are from Botany and Zoology each.
- To excel in Biology, you need to have a strong understanding of key concepts and terminologies and practice a lot of Subject and Topicwise MHT CET mock tests.
- Ensure that you divide your time properly for Botany and Zoology so that you do justice to both. You can also break it even further, like using a round-wise strategy in physics and chemistry.
Learn And Practice
There are two important phases while preaparing for an exam. These are Learning and Practice. You can use the above table to figure out important chapters. First, you need to learn the concepts and topics, and then you can use our Topic-wise MHT CET Mock Test 2025 to strengthen your learning. First, take 2 mins for planning, then move to Round 1, wherein you will solve the easy and doable questions first. After that, try the difficult questions that require more effort in Round 2. This strategy allows you to do enough questions to get an excellent score in the exam.
There are two factors which determine your score in the exam, that are Number of Attempts and Accuracy. Toppers recommend to not just attemot questions blindly, but keep these factors in mind. So, attempt the mock tests in such a way to increase your number of questions attempted with greater accuracy.
