- There is an appreciative gender ratio in the college which will be approx 2:5. There is always an equality maintained between the gender and no gender is given an upper hand or extra opportunity.
- The quality of social life is engaging and it is fun to be in the campus where you can involve in various clubs, workshop, events etc .You are always most welcomed here to shocase your talent and grow your personality in things apart from academics
Dislikes
- The placement services are decent but not that good and you would have to really work hard to get a decent package .
- Since the institute is situated between the mountains it is disadvantageous also in the aspect of connectivity and transportation
Admission:
The other colleges that I applied for were SRM , VIT , MANIPAL JAIPUR. Though I got selected in all of them still I chose smit over all of them because of the Location and Environment: SMIT is located in Sikkim. What SMIT had going for it was a very peaceful environment amidst nature. I had always been more comfortable in a campus that was serene as compared to VIT or SRM, which were located in busy urban cities. Affordability: The overall fee structure at SMIT was highly affordable when compared with others .This was a primary decision-making point as the overall cost of living and studying there was much more feasible. Repute for Engineering: SMIT has some excellent reputations for Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering, which aligned with my career goals. Smaller Campus Size: I like the small campus for a closer relationship between students and faculty, unlike a huge student body like VIT's, which might detest the delivery of focused personalized attention.

- Great weather and nature scenaries covered around hills.
- Nice if u want to enjoy nature and go for trekking and hiking.
Dislikes
- Some faculty are good and some are straight up bad.
- Examination are hard and competitive for an engineering College.
Admission:
I applied for various colleges such as VIT and KIIT but selected SMIT because of weather, near to my hometown, and great campus with a peaceful environment. I made to VIT and KIIT but due toouch crowd, I rejected the offer. Admission process is easy , there is MET Test to clear and that's it. The cutoff is easy to clear.

- Collage is Situated in a very beautifl location . its very peaceful and very beautiful , Teachers are Quite nice and are helping us with our studies out of their designates time .
- Not in a good or bad way campus of more of a more traditional style of providing noted like note books and copies use of smart board is comparetively less .
Dislikes
- Some of the HOD's are not soo friendly . Pressure is more than other collages becz there are more tests conducted and within short duration unlike other collages .
- Hostel food and wifi is not worth paying 85K .. but 1st years are not given a option to opt out for that option but most of the seniors generally opt out of MES because it is not worth the money and is Expansive also .
Admission:
This collage is because it is nearer to my home, living expenditure are less and traveling costs is also less. The environment and landscape are good along with the beautiful weather. And the people from sikkim are also very nice and friendly .

I chose this college because it is the best college for IT background in Sikkim and they provide great packages, co-curricular activities are held, The IT labs are spacious and systems gets updated every week

- I like the campus first of all there are a lot of facilities provided, personal computers are there in the labs the classrooms are quite big, water is there washrooms are neat and the teachers there are very kind and friendly, A lot of creative works
- Are done. The students are also so nice and there are a lot of good facilities, The library is quite big 300-400 students can fit there and the books are also available we will be given a library card to each student and we need to just stick picture

I chose this college because it's at a very good location and the history of this college is quite nice and my wish was to study on this college only as it is very good and my overall experience here is so well

- Things I like basically environment They got Marina where many sports facilities are there like gymming, basketball, badminton The weather is quite good to and the faculty are very nice The infrastructure is quite big too
Dislikes
- Things I dislike about this college is. Firstly I think the class system they got unusual timing class like if you have 9 AM class then after 1,2 hours gaping They got another class and it goes for 4-5 Yeah Daa PM so sometimes it gets quite hectic

Very honest, the weather is nice in summers You may get some problem bird. It will be only for one or two months otherwise here a rainy season are very nice and winter seasons are very nice to and the infrastructure of the college Made me applied to this college And the placements are also nice. So this things made me apply in this college.

- My campus was awesome, surrounded with mountains, river and trees. I improvement i thought which could have saved the time of student was the introduction of e rickshaw inside the campus for coming out of the campus area.
- I completely enjoyed studying in SMIT. I also scored good because i was happy there. The environment is the first factor which makes student feel so fresh. Every student here has the equal opportunity to get placed for the job.
Dislikes
- Nothing is there to dislike about SMIT. My campus stands out in every aspects.

After my graduation i applied for MBA at SMIT. I always thought to study here. It has a reputation of job placements. All the average student studying here hets placed to different companies. And student here dont go below average. Below average students grows themselves after coming to SMIT.

- The fees is so expensive. It is not affordable for middle class people.

This college is one of the best engineering college of our state. I got confirmed admission at Sikkim Government College, Tadong and Sikkim GOVERNMENT college, Burtuk but I choose this college because I wanted to do B. TECH.

- Playground for various sports football volleyball circket and also a futsal ground .It Also Offers Indoor Table tennis room,GYM,Snooker,Chees And Carrom Area.
- Library is great clean and chilled place to study in peace
Dislikes
- Classes are hectic 9-1classes and 2-4labs
- Quiz and assignments every time makes you exhausted

I applied to SIST a gov college in sikkim .I got confirmed admission over there. No,I didn't got rejected from any college i applied Minimum percentage is 50% with maths physics and chemistry in main. It was overall good experience during admissions.

Why I chose smit is because it's a renowned college in northeast. All the professors are are phd holders so there will be no doubt in studies l. If you have any problem you can openly ask your professors they'll answer politely. I had applied in LPU,CU,SARDA UNIVERSITY, NERIST . But still chose smit is because in other colleges the students are more plus the teachers won't be able to contact every student there will be less doubt clearing

No, there are no direct admissions for the Btech lateral entry. The admissions are based on the score obtained in the JEE Mains or MET.
