The course curriculum and faculty members are well qualified and the syllabus for the Electronics and communication branch is up to date. Professors are very helpful they always try their best. As I am from Electronics and communication branch I can tell you about this branch only.
I was always interested in electronics and semiconductors and SMIT is one of the best engineering institutes in the northeastern part of India it has excellent infrastructure including the library and the sports complex. There are around 20-30 faculty members and around 50 students in the electronics and communication branch. Most of the professors are Mtech or PhD holders.
I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering. It has one of the broadest opportunities and learning experiences in the technology and engineering sector. My interests in Communications and devices also played a major role. Every 8 to 6 students are assigned with a Teacher Guardian in our department. The Qualifications of the faculties are very high and excellent. In our department, the teacher-student relationship has been a very enriching experience. They have taught practically, lab-based as well as necessity course curriculum. There were two sessional exams and semester final exams along with lab exams and quizzes and assignments. The exams were very good as one had to study in order to pass.
I am a student of ECE, Engineering. ECE is one of the most challenging subjects and what is life without electronics. Today the world revolves around electronics devices, types of equipment for communication like transmitter, antennas, etc. ECE also deals with the designing and maintenance of satellites, nanotechnology, and other processors. SMIT faculty are both knowledgeable and kind. They are highly qualified Ph.D. scholars with top-notch teaching quality. Class timings are from 9 AM TO 5 PM, including lab timings which are of 3 hours. To earn a degree every student has to earn the required number of credit scores. Exam pattern is divided into 2 parts internals and externals. Internals are conducted in two phases computing 50 marks and externals of 50 marks.
Electronics and Communication is a booming industry and a very interesting one. Being a 90’s kid having witnessed the revolution of electronics and communication, this particular course interested me the most. The ECE faculty is very professional as well as helpful not just in terms of education but also the overall well being of the students. Three years in this department, I’ve come across every faculty member and whether they’ve taught me or not, we all shared a family like bond. My HoD, Dr Bera was one of the most interesting individuals I’ve ever come across. He was so fascinated with 5G research and IoT that it actually helped me a lot in my masters. He gave us extra classes and knowledge which was outside the courses and that was really nice of him. The exams are difficult. There is no denying it but the difficulty and the easy questions are well prepared. Anyone can score at least 5 but it requires a lot of hard work and study to achieve very good Marks
I chose Electronics and Communication because the course was a merge between computers and electronics thus providing the opportunity to study both. There are about 38 students for 1 teacher, which is a very good ratio. The teachers are highly qualified with MTechs and Phd's from reputed colleges. The teaching quality is great and is based on critical thinking. Doubt solving and doubt clearing sessions are always conducted and teachers encourage students to ask questions. The curriculum is constantly being updated with the latest standards to make the student's industry-ready.
The faculty are highly qualified and hold doctorate degrees . They help and guide students in projects and any other problems.
My faculties are cooperative. My course helps me to be at par with the recent trends of the market.Seminars webinars and presentations placement sessions are also organized by our college.
it's was up to the mark.yes enough industrial exposure.faculties were just awesome.arun kumar singh and sanat das the best faculty 2 unit exam and 2 quiz exams and one final paper maximum holidays a good placement record help to prepare for gate
The fee structure of SMIT is done either in lumpsum or in installments. The overall fees is 2 lakh 40 thousand excluding mess and hostel accommodation and 3 lakh 55 thousand including mess and hostel accommodation. This is for the ECE, Mechanical and Civil branches, the other branches have approximately the same figure.
