CBSE Class 10 Date Sheet 2024: CBSE is expected to release date sheets for class 10 by December, 2024. The first main subject paper for CBSE Class 10 will be held on February 15. You will get around 3-4 preparatory days between any two papers. 

CBSE will concluded the practical exams of class 10 in the first week of February 2025. CBSE will provide the chance to schools to conduct practical, internal assessment, and upload marks by March, 2025. 

  • Each exam in CBSE board will be conducted for three hours in a single shift. The exam timings are from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • You must reach your respective exam centers by 10 AM. At the exam center, you have to show your CBSE Class 10 Admit Card with your photo pasted on it. Without a hard copy of the admit card, no student will be allowed to enter the exam center.

As per the NCF released by the Education Ministry, all boards shall conduct board exams twice a year. However, for the current session, CBSE board exams will be held only once. 

From the year 2025 onwards, there will be board exams for class 10 twice a year. Students can opt to choose their best scores out of the two exams for the final result.

CBSE Class 10 Practical Exam Dates 2025

CBSE class 10 practical exams will be conducted in January 2025. The practical exams will be conducted in the respective schools only. 

  • As per the latest CBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2024-25, out of the total 100 marks, 30 marks are allotted to the practical examinations. 
  • Marks in the practical exams will be given based on the overall performance in experiments, VIVA, and practical files.

CBSE Class 10 Practical Exam Guidelines

The following are the guidelines to be followed by schools and students for the practical examinations:

  • Schools are required to collect sufficient number of practical answer books before the practical exams begin.
  • The dates, batches, timings, and other important details for the practical exams must be informed to students and parents by the respective schools. 
  • Students must appear for the practical exam of a subject only on the specified date and as per the batch allotted to them by the schools. No student can take the practical exam on any other day or with another batch.
  • CBSE will appoint the external examiner for the practical exams. Schools are not allowed to make any alternate arrangements.
  • Schools must contact the allotted external examiner timely and should make all the required arrangements for the conduct of practical exams.
  • The examiners shall upload practical/internal assessment marks on the same day after the practical exam concludes.  
  • Schools, internal examiners, and external examiners are directed to upload the practical marks correctly. Once the marks are uploaded, no further changes will be allowed in the marks. 
  • The practical exams in the respective schools must be completed within the specified dates only. No extension of dates will be allowed. 
  • If there is any misconduct during the practical exams, or guidelines are not properly followed, CBSE reserves the right to cancel the practical exam in that school. 

CBSE Class 10 Practical Exams for Winter-Bound Schools

CBSE to conducted the practical exams for winter-bound schools from November to December, 2024 (tentative). Winter-bound schools remain closed in January due to cold weather conditions, therefore, their practical exams are scheduled separately from the regular session schools. 

The official notice for winter-bound schools is available on the official website. As per the official notice, schools must ensure to complete the practical exams within the provided timeline. 

  • They must contact the regional office for appointment of external examiners and observers.
  • They must start uploading marks of practical/internal assessment at the Pariksha Sangam portal from the date of commencement of the practical exam. The uploading of marks shall be completed by the last day of the practical exam. (Source: cbse.gov.in)

CBSE has also stated that students whose names are not included in the LOC submitted by the school cannot appear for practical exams.

Step 1: Go to the official website of CBSE Board – cbse.gov.in.

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Main Website’ tab.

Step 3: On the home page, scroll down to the ‘Latest@CBSE’ section.

Step 4: Click on the notification for ‘Circular and Date Sheet for Main Exam – 2025 for Class X & XII’.

Step 5: CBSE Class 10 Date Sheet 2025 will appear on the screen.

CBSE Class 10 Exam Timings

Students should strictly adhere to the exam timings mentioned in the date sheet. 

  • Students should reach the exam center at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the exams.

  • The answer sheets will be distributed to the students at least 30 minutes before the writing time.
  • Students without the CBSE class 10 admit card will not be permitted inside the examination hall.
