CBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2023-24 Out, Check Latest Updates
CBSE class 10 exam pattern for the session 2023-24 has been released. CBSE has introduced some major changes in the class 10 exam pattern in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020.
As per NEP 2020, CBSE will increase the number of competency-based questions in class 10 exams. MCQ-type questions will also be included in CBSE Class 10 Exams 2024. There will be no open book examination in CBSE class 10th and 12th. Instead the board will pilot the OBE concept in selected schools of class 9 and 11.
As per the new CBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2024-25, the question paper will follow the below structure:
- Competency-based questions will constitute 50% of the total questions.
- The question paper will contain 20% MCQ-type questions.
- Short and long-answer type questions will constitute 30% of the question paper.
CBSE has also rolled back its two-term policy and shifted back to the annual examinations scheme. For the current session also, the board will conduct class 10 exams once based on complete CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2024-25. Each exam will be held for a total of 100 marks. Students have to score 33% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate to be declared pass.

CBSE Class 10 Question Paper Pattern 2024-25
CBSE class 10 question paper will be prepared based on the below pattern:

CBSE Class 10 Subject-Wise Exam Pattern 2024-25
In CBSE Class 10, each paper carries 100 marks including theory and internal assessments. The minimum marks required to pass in the examination is 33% in a subject as well as overall. Subject-wise division of marks are mentioned below.
Mathematics
- Mathematics theory paper will carry 80 marks and an internal assessment will be conducted worth 20 marks.
- The question paper will consist of 38 questions divided into sections.
